Installing a graphics card is a pretty easy task, that is when everything goes as planned.
If your system has had a previous card installed and the older drivers are causing issues then this video should give you the methods I use to prevent and fix display driver problems.
The advice given is specific in the video to the Radeon RX480, but the methods used are suitable for most if not all graphics cards from AMD Nvidia and Intel.

I've been having trouble with AMD's newest driver since its release. I currently have AMD Adrenalin 2020 12.2.2, but I've been trying to install 12.2.3. Every time I attempt to install it, I get a completion, but it tells me the driver didn't install completely. I've tried installing several times from the installer downloaded from the site, the installer from the application itself. I even made sure nothing was running in the background, but I haven't been able to install it completely no matter what I did.

@@mikesunboxing I have the 12.2.2 and it's even more problematic to be honest. On 12.2.2 all games used to freeze during launching and ended up giving me black screens or simply crashing. On12.2.3 games run smoothly but after 10-15 min my HDMI signal just get lost and the only way out is by hard restarting the PC. Do you know any way to fix that ?

Was the card working perfectly in the older drivers? If so I would remove the new ones and reinstall the old ones and see it the problem goes away

@@mikesunboxing I tried deinstalling and reinstalling the drivers but it didn't work. But later yesterday I deinstalled the drivers and reinstalled the 19.12.2 version without changing any configuration on the andrenaline amd 2020 software, and everything's running fine now! Seems like the software was the problem! Thank you very much!!

I installed my Graphics card its plugged into the PSu and PCi-e 16x riser. The pc boots and the fans spin on the card but CPU-Z and every other means of looking for the card say its not there. any suggestions?

check the riser connections? Does the card get recognised when inserted directly into the motherboard?

I have the same card, I need help I followed the entire video step by step and I have all drives for the card but it won’t display when I plug my HDMI into the card, it only displays when I plug it into the MOBO. I have a Ryzen 3 2200G (maybe it’s defaulting to the integrated graphics on the APU) please help

@@hansmuller1933 you have to go on safe mode and go to device manager and uninstall your graphics card driver under display. Restart and then download the driver again. Previous version if anything.

are you using your pin or password? In safemode the password entry defaults to the password rather than a pin number, if you are using one that is

So, I've been trying to install my graphics drivers to my rx 570 and when I finish the installation and try to open the Radeon Software it says that there's no driver installed (I've installed.the latest version) and when I try to open a game it says that there's no OpenGL so it can't open.

I need help. I tried using the automatic detection AMD software and used it to update my drivers and I ticked the factory reset option when updating. And after that when the bar is already full my laptop just freezes. When I try to unplug it and plug again to restart it just boots up forever (black screen). And so I tried safe mode and used DDU but what driver should I install now? I don't know my previous driver.

this is normally a software error but in some cases can be defective hardware

I have a r9 280x and I have artifacts (red lines). I've tried installing newer, older or different ways to install a good working driver but each time I install the driver, on the last 97% the entire screen goes black. And there is no other option to just hit the reset or power button to get out of the black screen. I had this problem earlier too. Then I could install the newest driver from AMD's website and the artifacts were gone. Any ideas? Please help!!!!

if the gpu and monitor drivers are installed you should have access to the desired screen sizes. Maybe check your cable is able to support the monitor size or try using a display port cable if supported

Good day sir, I follower every steps in this video, but after uninstalling the drivers, my monitor won't detect my GPU, but it detects my integrated GPU. I tried installing the AMD software with using the display of my iGPU, then installed the drivers for my GPU in the device manager (My GPU is detected and says its working) and then I restarted my pc. While my pc is booting, my monitor would detect my GPU but my screen keeps turning black. My screen would appear for a second and would return to black screen for 5-15 seconds. I could use some help. Any idea how to solve thos issue?

I had a problem with an MSI rx580 gamingX, where I would check amd Radeon settings for updates, I’d update and my Radeon settings wouldn’t open, it said my driver version and Radeon settings didn’t match, long story short, I had to go into the registry and change the Radeon settings version to match, I’m wondering why this has happened twice. Insight would be appreciated, even though the problem was fixed, do you think your method would have also fixed the solution?

I had a similar problem years ago with a 5570 that refused to be recognised properly, never fixed it though and sold the card cheap as faulty. Maybe flashing the BIOS would have helped.

Hey there Mike! I'm having problems with gpu which is an Red Devil rx580 When i try to install the drivers my gpu crashes and won't boot into windows anymore So uninstall the drivers and it's ok but i get so many blue screens. Any suggestions?

I have windows 10 pro N version and i bought a new pc with ASUS Radeon RX570 4GB DDR5 GPU so i installed windows and tryed to download radeon adrenalin 2020 and every time when i am installing adrenalin on the end tells me dll files are missing i downloaded (mf.dll, evr.dll, mfplat.dll and mfreadwrite.dll) so i downlaoded those files placed in system 32 and sys 64 bcs i have 64 bit pc and also again installer tells me: The procedure entry point MFCreateSourceResolver could not be located in the dynamic lybrary! If you could help me i will apreciate it mate !

As soon i install the driver for my xfx radeon rx570 i start to have blue screens that pop up and crash my computer. I know its amd drivers or a bad card cus when i disabled my card using device manager the blue screens stops.

I recently upgraded my amd graphics card when I installed it I forgot to deleted the drivers so when I booted it up I installed DDU went into safe more and deleted the drivers and installed the adrenaline software when it restarted back I installed the drivers and when it restarted for the last time it gives me an error saying No AMD graphics drivers is installed and I’ve been trying everything and nothing works also I device manager under display adapters there is a yellow warning triangle next to the graphics card name and I don’t know what that means when I click on it it says error code 43

Hi could you please tell me why GPU metrics in performance tab of AMD adrenaline 2020 is showing GPU utilization as N/A?? does that mean some GPU driver is not installed or something else? is it suppose to be like that?? i have R7 3700U vega 10gfx , with no external GPU . kindly help me out.

because you don't have a gpu, you have an apu which is a shared resource with the main CPU so it doesn't show in the software for some reason, maybe it will at some point

remove the drivers reboot and let Windows auto install the drivers

This helped with installing a new AMD card. I will say that AMD 's site quickly removed my old driver and pointed to the new driver. No issues at all.

this video really helped me download the drivers .. but i still cant see amd switchable graphics option when i right click on desktop pls tell me what should i do . what happened was the switchable graphics option just vanished and it turned to intel again...after that i was unable to switch pls tell me what to do after installing amd drivers again.
