@@juliewitt1411 while this is true, and the voice is an ai, it still uses voice coding from a female no? therefore I've concluded the robot can be referred to as sh-it.
I think they don't want to make it more realistic. Ameca wants to create a robot that looks like a robot in the end. Making it look human would serve no purpose
The reason the lips aren’t synched up is because the robot has no AI involved. It’s responses are voiced by someone behind the scenes, not by the robot itself.
they actually have made robots that look more realistic with coloured in skin, wrinkles, hair, etc but despite the amazing accuracy it was still in the uncanny valley area but maybe one day we’ll get there!
i cant wait to see robots talk like that on their own, answer on their own or ask questions on their own, that adds so much personality, i love this robot even though a real human is talking trough it!
The movements are very realistic. but I think they kept the looks just weird enough to keep it from looking too realistic. She would make a great hostess. They built her with great manners. about as good as they can be right now. Humans talk over each other alot and still are able to take in what was said while they were taking. Robots havnt quite mastered that yet, in turn making humans have to wait until they stop talking completely to speak again.

Yes, the said that in one of the interviews. They saw the effect of the uncanny valley with their other robots (they do work robots in entertainment, think advanced animatronics like Disney do) and they wanted this one to be just outside the valley by making it look a lot more artificial.
You're right. I also believe they could make them perfect, like in game "Detroit: Become Human", but they doing social adoptation on us. Slowly, but surely, this will assist in police and army.
Probably not this one, this one will probably be in the service industry in like 50 years. Space exploration robots will most probably be faceless, more focused on utility.
That's definitely the future of space travel. Send a humanoid robot to another planet and then connect to it through VR in order to be able to explore as if you were there
Anyone else really fascinated with this robot and constantly coming back to watch vids of it? I just can't get over how realistic it is. And this is only the beginning. Imagine once they are able to get it to walk, talk, and act more like a human in terms of full-body movement and reactions. This is insane. Can't way to see how this progresses in the next 10 years!
Man that’s so creepy, I know even without robots there’s still plenty of creepy things humans make. But I still wish this one would’ve stayed in the movies. It basically looks just like iRobot haha
I heard an interview say that it is really hard but they were working on. That they didn’t have a compact version for the legs as of yet but had an estimation of around 18 months.
We are technically always living in the future. It's just that the technologies that we think are advanced are waiting to be discovered. Or anything for that matter, is out there, waiting to be found.
i am now slightly obsessed with ameca, so cool to see such a realistic robot! i wonder if we’ll ever be able to pass the uncanny valley and have a robot that looks so human you couldn’t tell it’s a robot, that would so be super cool
What's really going to be insane is that in 10 years, these robots and prosthetics will not only look real, but sound and move like humans do, reaching the point in which it may become too difficult to start telling them apart.
why do i kinda feel bad for her. 😂 when i saw lots of people shoving their phones on her face, and it's just her standing there, probably the whole day.
That face expression right at 1:35 to 1:37 when Ameca is looking at the camera is what gets me the most in that video. But I must say though that the endless eye movement is a bit off.

I can't wait, hope you guys develop robots as companions, hope that (he) or (she) has a warm and sexy smile, warm skin and gentle fingers, magnetic voice, humorous and witty language, I will do everything to get him (her) : ）！
I hope some of us move to Mars before it's too late. Because right now we have all of our eggs in one basket. If robots take over or a nuclear world war happens, we will be in big trouble.
