Great video, i got to ride on this railroad in 1996. My father knew the yard master back then. Surprisingly, the ride was very smooth for industrial track. A couple years ago a bottle car derailed on the draw bridge, those cars are a pain in the ass to re rail.
This is my city, spent lots of time down there filming over the decades I love driving friends through there freaked the hell out of them sometimes ha ha ha
Did you have any problem with security or anything? Was it easy to chase or follow? I don't live very far from the CROW so I've been wanting to come document some of their movements.
Didn't have any issues with anyone surprisingly. All they said was just to stay far from the tracks (for obvious reasons) and that I was fine to stay. I just stayed along Independence Road the entire time I was there. I'd also highly advise to stay a distance away from the trains as it's always possible for a derailment or for hot metal to spill out. I set up my camera and stood far away when I filmed.
Noticed some camera shake towards the end of the video as each torpedo car passed. Was that ground vibration or heat radiating from them ? I'm sure the camera is on a tripod and for safety your aways away from it. Great clear photography .......nice video!
Try to re rail one of these monsters loaded. Wide guage replacers wont do it. Hulchers can get them back on the rail. Real pain look at the double set of trucks under each end?
