I got the modell Genmachine with 3550 h Ryzen and i can recomend it, 15-35 watt consume with max support of 32 gb ram and max 2 TB M2 SSD , it plays genshin/Honkai/Starrail witout any problem . (fullhd low specs) but anyway its good and quiet. best buy i have done. thx for the video to let people the newer version know it. ah by the way my recomend is install your own WINdows or Linux. price was 140.- dollars.

These seem to be nice, affordable and high power boxes. Got one in today. Unfortunately came with Windows 11 but it's plenty fast. Gonna do some stress testing later, I work with audio plugins and drum samplers etc.

@@tianonly I'd not do that - it'll void your warranty Check first the temperature on it, some SSDs aren't getting that hot (I already have the experience with SSD from laptop that you can't use on mini pc - because on the laptop the cover touch the SSD and cool it down) If there's enough space you can add a heatsink, if there's not enough space you can add a thermal pad which will transfer the heat to the cover (same as done in the laptop SSD I described above)

@@saturnfrak I didn't do it but not because of the warranty. I was looking for weather it is only a commercial sticker or something usefull and at least they advertise it with some new gen cooling solution. So I left it. Putting a heatsink on it, I was thinking about it. I think somewhere I must have one laying around because the mainboard of my main computer came with a heatsink for the ssd and so I did remove the heatsink from the Samsung SSD I bought and used the beefier looking ones from the mainboard. Yet I had not time to look where I put the Samsung heatsink - I really should search for it🙃

The case feels really nice. The overall impression is quite good. But the DC-In did feel very flimsy when I plugged it in the first time. Unlike the USB ports where it was like every usb port

I don't have access to the device at the moment as I have lent it to a friend. With the best will in the world out of my memory I can't say how much customization the bios allowed.

@@tianonly Received my 5300U today - in my case TYPE-C can't power it on If you're connecting your MINIPC only using the display port (via type-C) it supplies the power to the MINIPC (same as connecting it to the type-c charger) Possible it's only in your model ;) BTW - I saw in your next video that you're connecting both power and the display - so it's not PD, it's just display port via type-c ;)

How's the performance with Linux? Any issue?

Well, playing games back to back was no problem. But having RU-vid running in the background while skype is open and surfing the web seems to much for the heat management of this compact device. I experienced screen freezing while the sound was playing as normal. That is no issue of Linux of course. For that, Linux works very fine. At least the Arch based EndeavourOS. Didn't try any other distro.

I had the fan turning on once when I did install the operating system and it was noticeable. I was in my office at work and did set up the installation on my break and let it run in the background. At first I wasn't sure what the sound was till I located it comes from the PC. But I have to say, I have had the screen standing on it.

To be honest, I find this somewhat poor. The title says unboxing and, besides that and opening the box to install RAM and a NVMe storage stick, nothing else. Of course something is something, but I would love to see a more detailed review of the box itself. What I mean is, to know what kind of M2 slots does the motherboard has (they look to be M key, having the notch by the left as they are shown in the video), to check what kind of cooling the box has by dismantling it further (heatsinks and fans), and to check its UEFI BIOS for the amount of adjustable settings, options and information (very important), as it should provide information about manufacturer, model and chipset type; information which can also be checked with tools or commands while running an operating system. This information can be obtained quickly and is valuable. Thanks in any case.

I don't have access to the device at the moment as I have lent it to a friend. But as far as my memory serves me, it's not a UEFI but a normal bios. With the best will in the world I can't say how much customization the bios allowed.

The thing is that I find the available information for these micro PCs scarce. After all, where is the manufacturer's website? If there is 😹 one, that is. Good manufacturers usually provide more than adequate product information in their webpages, this is what I find missing for these micro PCs. They otherwise look like nice products, although things like the quality of the supplied SSD storage in configurations which include them… 🤔 mmm. Concerning the UEFI, I think it must be UEFI because modern PCs must adhere to the UEFI specification. Also, an UEFI BIOS program interface can be in text mode and have all the required functionality. The UEFI article in Wikipedia seems to provide adequate information: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFI. If they actually use the old BIOS standard yet, they deserve a beating…

What is the key to access the bio?

My device behaves in a way I have never seen before. Without an operating system installed, it boots into the bios on its own. After installing Linux with SystemD-boot as the boot manager, I have a choice of booting Linux or rebooting into the bios. Usually F1, F2, F10, F12, Del, or Esc brings one into the bios.
