I hope it's postponed to add Wukong support. My 7900XTX is only doing 30+ FPS in the benchmark tools and 47FPS using "optimised" settings from HUB. Hopefully driver tweak can improve it to 55 at least until I upgrade my CPU.
I believe if console developers adopt Framegeneration, AntiLag 2 will be a much more spread feature in PC as well, if you must implement a framegen feature that increases latency on console, and the framework to reduce it is backed in, by the time you port it to PC both features are well implemented in the game code not the half backed ones we saw in Nixxes that ported a game that was developed before framegen was even a thing, of course it helps but when you compare it to games that had it from the ground up the difference is noticeable
You'd think. But there's a reason all these games on console that get ported to PC generally run better on Nvidia, or at least they dont run better on Amd. Most devs just use Nvidias black box and port, regardless of the game being made for Amd hardware. Tldr, you are asking too much from the devs lol
Ghost of tsushima is fantastic on amd, using fsr 3.1 quality+fg+antilag 2 at 4k144fp+ max settings and tried to find differences multiple time between it and native 4k and I coulnd't. Only if I go to performance/ balanced upscaling I can see some shimmering on the blades and treebranches from close. And with antilag 2 you can't even feel a diff in terms of delay (play on controller)
Noticed a massive difference in responsiveness at 4K FSR native AA and FG enabled, on a mouse it brings it from kinda clunky to completely playable for me. On a controller even without Anti-Lag it already felt fine.
I've been using anti lag 2 since the update for ghost of tsushima came out over a week ago without the newest drivers, I even did latency testing and it was working
@@therues7071 oh ok. But I still don't know if fsr3.1 upscaler would be better than TSR in this game. This is a Nvidia sponsored game. This is the same story as Cyberpunk. This game has purposefully over sharpen filter, and you know FSR tends to struggle when the native taa is very sharp.
Thank you for the video. In my opinion, they should have kept Anti-Lag+ but enabled it in single player games only, because as you pointed out, Anti-Lag 2 is kinda vaporware if it only reduces latency in CS2 when you play at 4K ultra on a 7700xt. Sure, they can keep doing Anti-Lag 2 in multiplayer games, but it seems like the Anti-Lag+ was actually somewhat effective and it allows them to quickly get it in to as many games as possible, and maybe enable Anti-Lag 2 on more "premium titles" if it is better. Only problem for me is that on Linux, I do not get any "in driver features" from either vendors, so that could also be a good argument for doing things in-game as opposed to in-driver.
Could you test the new windows insider update thats supposed to increase performance on zen 3-5? Haven't seen anyone test zen 3 but amd claims it will benefit
I have been playing cyberpunk with path tracing and of course frame Gen. Even with a mouse it is barely noticeable at all above 90fps. Frame Gen is the SHEET
Correct me if I'm wrong but does this now mean that you can turn on frame gen from 60fps->105fps and see no difference from regular 60, even though fg is on? If so, that's a pretty crazy development and the comments section is downplaying how crazy this is. I'm mostly looking at these time stamps: 10:23 and 11:57 ...Dude this is the EXACT same latency. Now only if they could finish afmf (or add fsr fg everywhere), then we would have a lossless competitor with no latency downsides.
WOW thats actually gamechanger for AMD framgen big step in the right track add to that the huge uplift in performance they got from the new window version 24h2 30% in some cases 15% on avarage AMD are cooking
24.8.1 isn’t available for download. They took it down. When did you do this video? It wasn’t available all day yesterday and it’s still not available this morning, I just looked
As far as I know, the 24.8.1 driver was pulled back because either the driver program or the AMD website is not allowing the download of the 24.8.1 driver. On Reddit, someone wrote that it was pulled back because it was causing crashes, so the driver is not stable. Or is the 24.8.1 a preview driver? If so, it is not official Release.
Thank you for the vid ;) is this something that is coming to games like robocop as well? Using a 6750 XT with a 5800X3D amd FSR Q and frame gen makes it veel very laggy. Not as bad as it was at release but its still janky
Please review memory reduct software that reduces ram usges by a lot and set the clean memory to 3 minutes and this will be only effective for low ram hardware if you have more ram then it won't make any defference, so you have to remove one of your ram sticks
I didn't use FG, not sure the reason for the ms on the left is not tally with the one on the right from MSI Afterburner? 👀 I know MSI Afterburner will not capture the real framerate for FG, but I thought the ms will be displayed correctly...
When you make these type of videos where you showcase a beta feature or test any Adrenalin feature, do you have your custom power tuning profiles enabled or at default?
im using there beta driver and in cod mw 3 with fsr 3.0 frame gen dear god i thought i would never see 200 300 frames per second again on my pc until now thank you amd for this beta driver and giving me a true massive boost in performance for now until 24.8.1 comes out again
Afmf 1 was quite enjoyable to shit on but now version 2 seems actually legit. I personally wouldn't use frame Gen on multiplayer games but those frame rates may be a godsend to you. It is easy on the engine to extrapolate frames at that frame rate so input lag should be pretty minimal.
@@christophermullins7163 so true and yeah input lag was not even noticeable for me but people in the games ruin the experience for you as in cod which is why i left it and going to play some red dead 2 for now until i can get the Calisto protocol for free from epic games
Boas Fábio tudo bem? Adquiri recentemente uma RX 7900 XTX e não sei qual as melhores configurações para gravar as Gameplays, aconselhas que codec para melhor qualidade de imagem e que bitrate? 30/40 ou no máximo? Obrigado!!
Hello, I would like to buy an RX 7800 XT but I have read on the internet about problems with PCs freezing and black screens. Could it be the power consumption? Or drives, etc.? What do you recommend, PSU? 850W? thanks
You'll be fine as long as you stick to the basics when changing gpus. Clean install your nvidia card wirh ddu and shutdown, then put in your amd card and install drivers
Can’t help but notice it’s PlayStation Studios that have some of the best PC games in terms of using new tech to optimize performance. They have a bunch of FSR 3.1 games and now this; anti-lag 2.
Do Anti-Lag 2 help afmf 2's input latency ? I just bought a rx 7900 xtx and i suffer low performance on 1440p path tracing in Cyberpunk 2077 and afmf 2 help me get closer to 60 fps , but input lag is bad :(
No, on a game like this 5 to 6ms difference, you can't feel a difference... Still it is a good thing that AMD got that version 2 with a result. 5ms being significant enough? It's another question. But the results showing better performance is very encouraging. I'm sure at some point they'll manage to make it better.
@@AncientGameplays I've watched it. When you're losing 5 to 7ms while running in the 20ms range, you won't notice a difference. Same when you're losing 10 while running more than 50ms... Or you're a superhuman. When we'll be able to go from 50ms to 20ms, maybe we could experience a difference but we're not there. But as I said, seeing that their system works is positive and we can expect great things for the future.
There’s no future proofing with pc gaming hardware. But everyone plays different games at different resolutions so I can atleast say you’re future proof ish for 1080p but that’s it. 1440p will have games release that are simply too demanding for 7700xt perf.
Okay so my games aren't crashing no more and the random flickering on desktop is finally gone. Thank you so much for making this video. AMD driver 24.7.1 was actually the problem all along.
Quick question: with a 7800X3D and 3080, I get the same the same gaming performance when my cpu runs at 3ghz and at 5ghz. Would this indicate a gpu bottleneck? Im sersiously looking at AMD cards as of now...
@AncientGameplays can u do a video on how Tekken 8 is unplayable sonce 24.7.1 AMD hasnt addressed it in 2 driver updates, its literally one of the biggest games out and its unplayable without crashing
No one talks about the issues AMd radeon has with gaming while using dual monitors ... I have so many issues ..never had a single problem with my GTX 1080 like I have now with RX6800 . The problems persist with all the drivers. Last week while playing a game it blue screened and I could not get the ssd to boot back into windows ..had to do a new os install on a new drive. SO fed up with AMD.
Literally used dual monitors and have them with amd cards several times ans things work as they should, the bluescreen is not due to amd or drivers, 1000% guaranteed
I tried to load MW3. I immediately get a pop up that says to update to 24.8.1.I searched amd and couldn’t find that version. I used the link on this video to find the latest version. Thanks!
@@Whatever1337-e8l MW3 had a massive update on pc. I dont know about consoles. I got a pop up after playing a zombies match giving me the opportunity to rate my last gaming experience. Its never done that before. I was set on FSR 3 and no issues, exception was packet burst. I still get that occasionally. However i do believe the game is causing people to crash on consoles. This is the main reason why i switched from series x to a gaming pc. Long live the PC master race !
@@DirtyMikeAndTheBoys74 well drivers exist on pc only anyway, thats why i asked about them, amd had pretty bad perfomance on previous driver versions on urzikhstan specifically,at least on 6000 series.I hope Fabio is gonna test wz3 on a new drivers
AMD Jesus please review Black Myth Wukong. As there have been reports that AMD Cards are not optimized for the game. I myself AMD user and yes RX 7600 i had a hard time starting the game. Seems like a bug but it is Driver Level as Nvidia users don't have problems running it
Saw some players with RX 7900XTX & 7900XT also facing the similar issue. I think need to wait for AMD to release the new driver for this since they haven't release the latest driver for any latest games in August. Meanwhile, I also saw some news mentioned that Intel 13th and 14th gen CPU also make the game crashed. So, I am not sure whether those gamers are using those CPU.
i downgraded my drivers to 24.5.1 but i‘m using a 6900xt. i‘m 2 hours in and had not a single crash or driver timeout since then. not sure if this might helps users with a 7xxx cards. but i‘ve also used the optimization mod called: ‚bmwk-spf‘ (nexusmods) along the side, maybe try that driver combined with the mod. hope this helps
@@AncientGameplays I could do with your help when you have a spare 10mins and one of those cards in a system..... ill try and cut a long story short.... iv had a problematic 6950xt for about 5 months now, constant green/black screen crashes, none of the fixes online have worked, however, i stumbled across a linux thread that said their 6950xt was being told to boost to 5ghz causing the system to crash, so i extracted the bios with GPU-Z and read said bios with 'MorePowerTool' and to my amaizment the clock range for both frequency tabs was set 500mhz(low) 5000MHZ(high) I used MPT to rewite the frequency clocks to 2600mhz max and took 40mhz off VRAM clock and card has been stable ever since...... so if you could..... if or when you can..... use GPU-Z to save the bios and MPT to read the bios and let me know what your frequencies are set to. I totally understand if you cant/dont have time but this could be a potential fix for lots of failed AMD cards. theres lot more to this but i wont bang on hahahaha. thanks, peace out :)
Thanks for your response, but when I install polaris version 24.2.1 it installs rx460 driver, not r7 but I need driver which supports both r7 and rx460 .
I just upgraded my PSU to 850w and I am currently running a r7 7700x CPU and a Rx 6800. Don't know what to upgrade too. Or even if I should. The only 2 things I have against AMD gpus is FSR and RT. I play at 1440p. Ugg.
apart from any specific RT games like cyberpunk, RT is completely fine on the AMD side, and FSR is far from being bad, and now you are able to use XeSS with FSR FG too in FSR 3.1 games
The current driver is ass for cod my game always crashes in ranked eventually. I have to downgrade to 23.12.1 if I want to grind. Hope the new driver addresses that issue.
Makes GTA5 "3DFX error" those beta Drivers, been obliged to roll back to 24.7.1 and now everything work back again correctly that's sad... hope they move there asses and push new 24.XX.1 lol
AMD reference 7900xtx cant get passed first cutscene of Wukong, it crashes, apparently developers recommending to rollback to 24.5.1 driver to be able to play………. ridiculous
