1980 visits, i feel lucky to know that i love the good music such as this song, not all the jewerlys are for all the people, just for the people that knows of the life of the music, i really appreciate this jewerly song...
If you're talking about History: America's Greatest Hits, that collection came out in '75 and this song came out in '83, so that's why it's not included. (Assuming they didn't put out another more comprehensive collection sometime in the 80s).
Hi @user.., 2 years late, but I believe the video is symbolic of the "Chinese checkers" game that the two are playing at the end (red and blue balls = the color of the game marbles)
I really like the music, rhythm, and beat...but they could have sped up the termpo and reworked the lyrics into a song about a girl maybe even the girl's name in the chorus instead of border like "if I could make it to you, Rachel" or "if I could make it to ya, Kelly" instead of singing about the border.
From the album Your Move. Perhaps they were playing Chinese Checkers when they came up with the name for the album? LOL. Ever see Spandau Ballet's video for "Gold"? I have NO idea what that is about. Imagine hearing these songs back in the 1980s and not having access to cable, thus no MTV. Then seeing these songs 35 years later on RU-vid with totally weird meanings.
@terrybardy7294 In "Chinese checkers" the strategy is to try and get your marbles to the opposite star board (home) before the opponent does the same. The border is another term for home. Both terms are symbolic of a special woman in their lives.
So many great tunes that most ppl never heard of. Go check out their newer albums including Hourglass, Human Nature, Here & Now, and Lost & Found. There are so many wonderful songs on all these albums.
John 3 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
