Super weird. Reminds me of the Nickelodeon director who had a foot fetish and did a lot of foot scenes in his shows. They should look into who ever suggested this idea.
The way I see it is that American pizza is basically a full meal on a bit of bread, whereas Italian pizza is comfort food that substitutes a full meal and works just as well.
Oh yeah , food 😋 and pizza 🍕 in particular , Italian food for me always will be the best , I loved this video , make one with Andrea and Spanish food 🇪🇸 ( also delicious )
I really love Paella~😋 Spanish food feels familiar to the Far East Asians who eat rice as a staple food. Personally, I hope there'll be more Spanish restaurants in South Korea than now.
Italian cuisine is probably the most overrated cuisine of the world (sorry, Italians). It's so boring and repetitive, but people treat it as if it was something special. I personally think Spanish, Greek and Portuguese food is the best in Europe. Unfortunately, for some reason, they are not as popular around the world as Italian and French food.
@@luksavat7750 For your information, Italian food is popular in South Korea, while French food is popular in Japan right next door. While some Korean don't like Bouillabaisse, the representative food of Marseille, most Japanese eat Bouillabaisse very well.
@@luksavat7750 Italian food is only boring and repetitive if you think it's all spaghetti with red sauce and pizza. Unfortunately, this is what most people think. In reality, it is incredibly diverse and varied.
@@gregmuon Steve Jobs said during his lifetime when he was dining with the French president. "Is there any Italian food here? The food I ate in Italy last time was very delicious."
As an Italian I love pizza! I would like to tell you one thing, Margherita is usually the standard pizza in Italy but there are many different pizzas, better, complex and divine, for example one of the best you could eat is without tomato sauce but with a base of local mozzarella (god like), chunks of Robiola cheese, a real Italian mortadella (god like) and the best Bronte pistachio pesto, one bite of this and it sends you to heaven. Almost all pizzerias and restaurants make it (with some variations), try it if you get the chance.
It doesn't really make sense to compare an american pepperoni to an italian margherita instead of american pepperoni vs italian pepperoni or american margherita vs italian margherita. It's generally true that american pizzas are heavier with the toppings but to play on the stereotype of the "lighter" italian one by using one without toppings is kinda misleading. Also: margherita might be the basic version but it's most definitely not the most commonly eaten pizza in italy, the vast majority of italians prefer pizza with toppings, only a minority of pizzas ordered are margheritas.
I totally agree, I too would have preferred the comparison was made between pizzas with the same ingredients but of different origin and processing to notice the difference in quality. By "standard" I didn't mean the most eaten but the most famous around.
@@waltroskoh8650 It does not have a unique name, in every restaurant you could find it with different names but you recognize it immediately because the main ingredients are Mortadella and Pistachio pesto
You said right. tot diff level.. in my side piza is not a junky processed food but healt one with our local protect products, Plus cant call pizza a food just because the shape is circular. And need to say also in italy not all pizzas are the real one. Big Up fron Napoli.
Only if you get the super supreme pizza or whatever. There’s Chicago style, New York style, Detroit style, those are the main ones but there’s probably a dozen others like Boston style
The American pizza looks....just awful. As a greek person I like the real Italian pizza or the greek of course. The secret is that we use fresh n pure ingredients! At least more fresh than other countries. But if course the Italian one is the best of the best!
Being Italian I think I'm biased but I'll try be the most objective: Italy and America seems to have a different philosophy making pizza; Italians try to have flavours that compliment each other but try to remain simple (I think the most ingredient I ever saw on a pizza is 8 for capricciosa, but most of the time it's between 3 and 6) while americans are more like "the more the better". Also, Italians spend a LOT, and I mean A LOT of time sperimenting with different leavening. Last, but not least, is the quality of the ingredients: it doesn't matter if it's Italian or American, bad ingredients will always make a pizza taste bad, using fresh ingredients it's the key to success
I like the idea of experimenting with the leavening, how small changes can make such a big difference in texture and eating experience. Also I agree! The best pizzas are always made with the freshest ingredients! Being american I think the attitude towards pizza can often be innovation too. Because while chain restaurants tend to offer just a few different flavors (which the american in the video did a great job of describing), it's not uncommon for local pizza restaurants to serve creative flavors such as spicy tikka masala, pb&j, bbq chicken, or pear & gorgonzola and there is variety not only in flavor and crust, as I understand there is also in Italy, but also presentation. For example one restaurant I visited serves salad on top of the pizza - but it's not sold separately, it's actually considered part of the toppings on the pizza. I appreciate that you took the time to write your thoughts and about the philosophy behind pizza in Italy. Now I appreciate pizza even more :)
Vivo all' estero e non in america.
Growing up we always teased my dad because he ate his pizza with a knife and fork. He was very neurotic about getting food grease on his hands. He also ate French fries with a fork too. 😂
My favourite pizza looks like a compost heap but supposedly it tastes better: Parma ham, buffalo mozzarella, aurugula (AE)/rocket (BE) and cherry tomatoes. Yummy!
The American Pizza looks like a shitty Domino's pizza or something, a more fair comparison would be a real local NY cheese slice that you have to fold in half, that would be a much more fair comparison to the Italian Margherita style because they would both have "homemade" quality to them
Also, it doesn't really make sense to compare an american pepperoni to an italian margherita instead of american pepperoni vs italian pepperoni or american margherita vs italian margherita. It's generally true that american pizzas are heavier with the toppings but to play on the stereotype of the "lighter" italian one by using one without toppings is kinda misleading. Also: margherita might be the basic version but it's most definitely not the most commonly eaten pizza in italy, most people find it fine but a bit bland, the vast majority of italians prefer pizza with toppings, only a minority of pizzas ordered are margheritas.
Unannounced ASMR is an aural assault for many people. I couldn't his the stop button fast enough when I realized that's what this video was going to be. I hope the channel producers learn from this. Would you throw in nails on a chalkboard or gunshots on a whim?
What is your favorite typical dishes? -As American Pizza. What about you? -As Italian Pizza. Yeah but are pizza is better Yeah but are pizza has the color of the Italy flag.
The Coca apart , 'cause I don't drink it , I would love to eat pizza with these beautiful and lovely ladies , such a good video , Giulia already has my heart ♥ , a very nice Italian member
I am intrigued, why the whispering? it was nice and looked like a commercial spot but didnt get why? Also, having tried both types of pizza, i can say that both are good and depends on your apetite and what do you like at the moment....sometimes a thin simple pizza is the best and sometimes a full meats pizza can be a pleasure to eat...
Italian here. I'm sure there are good pizzeria in Usa too, however the real secret of the italian/Mediterranean diet have nothing to do with Pasta or Pizza. It's the vegetables/fruits, specially vegetables.
not only vegetables, pasta and pizza have a fundamental role, their ability to provide correct nutritional values is due to the fact that the raw ingredients, the recipes and the preparation integrate the Mediterranean diet in the best way, do not forget however that in Italy we have a great tradition in various types of meat, in fish...
Yankee pizza follows the logic to us, in being a breakfast a dinner, is very huge pizza. Italian pizza is a soft pizza, follows the logic in being a lunch.🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🍟🍟🍟🍟🍷🍷🍷🍷 so im hungry.
@@shrektheswampless6102 We know this italian loves love pizza for afternoon snack and dinner. To lunch they love eat calzones and nhocs and spaguettis.
@@Hrng270 pizza is not a snack😂 so no one eats pizza in the afternoon and is usually eaten Saturday evening, il calzone is a kind of pizza so it's not eaten for lunch either. Usually Italians for lunch eat pasta, rice, or a panino.
Pizza is Pizza! I love it all! Depending on my mood and craving, different types. Love love pizza. Right now, this very second... that Italian pizza here looks fantastic!
High quality Italian pizza is far better. They focus on quality tomatoes, cheese and flour. Where American pizza uses canned sauce, packaged cheese and regular flour. It's a lower quality pizza.
Why are they whispering. Seriously, stop. I thought they told them to stop, and then they did it again. Italian pizza does have sauce that is too sweet.
It’s funny how used to process pizza we all get. I never really understood it until my husband started making pizza from scratch only following Italian recipes and sourcing the correct flours from Italy etc. We ate his pizza for a year or so. One day we were lazy and ordered pizza. The same one we used to have before he started making his own and OMG we everyone including my children kept saying that it tasted like eating cardboard and some chemical we couldn’t pinpoint. We had 4 different pizzas on the table and they all tested so artificial. I couldn’t believe how we were so used to that taste at one stage that we actually thought it used to test good.
Hi, with your insightful and sincere comment you have explained in a few lines all the differences that characterize Italian pizza from other clumsy foreign imitations. In short, Italian cuisine is always and only based on fresh, high quality ingredients, knowledge and love in preparation, it is the style of the Italian way for a better life. cheers from Rome
I had to skip at 2:02 , what was the problem with the audio? All was so quiet and so loud at the same time before 2 minutes in the video, it disturbed me
The gloves put on is a complete disconnection in case of food. Manufacturing and exports shouldn't lead the factory practices at the table. Any object can never be more organic and healthy and washed hands.
I’m sure different people have different taste. Personally I didn’t like the pizza I had in Italy. I didn’t like the cheese because I thought it was too salty. I don’t like thin crust either. I was surprised I didn’t like it. I make my pizza at home on French bread. This isn’t uncommon in the pizza in the USA. I also use pesto sauce not tomato. I put on spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms. 😋
Depend were you have eat pizza. In Italy there are 2 type of pizza: Roman style that have thin crost and neapoletan style that are thicker and soft. For the cheese,i don't know what you have eat but probably was not mozzarella, because mozzarella have a very delicate taste. In italy we put pesto on top too,in particular with shrimp. And the various combination of pizza with mashrooms its very common. So i don't know where you eat pizza in italy, probably in turistic place,i guess.
I don‘t want to be rude. French bread with pesto sounds good and I would definitely eat it as well, but I personally wouldn‘t call that a Pizza 😅 And for the pizza you had in italy: I think you went to a not great, touristy pizza place. Cause the cheese that is normally on italian pizzas is Mozzarella and that is not really a salty cheese. I think you just had bad luck with your Pizza in Italy
"italian pizza" just don't exist, every region in Italy makes it different and if you think that, when in Italy, you'll find good pizza everywhere you are just totally wrong..For example if you say that the cheese was too salty you just went to a crappy pizzeria...
@@francesco7305 Concordo in pieno su tutto.
It will be similar if you order it in a restaurant that knows what it's doing (like a high-end Italian restaurant), but it's a toss-up at any-old random U.S. pizzeria because the ingredient quality may not be good enough and the oven/baking style is likely to be different.
There are some good spots for Neapolitan pizza in USA. There are couple great chains from Italy. I'd use those as a reference to judge the independent Neapolitan pizzerias in USA.
Here in Germany you can buy pizza margherita everywhere but even here it's hard to find one that comes close to the pizza in Italy. Much luck finding one in the US
I cannot fathom a situation in which you give someone two slices of pizza, one American and one Italian, and have the person actually TRULY believe that the Italian one tastes better. American food just tastes better. That's why we are fat. Because we maximized the deliciousness of our food by minimizing the healthiness of it. Or, we took the food from other cultures and made it better. So it's harder to stop eating it. BECAUSE IT TASTES BETTER. Everyone intuitively knows this, but they like to pretend like they don't for the sake of contrarianism.
@@GenghisClaus just because American food has more calories doesn't mean it taste better. I believe that the most delicious food are in most cases the one you grew up with. A lot of unhealthy food in US is subsidised so it's cheaper that healthy food. The country is also built for cars so they walk or exercise as much as many others.
@@GenghisClaus of course Italian pizza is gonna taste better they invented it That’s like saying Taco Bell tastes better than authentic Mexican cuisine American pizza is great but Italy is the birthplace of pizza so obviously theirs is gonna be better by default
@@madnessarcade7447 After reading all the replies here, I have to say I agree with all of them. I do think we have made food quicker and cheaper at the expense of quality. Having said that, just because there are microwavable pizzas at our local gas station, it doesn't mean there aren't also pizza that has been tweaked to perfection at a ma and pop pizzeria. Also, where Italians may feel they need to stick to the book and prepare pizza in a certain way, Americans have the freedom to experiment and make things taste better or worse because taste is subjective.
We have shit tomatoes in the US which is ironic considering they're native to the Americas and weren't even in Europe until the late 15th century. The soil is completely depleted and mass produces empty garbage. The wheat is very different too, and of course the dairy is lower quality. If you followed the exact same preparation method it would never be as good. You have to use imported ingredients which means canned tomatoes either way.
Italian pizza = simple, light, less processed/fresher ingredients America pizza = complex, heavy, more processed ingredients Im a fan of both, but you really can't go wrong with a Pizza Margherita.
We make pizzas out of everything. You can get actual breakfast pizza here, scrambled eggs and bits of breakfast sausage with cheddar and mozzarella cheese on a crust. It's awesome.

i love pizza with a good flavour profile, so if the various flavours compliment each other, i wouldn't mind it if it was a little heavier on the toppings. that being said, i also like the simpler tastes, and Italians understand perfectly the "there is beauty in simplicity".
