America's Next Top Model Was TERRIBLE (Pt.1)😳😳😳 

I remember watching this as a young girl and I definitely didn't realize at that young how bad the show was until I was an adult. Just feels like they are subjecting these girls to awful conditions and abuse for views.

I used to love this show! But as soon be gotten older, I’m definitely understanding why a lot of ppl find it problematic. I was in a pageant, and it’s a very competitive world. I know the modeling world is even worse…but I also get that in the modeling industry ppl can be very mean and body shame and that’s terrible.

This show & the 2000’s was extremely problematic looking back. You have to talk about making the band!! That show was a mess

I used to love ANTM growing up but I always hate it when Tyra let the black women cut their natural long hair 😒 and it never sat right with me with the blackface.

I used to love this show when I was little. But, looking back now, it’s crazy how ANTM got away with exploiting these young women. And, yes! I couldn’t stand when Tyra would give a monologue about how she had to do “x,y,z,” so the models should be able to do it too. I eventually stopped watching it, but my favorite contestants were Bre Scullark, Tocorra Jones, and Eva Marcille

I used to watch this show when I was a little girl, and my mom would be in the room with me hating on it like "oh look at all those anorexic models. They need to eat a sandwich!". Like mom I know you're trying to make me feel better about being fat but you didn't have to shame other ladies to build me up! I felt like I had to secretly watch this show, cause watching this show and watching anything dealing with models, my mother always thin-shamed them. Mom you should have hated this show because of the abuse they're going through, not because they're models.

I remember watching this show when I was younger, I liked the photo shoot (at first) but hated the drama and then (quite quickly) I watched it out of boredom then quickly just stopped watching it. So very glad I stopped watching 'cause goodness this was horrific. Great video as always!

I use to watch this show back then. I’m so disgusted with myself honestly. Smoking mirrors are real! Everybody on that panel was Tyra reflection. People are you push out. So I’m not surprised. Especially me knowing better now. 10:16 🎯🎯🎯

Isn't it crazy how we watch TV with our mom's, sisters, girlfriends, and/or wives, and find ourselves sucked in sometimes? That's what happened with this show and _The Bad Girls Club_ with me.

I didn’t notice as a child watching this but thinking back I remember my mom saying all the photos looked the same and she didn’t understand Tyra. And watching those clips reminds me so much of my gaslighting manager the fake sympathy knowing darn well what they did

Tyra seems to have it out for BW. It’s crazy that she told Danielle that gap teeth aren’t cute and fitting for a model, only to put a gap in a WW’s teeth several seasons later. Her yelling at Tiffany because she wasn’t crying and broken over being eliminated was uncalled for; Tiffany was trying to be strong for the girls that were upset that she was leaving

The craziest part is that they made these girls go to extremes for pictures that went nowhere.

If you watching on certain streaming app, there is a missing episode. Hopefully you don’t skip over that one. Looking back at that show gave me all the reasons why I never cared for modeling. I think Tyra played the game how the industry wanted her to play.

I use to look forward to watching ANTM ..but now looking back Tyra put those girls through the ringer...the way Tyra talked to Tiffany was uncalled for..That made Tyra unlikable 😮

When I was quite young I was a "fan" of Tyra, and assumed she was a nice person after reading her book. When Top Model came out I quickly changed my mind. It was obvious to me that she was a bully. I knew one of the girls that went on the show and I already knew what she was in for. I didn't think it was a good way for an aspiring model to break into the industry. I thought it was better to just go directly to an agency with your portfolio and see if they want you or not. However what we know of the industry now, they are going to "haze/initiate", you in some extreme way behind the scenes anyway. The entire industry is horrid and Tyra is representing it accurately, people are just waking up in mass and finally checking them on it. I enjoyed the vid and hope you make more of these. There are still many people who act like the people on the panel and they really don't see anything wrong with it. Various new models especially dark skinned ones are still complaining of the same problems happening today...not enough has changed. It's still relevant to discuss.

A couple years back, RU-vid has videos that were an entire cycle in one video. I binged most of the cycles that way. Had to do it fast because they’d get taken down all the time. I was older so I found so much of it questionable, yet I couldn’t stop watching. Oliver Twixt’s interviews with the models and Jessica Kobeissi’s reactions and photographer perspectives really get into what was really going on. This was reality tv much more than actual modeling. They had to redo scenes of the girls didn’t act excited enough, clips were edited and voiceovers added.

I use to want to be a supermodel myself and I looked up to people like Tyra Banks. Now I'm older and wiser and see even though this show was entertaining and it was problematic too. I had a manager like Tyra. She literally mocked my headwraps and then said, "if you have any problems tell me." I told her she is my problem. They'll never change. She was such a mean girl but they always claim to be "nice and understanding". Lol but will bully you and gaslight you always. Nope stay away from them type.

I used to love Antm when i was younger but now i agree alot what said in this video and the situation with tiffany tyra said some stuff that was down right cruel telling her she can go home and sleep on a mattress with her baby and in another season 12 she and another girl went off on tyra and it didn't aired

Apparently Tiffany and her were going back and forth but they ended up editing it to make it seem like Tiffany was weak or something and she took that level of disrespect but she didn’t

To play devil's advocate, all the stuff ANTM did to the contestants isn't all Tyra's fault. She's only being blamed because she's the face of the show. The blame should be focused on the producers and the network for allowing this to happen. Tyra isn't the only person working on the show. It takes a village to make a show. The whole village should be hold accountable, not just Tyra.
