Hmmm James Carafano is actually a quite well informed and prepared spokes person. In a lot of things he's quite correct, if still taking a morally bankrupt western capitalist point of view. People should stop overly focusing on the military industrial complex and look at it from some other angles. The US first and foremost wants to destroy other countries organizational structures and sophistication (knowledge, engineering, infrastructure, governance, etc.) , so it retains its superiority in that regard. What it destroys, they'll offer to replace and repair after the kinetic phase of the conflict has passed, and they will offer to loan the money to rebuild at a sizeable interest because lending money to insecure places comes with high interest. They will install all the spying hardware needed to keep an eye on things as well off course when contracting out the telecom's. And on top of it is always the capitalist intent of keeping populations in a state of insecurity, so there will be plenty of opportunity to buy resources for cheap and have acces to cheap labor. If corrupt officials can be installed as well who will dance to their tunes all the better.
