a controller, no matter if it is telescopic, Bluetooth or with a usb dongle, is for me the preferred way to play games. the downside of a telescopic controller is, it might become heavy to hold over time. But that's a very subjective point. For me, I do like them. Mostly because it's overall a more compact solution. It needs less space in a backpack
Hello, I have the Ryzen 4500 GenMachine, I use Windows 10 Home, the drivers you used are the same ones that the GenMachine store sent you, I was considering installing BigLinux or Fedora
GenMachine store didn't send me any drivers. I purchased the barebone version without Ram and Storage and also no Windows. I did directly install linux (EndeavourOS). Except for Bluetooth I had not to deal with any driver issues. All came out of the box with my linux installation and worked fine. I did never hear about BigLinux. Looks interesting. But old as I am, I think I will stay with OpenSuse for my main computer. For my experience it is rock solid. I had never any problems (unlike my Arch installation I used before). But on the GenMachine I did like to tinker around with different distros. And in fact they are all the same if it comes to daily use. I still want to switch to freeBSD but software support holds me back.
I am not sure if it is what you wanted but open both apps you want to use simultanious then open overview of your running apps (the square button from the three on screen buttons or swipe slowly from the botton up till the running apps apear) Now above the app preview you see the icon of the app. Klick on it and a menu opens with two options: App Info and Split top Klick on Split top -> now you have the app on the upper half of the screen. the second app you touch on, will open on the bottom half of the screen remember: You have to open both app first before you can split them hope I could help you
Yes you can connect it a monitor, keyboard and mouse. But you need to use a usb-c hub if you want to use all the things at the same time. For Red alert 3 I will come back to it again. I will try it for you. Even I am sure that the should be old enough to be playable.
@@tianonly thank you! I have a type c hub I use with my mac, should work. I want to have a travel solution to have on me and play wherever there is a monitor or tv, as well as on the go. And since I am not looking to play AAA titles I think it should work just fine
Okay, Red Aleart 3 at 1080p and high preset settings = 15fps after I lowered the preset settings to medium the game ran at smooth 30fps. At least in the first mission ^_^
Good question. Difficult to compare because the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro has a ARM based Mediatek Dimensity 1100 while the Athlon Silver 3050e in the Ayn Loki Zero is an x86 CPU. If you go for emulation, I think the Retroid could have an edge over the Ayn Loki Zero. Not necessarily because the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro is that much more powerfull but because Windows 11 is a fat piece of operating system running in the background of the Ayn Loki Zero. But with the ARM powered Retroid Pocket 4 Pro you are missing out all the sweet PC games waiting in your Steam, Uplay, Windows Store...
It is a low power cpu. You will be able to use the Adobe software. How happy you will be with it is another matter. For professional or even semi-professional video and photo editing, this (and other mini PCs with the same CPU) is nothing. For the hobbyist, smaller video edits. Should work. Which of course begs the question, why use expensive Adobe software if you don't or can't utilise its full potential? Regarding Diablo: Up to Diablo 3 you shouldn't have any problems (except of course if Win11 starts to act up, but that has nothing to do with the Mini PC itself).
Interesting way to present the hardware. You should lean on the chaos of your shooting style. It's different from anyone else out there! But try to include more circumstances using different aspects of the hardware, such as OIS on and off, etc.. I didn't learn much about the camera itself, but the overall presentation was kinda hilarous, which is refreshing. Kudos to you!
It's an old one I bought in 2014 from amazon: Ultradisk 4033 Tie Clip On lavalier mic And for the USB-C lavalier mic I think that was a pack in mic from an action cam (it might came with the Wolfang GA420, but not entirely sure)
I am on holiday at the moment. Just arrived yesterday at my hotel. But out of my memory I can say it was an nvme 2280. You should be able to see the storage I use because I think I show it in the video
You can upgrade the ram if you take the device apart. Just look up a tutorial, it is a bit involved but you can definitely upgrade it.

Hello! Just so your review and wondering if you can plug an 65w charger from the usb-c. I am looking to buy a mini pc with ryzen 5825u from GenMachine and ideally i like to have small ac brick and inaudible fan noise. Will This GenMachine mini pc delivers? Planning to install linux mint 21.3 on it.
The USB-C port on my device does not support charging. But you can connect a screen using the usb-c port. For the fan noise, on graphic heavy games you can hear the fan if the mini pc stands close to you. I had it around 50 to 60cm away from me, and I could notice sometimes the fan. But when you add game sounds and other ambient noises to the mix, you're less likely to notice the fan if you're not focussed on it. But that for my device. I run EndeavourOS on mine and it works wonderfully. I did now also manage to get Bluetooth to work. So happy about it.

@ Nice. I would trust Beelink more to not put any trojan, keylogger etc on their Windows installation than GenMachine. But still not far enough to not make a fresh install by myself. But as you said you will run it with linux mint anyway, no need to be worried here. Nice choice. Hope it will match your needs.

Hey, it's me again! :P Well it's a bummer that some games doesn't support controllers, i wonder if you could try another Assassins Creed, Odyssey for example is a game that i would be mad to see it on this device. Alternatively, AC Black Flag, AC Syndicate, AC Origins. If you own any of the most recent games of the series it would be nice to make a video about. Doom 2016 is one of the most well optimized games i ve seen in my life, it can literally run or anything. Dead Space its totally fine on this device also. As for the Forza Horizon 4, maybe you could give a try with Forza Horizon 3, also you could possibly take a look and test some other racing games, like Dirt 2, Dirt 3, Need For Speed Heat, F1 2013 etc. Do you have plans on testing Batocera on Loki Zero? Maybe some PS2/GameCube/3DS/OG Xbox, PSP emulation? The Legend of Zelda - A Link Between Worlds (3DS), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GameCube), Super Mario Sunshine (GameCube), BLiNX: The Time Sweeper (OG Xbox), Sly 2: Band of Thieves (PS2) are some games that it would be nice to see on this device if you can. I don't have any of the newer Assassins Creed games. But I don't think they will run anywhere near to playable. At the moment I am rendering the video where I try among other things Football Manager 2015 and Fallout New Vegas. I will make one more video about games. Halo will be one. I will look if I have one of the racing games you mentioned and add them to the roster: As the last video for the Ayn Loki Zero I will at least try to boot batocera from a MicroSD card or USB stick and then see which games I can run. But I can't promise that I'll get it done before my holiday.
Well it's Windows 11😉😁 So far, starting games worked fine. And if the games run I did not encounter any problems I would say they are caused of the Loki Zero. But I had no longer gaming session yet. So there might be glitches.
One thing you forgot to do in VC and SA was set the resolution to 32bit. It looks like you may have not scrolled all the way to 32bits, so it was set to 16bit. (1920x1080x16). The games look SO much better in 32bit!! Good video
Hey thanks for your comment. I intentionally left it at 16bit colour dept, because I hoped for a higher frame rate. Even I think it doesn't make a difference at all with modern graphic cards 😁
Loki zero seems so much better than the win600. Has the same chipset yet the ergonomics r vastly superior. What do u think about the new ayaneo next lite which is 50-80 dollars more than this but more capable to run more modern games.
The Ayaneo Next Lite looks really nice. Definetly worth the extra charge. I said it in an other reply to a comment, I do like the Loki Zero. I paid 199 USD, what was a good price back when I preordered it. But I would not buy it for more.
it is. i had a Win600. it was cool because i wanted a cheaper, lighter, smaller handheld to be more portable and take places. i just couldnt over the button placement. using USB storage was a little annoying. and i kept feeling like it wasnt worth it. returned it. and i have a void for a while. then i got one of these. and its everything i wanted the Win600 to be.
I am sorry to tell you but the Insta360 Go 3 doesn't support any external mic. The only way is to for example connect a mic to your phone or any standalone recorder and then later mix the audio and video together.
i thought a usb extension cable might work...no. its a shame because i edit by removing the sd card and plugging it into final cut pro. but the insta 360 audio adapter needs to be constantly fitted and removed to get the the ace pro sd card. fail. how many times will the insta audio adapter work before the plastic breaks...with me fitting and unfitting it?
I don't like to remove the plastic door. That why tried the usb extension cable. For me it makes no sense that the extension cable doesn't work because its just a pass through of the usb connectors. And I did use an "quality" high speed cable what I normaly use for the "Ready For" function of my Motorola handset. I already had the idea that the mic adapter maybe trigger some hidden switch or something but I can't see any.
I don't own Call of Duty World at War but to my own suprise I do have the Halo: The Master Chief Collection in my Steam account (don't remember purchasing it) so yes. Not in the next video, because I still cutting the games I filmed before but after that I will try Halo.
I Love Vice CIty and San Andreas! Great games! I think that if this device can play some of the old PC gems + some Gamecube/3DS/PS2 emulation i'm on for bying it.
I will not say don't buy the Loki Zero. I do like the device. But there are so many handheld gaming pc on the market now, some not that much more expensive. Just compare them well.
Its so nice to see some of the old gems running well on this device! Bioshock maybe needs its special treatment to run, but it runs well. Thnx man! I can't wait for more videos with games showcases on Loki Zero!
Just connect an mouse over the usb-c port or with bluetooth and you can change the settings to gamepad support on and thats it. As Bioshock 2 runs fine, the first part will run with no problems too. I intentionally kept this out because i want to see if I can run the games out of the box with what the Loki Zero provides me.
How would this device perform for games like hades, dead cells, spiritfall, prince of persia, afterimage, ori games? Im assuming better than a Nintendo switch?
Hades and Dead Cells have pretty low system requirements. So I assume they will just run fine. I don't own those games and couldn't find any demo so I can't try them. Wiill they perform better than on a Switch? I am not sure. You could tweak them to get higher fps, like lowering the resolution. But for example Hades runs on Switch at 720p/60fps. The Loki Zero has a 6inch screen. Most people won't see any differenc between 720p and 1080p on this small screen anyway. On contrary, I prefer a lower resolution for some games. Text in particular can sometimes be completely unreadable at higher resolutions. You will see it in a upcoming video where I show the Football Manager 2015. I need a magnifying glass to be able to play the game on the Loki Zero. Everything is so tiny.
