Great video. I definitely think all airlines need to make the 787 window shading optional for passengers. Being able to control your own window gives power to the customer and will create more satisfaction. Glad to see American is taking the lead.
Outstanding trip report. It's cool to see the water salute from the Skylink train. I love the 787's window, but it'd be better if the crew don't lock them
I had my first flight in my life, from Dallas FortWort (DFW) to Chicago (ORD) about 2 weeks ago and it was in that same aircraft and in the same seat, what a coincidence😊 I loved your review, good job 👏🏼🙌🏼
I want to love this plane yet I flew from HNL to DFW and they turned off the windows for the entire flight unitl landing. Even though it was night I like looking out the window seeing stars, ships in the ocean, the moon, shooting stars and city lights. It was such a bummer.
Did they check to see if you got covid tested? I’m going to be flying soon domestic from DFW to California. I’ve been researching and getting so many different answers.
They do not. No one checks while traveling domestically, all you have to do is just verify on check-in that you don't have any symptoms. The check is literally just agreeing "yes" or "no" if you have experienced symptoms.
Another awesome video! Water Canon salute! Eager to go to the Company Store, love that Dreamliner shirt! Pleasant flight outside of window shade tint for cruise, glad their addressing that. What. A. Approach! Can’t understand how much height difference those buildings have from many perspectives but this is one of them! Lake Michigan looking finer than ever! LH 748! Excited for more to come!
Thanks a lot Connor, I'm surprised you haven't visited the Employee Store yet you must visit it next time! Albeit the models they have are all Skymarks that are heavily overpriced ($75 for a 1:200 777-300ER) but still they have great stuff. From what I know the height difference has to be at least 3,000ft between the skyscrapers when we do the approach, it's not much actually.
@@ASAviation I didn’t even learn about it till late last year! 🤦♂️ I was planning to on my DFW/PHX Day Trip on my last layover but my PHX NEO got in late so I would have had to sacrifice Skylink or Dinner, I thought the Company Store would be there next time so I’m pumped to make an appearance there! Watching back it isn’t as big as I thought, still very nice to see them from this perspective though!
This video I really appreciate. Scheduled to fly this exact aircraft type, pandemic doom pending, from LA to Tokyo in February. Scored a deal for $300 round trip out of STL. SO excited for the trip. Even though it’s economy class.
$300 all the way to Tokyo?? That's insane man, enjoy it! Economy on the 789 isn't bad as I hope you saw it from this video, hopefully your flight goes okay!
Preferred seats are weird. UA has those too. A seat 2 rows ahead will cost 24.00 dollars more on UA. There are even middle seats that cost 24.00 dollars more than aisle seats that are 2 rows back. I bought one for 24.00 dollars more be on a 737-800 on UA because they only had the last row empty for regluar cost seats and i wasn't sure about that for a 3.5 hour flight. I chose one that had a preferred middle seat next to me. That preferred middle seat 1 or 2 rows from regular seats is going to be one of the last purchased. No sense in buying it unless there are no other seats open. It was not used in my flight so i had more room on the flight. My seat was probably better than a ecocomy plus seat with all 3 seats taken. I am not tall so the extra pitch isn't as big of a deal but I would still prefer more pitch.
Thank you! Normally AA is my go to airline when flying on solo trips because they are literally the only airline flying to my hometown airport of CMI. Otherwise honestly I prefer United overall.
Thanks a lot Todor! I set my GoPro to 1080p60 and film using the “linear” setting. Wide angle is fine too I guess, but “linear and horizon leveling” I wouldn’t recommend for takeoff/landing.
Flying AA for the first time in less than 2 weeks, and on a 787 no less (followed by an Oasis 737 😑), both flights in economy, so we'll see how it goes (usually a Delta flyer). Now I know what to expect!
Being a Delta flyer, I can definitely say you won't enjoy the Oasis 737, but the 787 I hope you'll find it nice if you haven't flown it before! On the flip side, I usually am an AA and UA flyer living near Chicago but I'm flying Delta in about 10 days which I'm excited for as they're definitely the best in the US.
@@ASAviation Appreciate it! It will also be my first 787 too. Would have flown it in March 2020 from LAX to Heathrow with Virgin Atlantic for work, but that obviously got canceled :( Purposefully picked a seat on the sunny side of the flight to see how well those dimmed windows work with the sun shining through (usually avoid the sunny side).
Sadly this is an issue widespread across the entire US carriers. I flew United this past weekend, both times the seat was dirty along with the traytable. Thanks for watching!!
