"America's Got Talent" winner Shin Lim dealt up an astonishing card trick for Ellen and guests Wanda Sykes and Beth Behrs. #ShinLim #AGT #AmericasGotTalent
Eric Champlin lol this is bonus. The $1 million trick was his experimental last act that made it well deserved! For AGT very appropriate to showcase his concerto skills.. just to say that he was a pro at piano too. He chose to repurpose his hand skills to magic. I applaud him because I don't believe I have seen a magician with professional music background. I know of many musicians who are magicians but not to the league Shin Lim is. Mainly great musicians but not professional. Shin Lim has a combination power that is unique. The only criticism I have for him is being too honest in his style. He doesn't use trickery but sleight-of-hand.. overreliance on SOH has its vulnerability..
Designing miracles and building a brand is infinitely more difficult. Methodology is a trivial point that generally ruins the experience for most. Please enjoy and join the party.
I don't really care HOW he does his illusions, I'm just SO IMPRESSED by how smooth and how professional Shin is. Magic? Maybe... Entertaining? HECK YES!!!
He saw ellen's card at the beginning and when she gives him the cards back the, while he's talking and distracting the girls, he's preparing all the six's, each in one pack, and in the bottle of each one! So in the end, when he tells the girls to count the cards like him, the last card will become the first one, so no matter what they do with the other cards, the six's will be in the bottom, and in the end will be the first because of the last counting !
"What are you going to do with the one million dollars?" "Save it." You can take the asian out of the asia, but you can't take the asia out of the asian.
The card tricks are “simple” sure, but the real skill level and magic happens with his sleight of hand. He is amazing at it. Even had Penn and Teller fooled several years back! Shin Lim clearly deserves to win, he’s dedicate a lot of his life to mastering his art.
In 5 years someone will comment: "Anyone still watching in 2023?". In 10 years: "Oktober 2028?" In 15 years: "2033?" 20 years: "My God!?!? Is that Wanda Sykes? She looks so yyyoooouuunnngg!"
I think this card trick was an act of brilliance rather than of quick hands. 1:19 --> Quick look at the card so that he knows which card Ellen chose 1:28 --> Arranges all the 6s as the last cards of those 4 decks 1:52 --> All 6s are on top 2:11 --> He asks to put one card down from the deck(all 6s) 2:14 --> Asks to shuffle other cards 2:32 --> All the 6s are the first cards 2:43 --> Asks to throw cards randomly 3:00 --> Asks to count cards by putting one by one so that all the 6s come one top Amazing!!!
@@jaymackenzie7266 depending on what she chooses, Shin Lim will then improvise accordingly. For example, if Ellen chooses 6 of spade, he will then perform a "teleportation" of her 6 of diamonds to either of the other 2 persons and say that the 6 of diamonds is now with either of the other 2 persons. They'll probably still be amazed.
@@jaymackenzie7266 if Ellen chooses another pile shin would say "give it to someone other than yourself" until she pick a pile that contain her random card. This is a trick so call as "magician choice" in magic field.
That’s kida rude they were both very talented and great people at least be happy someone didn’t win because of there sad story like in Previous years Edit: I’ve never got this many likes 😂😂
I thought that girl would win it but Shin Lim won it instead of her! Congrats on winning America's Got Talent (Shin Lim)! Dude is very good and very talent and happy that he won it!
Honestly with Courtney... She can hit high notes but to me it was just a lot of screaming and mumbling.. I could barely understand what she was singing.. Again this is just my opinion.
Courtney sucks. The only reason she got this far was because people were enamored with her style of singing and compared it to some well-known and deceased singers.
Courtney is VERY impressive for her age, but she lacks the polish and range of an older and more experienced voice. Given a few more persistent years of practice and performing, she will be a great solo act or lead vocals in a group like Janis Joplin, Annie Lennox, Grace Slick, and Chrissie Hynde.
Theres a reason he fooled Penn and teller twice and won American got talent. This guy is hands down one of the best slight of hand magicians there are.. I am super happy he won and I hope I can get the chance to witness his skill in person some day! Congrats Shin!!
Sometimes magic can be simple, but the presentation of impressing audience is extremely difficult, I just love him, watching him doing magic is just a pleasure, a comfortable one.
I actually like watching this trick more now knowing how it’s done. Impressive how he talks his way into getting the trick done flawlessly. For a second I thought Wanda was going to mess it up lol.
@LAITH AL IRAQI It seems that he peeked at the card when he handed her the deck at around 1:19. He kinda flips the deck around before giving it to her, and for a split second, he looks directly at the face side of the deck, in which his finger has bookmarked the card Ellen chose. He did the same thing in his AGT performance. In the end, when they're picking their respective piles, it seems that Ellen got lucky and picked the pile with her own card in it. Otherwise he would have told her to give the pile to someone else, like he did with that guy on the AGT performance. That's just my guess idk. :)
@@pibits237 no, he put the 6's on top of the pile and told them to do hold dealers grip by taking the top card away which is the 6's and u should be able to figure out the rest
He is the best magician not only because of his talent but also because he has so much humility and a huge heart I've seen many magicians like Justin Flom and honestly many of them have this arrogant attitude that ruins the whole show but Shin Lim is one in a million 💖 Congratulations from México! I hope someday have the fortune to see you
@@350z33hr like he said.... So simple but so amazing. Don't understand the word amazing? Or you didn't consider that as a compliment? Btw he wouldn't be using simple one to win agt isn't he?
WHY is everyone talking about how he do it !!! instead of prizing his talent. We all knew it's not about the trick it's about the ability of doing it and that is something really take effort and hard work. He is unique and impressive. Accept that, you will not be like him even if you knew the trick. STOP IT.
It’s not about being like him. I sure as hell have no intentions of being a magician. Performance is as entertaining as figuring out the little details he had done to complete a trick.
It doesnt require that much talent to do this particular trick. if you see the explanation the only thing he has to do is peak at her card before he gives her the deck. The rest is easy unless you have an idiot who doesnt follow instructions. Like Wanda who almost fucked up the trick.
chad kohl This is called magician's choice. It's when the magician remembers which pile has the chosen card, and forces the "chosen person" to end up with that specific pile. If Ellen had chosen any other pile, he would have told her to give it to someone else, until she chose the pile on the far right. Shin just got lucky there that Ellen chose the right pile on the first try, but that's not what matters. What matters is how flawless he did the trick and how he successfully controlled 3 people at once.
Khalid Hakami I agree that he’s a wizard but this trick is pretty amateur actually, I can’t believe it helped him win AGT when most of his other tricks were pretty unexplainable
It was explained this way in another Shin Lim performance video: he uses his pinkie finger to mark the spot of the chosen card, so when he starts flipping through the deck, he can immediately see which card was selected; he then sets up the four stacks so that the chosen card (and its equals) are on top of each pile. From there, his directions move the card to the bottom; then back up to the top, of each pile. Ellen selecting the pile with her own card is a gamble, but the magician can simply talk his way to four different endings (and make each of them seem "magical") depending on who happens to have picked the pile with the chosen card.
smirk x Ok here it goes. He looks at the Card Ellen picks real quick before he makes her shuffle. Then very obviously he separates the cards into 4 piles all while looking for the 6s then when he has Ellen pick her pile(which he puts right in front of her) he tells her to pick it up(if she picked the wrong pile he would tell her to hand it out to somebody else) all the 6’s are on the bottom of the deck so when they count their cards they move to the top. Cool trick but pretty easy to figure out, I mean I figured it out and I couldn’t figure out 99% of his tricks
First saw him on Penn and Teller Fool Us and he was great. Penn even says when people stop him they say , "Hey, you have that show where Shin Lim performed". Love it
Bukolasmiles yo mad respect for catching that as well. Shin has great audience management. It’s the same trick he did on the reveal show for AGT but he handles all the spectators really well.
