These guys make it look like a walk in the park. I'm 63 and gonna attempt to build my first computer. If ya all hear about an old guy blowing up his home in Pa, It will be me......... hopefully just kidding.
Thanks! I was going for that because I didn't want to have 3 separate shots in a row when I could just fit 3 or 4 steps or angles in a single frame. I also want to have an up close shot. I did the same for plugging in the cables to the mobo. It's so hard to try to get a camera into the case to get the shot so I plugged the cables with the mobo out of the case so I can get good angles. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for doing this. I just bought a 212 EVO for my daughters FM2+ APU and the supplied directions are a tad limited with the cooler. You saved me a lot of time and pain.
I just bought all the hardware for a build just like this. My present system, an EVGA system, has caps going bad and starting to give me post issues. It is 8 years old and has provided me great functionality but alas, everything has a life cycle so time to build a new one. I have an Enermax Ostrog GT Mid Tower Computer Case, an ASUS Crossblade Ranger MB, 16 GB Corsair Vengeance 2133 MHz memory, AMD A10 Series A10-7870K Processor - 3.9 GHz, Thermaltake SMART 650W power supply, a Hyper 212 EVO Universal CPU Cooler . I have every thing but the power supply and processor. I am excited to build this one. Should have this done by Wednesday.
Toughest part is connecting the front panel connectors. Was very fiddly in such a tight space. Make sure you align the pins correctly (it's easy to let one or both of the pairs slip one place right) and be aware that the front row has a fifth, unused 'dummy' pin on the extreme right. Also there is a tenth standoff connector just above the 'purity sound' module. My case came with six pre-installed and I added another four from the Asrock supplied pack of fixings.
I just wanna ask. I have my old rig. My family used it for typing and other documentations. But as years passes by, we figured out that it gets slower in terms of booting from turning it on. Btw, i used f2a55m-ds2 rev 3.0 motherboard and a4-6300 igpu. Then suddenly last week, i won a Kingston SSD on a raffle draw. The first thing that comes into my mind was a question. Does my old setup supports KINGSTON SATA SSD? Btw, its only 120gb and i think its enough for storage of OS alone. Hoping for your response Sir Johnny. :)
just keep touch the metal case to dissipate the esd. you could also lay a mat or large cardboard box on the floor to stand on. Don't worry too much about static. As long as there isn't arcs of electricity coming out of you you're fine.
Nice guide, I just this minute ordered some similar kit including an ASROCK MoBo! I can never understand why people video unboxing then do not do an install.
i know this video is outdated but what if you put the fan of the cooler on the other side you have a ram slot free but blowing into the other fan... would that make a difference with the airflow in the case?? waiting on answer.. pls reply..
I'm not sure if my ram, ELPIDA RAM ~4GB~ Two Sticks of DDR3 ~ 2Rx8 PC3-8500U-7-10-B0, EBJ21UE8BDF0-AE-F will fit in my motherboard. Please help, it doesn't seem to wanna snap in.
Are asrock mobos good? I am asking, cuz I just bought mine extrem4+ and it came dead from the box. Was is just a bad luck or asrock is not that reliable?
Hello, I am building a PC and will have an AMD 860k (95watts) with an all in one corsair water cooler for the CPU. Will this motherboard supply enough to overclock?
Hi Johnny, your videos are really helpful. Got very similar hardware few days ago, but I do not manage to run my memory at full speed. Do you have any advice how to troubleshoot such an issue ? I have the FM2A88X Extreme4+ with a A-10 7800, my memory is 2*4K G.Skill RipJawsX DDR-2400. The system boots when I set the bios memory speed to 2133, but doesn't at 2400.
Did you check to see if you can set the timing manually to what the ram can run at? 11-13-13-31-2N Also, the voltages should be at 1.65V which is much higher than the standard 1.5V for memory. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
***** Thanks for your reply, unfortunately that didn't help. The memory is already auto detected to 1.65 volt, and setting this value manually didn't help either. The timing was as well correctly auto detected but I still set it manually, tried with using xmp profile as well as setting the latencies manually ( write latency was set to 8 by default and I didn't touch that setting ). Still the same behavior. Is it safe to set higher latencies (underclock) ?
Doing a build and cpu fan on and the case fans are working but no Signal to Screen. No beep as well. Took the ram out and got 3beeps. fms mb amd a6 processor and ssd. any help
Nice job! Thanks for that video I am subscribing for sure. I do have a noobie question. Do you have to switch the back plate they seem to have the same screw spots for the AMD FM2?
Hey that's a great question. Most likely not only because adding the standoffs to the stock motherboard backplate will make it higher than it needs to be. then the cooler will not make enough contact with the cpu. Thanks for watching!
I have two Hyper 212 EVO's. The flat side of the bolt will easily turn in the bracket. The tolerances aren't very tight. I much prefer my two Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme's. They are beefier, have six heatpipes. Best of all they use the stock AMD backplate so installation is a snap.
great video man if possible could u just show the different types of screws used in different components of the system...the shapes like finethreaded... corse....etc to put the exact screw which is required to build
yeah I've done that in the past on a previous build guide. I might do it again for another. I didn't have my macro lens for this guide. thanks for watching!
Hey dude, good job. But now I've seen the Hyper 212 installed I think I will go back to the Scythe Ninja 4... A far superior cooler and a better mounting bracket
Thanks for the suggestion. I will have to think it over because there are many factors that go into cable management when it comes to the different hardware and cases. I would have to do a few separate videos for different cases and figure out something that could apply to everyone.
***** Well thanks for considering it. I'm working on my first build right now and this video is helping me a lot but I found myself completely lost when it comes to the little circumstantial nuances like cable management.
Arc Midi R2? Antec Neo? Hyper 212 EVO? FM2+A88X Extreme 6? Ha. I own all these parts plus the same ram kit. I just am using a A10-6800K instead with no discrete card. Just a fun build. AM3+ is my real "work" computer.
