I'm also in the UK and you can see it coming. You are absolutely right. Unaffordable housing. Prices of everything sky high. No one can afford luxuries anyone nevermind a holiday. We were warned by America 30+ years ago that heroin would hit our streets and to be prepared. Did we listen . NO we put out a televised song " just say no" ( to drugs) with kids from a popular tv series performing it. which only intrigued the younger generations. It made them curious. Every one of the now addicts thought it wouldn't get a grip of them. Now look. We've got a generation of people that have addiction, mental health issues not to mention all the things that go with addiction. Ie crime and the debilitating illness. So to say it'll come eventually is fact. We just don't have the expanse of streets for ppl to pitch tents and congregate like in Kensington and skid row. Thank god we didn't get the crystal meth epidemic. Let's hope we don't see fentanyl, although I have heard there's been small amounts in larger cities . I can't even imagine living on streets lined with the homeless, mentally ill and addicts. It's a country in crisis and to just move them on for appearance sake is barbaric. America you need to do better for your people less fortunate.

These people don't want help

Kensington is known for that. It's where all the homeless addicts congregate because it's an open air drug market. The cops also don't arrest people for doing drugs in that specific area. I have never heard of a place other than kensington where they don't arrest people for using drugs. So this place is like heaven for addicts They have places that help in kensington, but most of the addicts don't want help. I have never in my life seen a place as bad as kensington regarding drug addiction and homelessness, maybe skid row. Just brutally sad down there.
