It can be pretty effective despite the issues (shot trap, poor DPM, slow for a med, derpy gun), just because you have 1k clip potential, some hull down ability and you are still mobile enough with decent camo. Plus 276mm high velocity APCR helps a lot. Basically a Progetto that trades gun handling/mobility for some armour and alpha. I've found if used carefully it can be quite a bully against tier 8 heavies.

You are the consummate professional - best contributor reviewer on WOT. Easy listening style, good explanations of what your doing and always honest opinions.

The speed combined with slow reload and low view range make early damage in the AMBT very challenging. Maps like Mines you're still driving or loading, and maps like south spawn of Mannerheim or mid in Fisherman's you can't necessarily see if you get there in time.

Going deep into clip is very punishing. Almost 17sec relo of the first shell is insanely long.

Great tank very fun to play. Got this one and Obj 283 the same day and the 283 is tier IX for unknown reasons since it's weaker than AMBT. AMBT needs vertical stabilizer for the gun handling, it helps a lot. Vents and turbo and it starts moving and hitting. Can do some spotting to with optics/vents /exhaust, 496m VR and 33% camo on the move crew skills included.

Daki, if you have bounty turbo on 1 setup, you can use it on 2nd setup as well, you don't need 2 bounty turbos for that!

I got the AMBT and while I do burn my self time to time on shell management it is a lot of fun to play. One absolutely huge note for this tank is that the crew is not the same (perk wise) as the Patton crew which is ridiculous.

Damn some dude requested AMBT and you delivered the next day

I just got the tank in Xmas loot boxes...kind of like it...i treat it like a single shot and accumulate damage taking multiple shots when you can get kill or team mates will help you kill focused tank. I load full prem shells as don't see the point in not penning given the long reload and this thing makes credits...also gun depression fells way higher than the 9 degrees given the long nature of the turret close to the front of the hull.....mid to short range works best as long as you have cover or a fall back position...turret can take a hit but armor more for what if while you get out of the way...kind of a med and light heavy combined....low all out speed but ground resistance is very good.

its okay tank as it is now, it would be a much better tank if the last shell is say 13 instead of 16 secs

Funny thing about the AMBT is that while the turret seems fairly strong, the mantlet is fairly weak to 265+ pen and the hull likes to ricochet shells into the underside of the mantlet. Not to mention the 40mm roof and funky flat parts of the turret. Weird armor profile, doesn't seem consistent against knowledgeable players.

Why did you have a standard turbo in first setup but a bounty turbo in second setup? Why not use the bounty in both setups

Not the easiest tank to play. If you unload on someone and don’t kill them you’re left sitting with your pants down. I love it. AMBT enjoyer here 😊

it seems ambt has better turret to deflect apcr...while proggeto has better hull for apcr.....only thing i dont know how HEAT reacts to ambt gun mantlet..does it pen or absorb

Good tank but harder to play well than prog. I dont use AP or HE, you just dont have that many rounds. I use turbo/vents/Stab and with vent purge directive you can get 445 veiw range.

To be quite honest I still do not know should I like it or just plain hate it. I love Italian auto reloaders. By Italian tanks I have immediately fell in love with the Progetto 46. Standard B took few more games to warm up and ended lowing it to. First go on the Progetto 65 I have had similar feelings as with a AMBT. Higher skill cap definitely. Though eventually playing more Progetto 65 I have learned it and I do enjoy it enough to grind it on my alt account to. Was my second tier X on alt account. So I love it now. Why is this not just higher skill cap tank to me? Well I love the most Leopard PT A. Love Leopard 1 to. I play good Obj.140, T55A and Kpz50t. I love STB1 to. So I can play with or without any armor. I can play hulldown. I can play auto loaders and reloaders. But this tank has the many bad things in medium. It requires bounty or bond equipment to at least make it better. Many forget to mention poor view range. All my mediums are pushing 460 to 500 meters view range. I mean tier VIII and higher. All my mediums are faster even one with some armor. Even faster without turbo than this with a turbo. And on top of that gun is essentially derpy. One needs bounty stab at least to make it work and you need to fully aim. Plus your DPM is actually shit. Armor is tricky especially with the shot trap I was not even aware of. Even with bond turbo it is slower than meta heavy tanks. It needs one more slot practically despite saving slot for the gun rammer. With a good setup you will at least have bad view range. I like tier VIII tanks to work with standard equipment. This one is hard even with the bond equipment. Sure I get few exceptional rounds but still can’t have constant performance with it. It’s bad enough to ask yourself why wasting time playing it when you could be playing Progetto 46, Bourasque, Kpz07 or even Obj.274a and 122TM if you like armored mediums. Or even Type59 if you like jack of all trades or Iron Arnie if you like armor. I enjoy first 3 mentioned mediums way more than this. In those I have one scouting setup and one overall setup. In randoms that kicks ass. Lot of times scouting setup pays off big time. You can’t have that functionality with AMBT. AMBT ultimately needs a great crew, at least bounty equipment, very specific fights that give you time to work. You do not have speed nor DPM for current Yolo meta. Fast heavies outrun you and once there have better armor and better gun even. You can’t spot effectively either. So you are left of making best out of it. Then RU-vidr unicums show that they can play even with a turd and people spend money disregarding that most of them will be bad in it. Daki is one of the best players in the world. Sure he will have great games in it. With given alpha damage can stack up. How many percent players base can perform as well as he does though?

This tank's gun trolls me so fucking hard. AMBT has everything I love in a medium tank on paper but the gun literally just refuses to hit where I aim every single time like no other tank does to me

I think this is one of the worst tanks I ever played actually. High tier but aiming for ages just to miss most likely while loading even the third shell so long like a coffee break. Its even slow while hull is basically paper. I cant tell any aspect which is good, but of course my playstyle could never match slow aim time and most of my battles were over 3-4 minutes so I couldnt really reload or get any shot because of the aim time. You know the feeling when you just aim so long even on mid range, while your team pushing like zombies and either team evaporates fast as fuck.

I think it’s quite an egoistic tank. You can’t hold your own in a 1v1 and definitely not in a 1v2. You need teammates around you to distract the enemy. It wouldn’t surprise me if this ended up w a bad winrate and good dpg

DakiDammit, not sure if this video cursed me but I was fairly close to 50 boxes right? So I went ahead and spent like $26 last night and this AMBT was my guaranteed drop ffs. Pretty salty. So I am like 0-4 in it and barely doing any damage. I already sold it and bought it back again, and well, now I am worried about that whole high floor/ceiling thing but I want to find a groove with it. It doesn't have range so you kind of need to get fairly close and most heavies eat it up so idk.

I freaking despise this tank. I cannot make it work, even if I have everything to the max.

when I play my AMBT, the gun behaves much worse, even with more gun handling equipment and people just pen me while they are on the move and snap like crazy xD So why Daki can hit that IS6 cupola like that and have heavies bounce him when he just peeks? Magic to me!

Idk how but i thats my most successful tank in my garage with averange of 3k damage and 4k wn8 with him. This tank is very good in the right hands. It needs a just little bit more dpm and will be OP. This tank is very good and soo underrated in same time
