You got Georgia wrong. The original structure for The Pirate's House, located in Savannah, GA, was built in 1734, and first used as an inn and tavern in 1753. Obviously it wasn't a restaurant that entire time, but most of the one's on your list weren't either.
The oldest restaurant in Georgia is The Pirates house in Savannah, Georgia. Seven blocks west from where General Oglethorpe landed in 1733, our history begins. Savannah’s World Famous Pirates House is located on one of the most historic spots in Georgia. It was first opened in 1753 as an inn for seafarers, and fast became a meeting point for pirates and sailors from the Seven Seas. Since then, The Pirates House has been entertaining visitors with a bounty of delicious food, drink, and rousing good times! What happened to McCrady's Charleston? On April 30, 2020, Neighborhood Dining Group announced that McCrady's would remain closed permanently after its shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. McGrady’s restaurant opened in the 80s. It was not a continual restaurant the whole entire time. The oldest continuing operating restaurant in South Carolina is in Charleston . It is Henry’s On the Market. It opened in 1932.
The Griswold Inn is in Essex Connecticut, not the State of Essex or the county in Massachusetts. It is also not spelled Griswald. Did a bad version of A.I. put this video together?
I love historic buildings and I love eating at restaurants so this post was perfect for me. But I also love history and accuracy. I also like fair play. Some of these entries seemed based on incorrect data and inconsistent criteria. The title is "oldest restaurant in each state". But how did they make the decision on which was the oldest? The criteria seemed to shift from place to place. Some of the restaurants started out in buildings that originally housed other businesses, went through several transformations, and at a later point in time housed a restaurant. So the restaurant's date does not necessarily go back to the time when the building was originally built. It's an old restaurant housed in the oldest building in the state. I bet there are other restaurants in the state who could better qualify for the title of oldest. To be accurate, the restaurant should be the oldest one still operating, from the date it opened to today. Many on this video meet that criteria, but not all do. That's not fair play.
Good video (overall). Just riddled with *very* poor edits: incorrect locations (wrong states shown or weird maps), incorrect voiceovers, etc. Takes away from the video's credibility.
Another mistake, Pekin Noodle Parlor you say it's in Montana but you show Glur's Tavern, Nebraska in the name. And for Glur's tavern you show Pekin noodle parlors name.
The Columbia is definitely a must if you visit Florida. The 1905 salad can't be missed and the same with the Cuban sandwich. Never got to try the Paella though. And for those inclined, you can get hand-rolled cigars.
Did you shoot any of your own video or get permission from any of the original creators whose work you "borrowed" and it seems did not identify correctly?
For the Hays House in Kansas, you mentioned weary traders on an 8 week journey from New Mexico to Missouri, yet showed said traders traveling from Mexico, Missouri to some location in the Ozarks - in Missouri! I guarantee that wasn’t an 8 week trip! 🤦🏻♀️
27:07... You make reference to the civil war yet you show archive footage of Japanese soldiers on horseback from Japan which is perfectly obvious if you look in the background
Alaska: it's "seh-VEE-cheh," not "keh-VEE-cheh"! If you're making a video about restaurants and food, PLEASE make sure you at least pronounce the mentioned items correctly! SMH....
Lots of mistakes new Hudson inn is the oldest restaurant in Michigan opened 19 years before the white horse inn n you showed Bessemer Michigan on a map when talking about Bessemer Alabama
14:22 Nope....The best crab cakes in Maryland are NOT at Middleton Tavern. They are in my kitchen in Howard County. Everyone who has tried both agrees.
It is really becoming annoying how these content creators purposely pepper their videos with errors in order to generate more comments. Even I am guilty of adding to the posts as I call out their ploy.
This video is bullshit. Lots of places older in Colorado like the Silver Dollar in Leadville. I'm sure there are many other, but good job getting us to watch it & maybe go to these places.
I was JUST commenting that... The original structure for The Pirate's House, located in Savannah, GA, was built in 1734, and first used as an inn and tavern in 1753. Obviously it wasn't a restaurant that entire time, but most of the one's on this list weren't either.
This video was absolutely terrible 🤦 obviously you used AI heavily and you aren't from America because THERE IS NO STATE OF ESSEX 😂 Also you are missing a few states man lol.
This is so bad I am going to give it a thumbs down, something I almost never do. Time after time it says one thing about a place, then something else that makes the first thing a lie! Lazy lies and contradictions.
Yeah, but the interiors were Ybor. They should have made the distinction or just footage of the Ybor location. I suspect this is about quantity, not quality.
The Connecticut River is out in the Springfield area of the state of Mass. closer to NY State, it isn't in Essex Massachusetts, the Essex River is and lots of tidal marsh separates it from the Atlantic Ocean. A fourth graders should know this A1, learn your landscapes!
There is an Essex Connecticut. And it is at the end of the River. The Essex you are thinking of, yes, is North of Boston and has some of the Best Seafood anywhere.
Watching from Hartford CT. The Griswold Inn is in Essex Connecticut. The map shown in the video is incorrect. It's located on the Connecticut River near the mouth close to Old Saybrook.
Here we go: (1) as others have pointed out, Essex is not a state!!! (2) The Sycamore Inn in California also began in 1849, so who knows which came first. Just something to keep in mind! (3) The J. Huston Tavern in Arrow Rock, Missouri closed for good earlier this year after, as the fake narrator pointed out, several years in operation.
You got the wrong Essex. The Griz is at the base of the Connecticut River. In Essex Connecticut. It is not the one in Massachusetts. Fur fuck's sake mon!
Dear Takeoutery, Oark General Store in Oark Arkansas is pronounced Oh-Ark, Not Ork. I hope you can fix the voice over because it's important. No one would ever call it Ork.
