Hi World Friends 🌏! We hope you have enjoyed our video! Don't forget to follow our instagram account for upcomings, as well as our casts'! 🌏 World Friends / worldfriends01 🇺🇸 Hunter / modelstampseoul 🇬🇧 Emanuel / eman.uel.kr
Now two guys , this is new , after so many videos with US girls ( Christina , Callie , Ellie , Emma, Hallie...) and UK girls ( Lauren , Hannah , Cady...) we have two guys 🇬🇧🇺🇸
IKR but I'm loving it I love the USA 🇺🇸 Women (Christina,Cali,Ellie N Emma N Lauran,Hallie N Hannah from the UK 🇬🇧 (there have been guys on here before but in groups with other people (there used to be two guys like the girls but not in a long time)
for anyone confused… the united kingdom is made of of great britain (england, scotland and wales) and northern ireland… it’s full name is “the united kingdom of great britain and northern ireland… “ireland” is actually “the republic of ireland” which does NOT include northern ireland, but the island of ireland DOES include northern ireland.
The stars on the US flag represent the 50 states. The stipes represent the original 13 colonies. Would have been 15, but we couldn't convince Spain's colonies to join us. As far as the colors go. Red is for bravery, white is for freedom, and blue is for courage. Starbucks is actually terrible coffee. It's just trendy.
I think it depends on which part of the US its in. The pacific northwest is great for coffee. I think most people here are quite skilled, even at Starbucks. If you're in like the Midwest or something then yea I can see how it would probably be shit. That being said, I mostly drink tea (London Fog especially) at Starbucks so perhaps I'm not the best judge.
Guys. This is filmed in South Korea. That would explain the accents, the mistaken facts and the "strange" choice of footwear which I saw some people mentioning. They've probably lived in SK for a while, which would change your accent if you're always speaking Korean etc.
Does not explain the mistaken facts though, they lived way longer in their native countries for sure, but the British guy seems to know nothing about his culture ( I mean of course The Republic of ireland is not in the UK)
The name that i know is United Kindom of Grait Britain and Northern Ireland , the countries are England , Wales , Scotland and North Ireland , the Ireland isn't part of this , North Ireland is part of UK
@@stinkygremlin267 ...you say tomato, I say tahmahto...you call them Anglo Celtic Isles..go for it. I will refer to them as the British Isles. I personally would omit the ROI..I just call that nation Ireland. But if you seriously ask most English speakers to identify your nation..it would not be the 'Anglo Celtic Isles'..Northern Ireland remains an integral part of the U.K.
Where is the American guy from? His accent is so sounds so different then where I’m from in the south or from anyone I’ve ever heard? He sounds Dutch to me and the way he explains the flag such as the 50 “unions” not the 50 states or not putting “the” before USA.
@@larsradtke4097 I think the reason some of us are thinking Dutch or German is because those two languages sound “harsh” to most American ears. his accent is giving me a bit of harshness. My auntie and her family speak Dutch as their first language and they all sound guttural. Also I think most of us who are commenting on the accent think his sounds like a blend of accents and are curious about his phrasing choices.
It seems these two guys didn't grow up in either the UK nor the US even I a non-native speaker have a better British accent and know more about the uk!
So in conclusion, my young British compatriot knows sod all about the UK and half of nothing about the US 🙄 the board of education have a lot to answer for since the turn of the century 😉
I really would love to know where the American is from. He has a strong accent and interesting ways of phrasing things. Was he born in America but raised in another country? Or, is he hyphenated: like a German-American or something?
If he identified as a German-American, I would assume he would have an actual accent. My family emigrated to the U.S. in the 1840s from Germany, but we don't self identify as 'German-American'. I am an American of German heritage. I'm sure my family at an early point was 'hyphenated'..it's part of the transition. We had to transition, otherwise this nation could have never waged war against Imperial Germany and Nazi Germany as our largest ethnic group is German.
That guy definitely didn’t grow up in the U.S. He either came here and became a citizen or his parents did and he’s a first generation American. That accent is found nowhere in the U.S. He almost sounds Dutch to me.
Hey he said he’s north western I’ve never been to that part of the country so maybe that’s how they talk their. I’m from Oklahoma and I know that sounds strange to me but definitely not as annoying as the California accent. Atleast this guy is well educated and doesn’t sound like a complete moron when he opens his mouth like I see on a lot of other channel where they interview Americans on the street.
Is the American an immigrant? He has what seems like a slight foreign accent, I keep hearing a tinge of German maybe. Also, It's really interesting how many videos I've seen of foreigners being quizzed on how many states the U.S. has and they all seem to say 51 or 52. I wonder where the misconception comes from. Maybe they're counting U.S. territories? Loved the video, keep'em coming!
I was wondering that as well. Also, when he said the stars represented the “50 unions” which I think anyone raised entirely in America would just automatically say “the 50 states.”
They both sounded a bit "off." It's almost like one of those videos the channel does where they have various English speaking nationalities trying to do a different country's accent. 🙂
I looked up marmite and from the description of the taste I’m about 99 percent sure I wouldn’t like it. I go to Starbucks to chill. I usually take a novel or my laptop. I’ve seen them in South America too. But SB is kind of yuppie vibe for me at least in the USA. I prefer locally owned coffeehouses. The ones I go to often have acoustic musicians and have board games/puzzles for people to join in together to play. They also are decorated with a like funky hippie style with the works from local artists.
I’m sorry but the 3 lions is for England’s team 🏴, not the non-existent ‘UK team’ 🇬🇧 We don’t play in football tournaments as the UK. There is no UK football team It’s England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. (Republic of Ireland isn’t part of the UK)
Wait a minute Hunter says he’s American yet there are so many basic things that he does not know. In addition his accent sound’s like he’s from somewhere else and moved to the United States. By the way the 50 stars represent the 50 states not the 50 unions the stripes represent the 13 original colonies. If you’re gonna bring somebody on the show to represent United States find somebody who is actually from US.
@C.U.P so you think the 50 stars on the flag represent the 50 unions, seriously? I’ve been to every state in the US except for Mississippi Arkansas Alabama and North Dakota and that accent doesn’t sound like any of them. It is possible that his accent has been impacted by living abroad for a while but it does still sounds strange.
@C.U.P All due respect, but I’ve never met an American who argued about whether or not Alaska or Hawaii are states. Also, there are tons of different accents within the US, yes. But that doesn’t sound like one of them.
@C.U.P No born and bred American has his accent. Literally none. If you have his accent, you were not born in this country, or your parents were not from here. It’s unfathomable for it to be any other way.
Wow. Nice to see the fellas taking over a segment and getting some love. Welcome to World Friends guys. You two are some cutie patooties. 😊 I’m trying to place Hunter’s accent. I noticed he said he is from USA not “the”USA which isn’t common for most Americans. He sounds slightly German or Dutch to me But that may come from living abroad for awhile. Yes our flag has 50 stars representing the states and 13 stripes representing the number of colonies that broke away from British rule. 😊
I’m glad I’m not the only one who can’t place his accent. I’m trying to figure out if he’s the son of immigrants or if he’s from another country OR if he’s just from somewhere that I’ve NEVER HEARD
@@codygates7418 There was another lady named Emma who I thought had immigrants for parents but she commented that because she has lived abroad around non English speakers for awhile it had affected her accent, inflection and speech rhythm. So maybe that’s what is up with Hunter. If you are around a group of people long enough you tend to pick up their way of speaking to various degrees. Also if Hunter is bilingual that could be a factor if he’s barely speaking English over there. I’m bilingual and my accent is different depending on the language I’m speaking. I did study abroad in Mexico and found myself starting to forget common words in English because I wasn’t speaking it as much. The brain is complex organ.
I'm assuming he's just lived in Korea for so long he's lost a bit of his American accents. His rhythm and melody when speaking sounds really Korean to me and since this is filmed in SK that would make a lot of sense.
@@anndeecosita3586 I'm half Mexican (born in the US though) and since my grandmother/family from Mexico barely speak any English I'm always switching between the two which is pretty neat I'd say. I could speak 2 1/2 languages my Srpski is still pretty bad lmao!
Great Britain is the island that comprises England, Wales and Scotland. The UK is the country that includes those 3 + Northern Ireland and many other islands surrounding them. Ireland is an independent state since 1922.
Wait hunter is from the US right? But do my ears deceive me or does he have an accent? I can’t put my finger on it but sounds unique. I’m from Southern California and I’ve never heard someone talk like that lol
No American that was born here to American parents sounds like that so either he is an immigrant or his parents were. Either way it’s a weird choice for someone to represent the U.S. with a foreign accent.
@@thespankmyfrank Hmmmm you think? There’s another American RU-vidr I watch (World of Dave) and he’s been living in Korea for over 10 years now and when he talks in English he still has his American accent but maybe everyone is different I suppose.
“50 unions” I’m not sure this guy is fully American. Any average American would have said “50 states” cause that’s what the stars actually represent. He also have a slight foreign accent. It wouldn’t surprise me if he grew up somewhere else and migrated to the US when he was a teenager.
As an Arizonan American that BLOODY adore Brits, the lad's eyes are just SMASHING GORGEOUS @ 4:30 just to be random! 😇 It's amazing how we're considered the Brits' middle sibling as Canada is considered are youngest sibling yet we have so much in common but in different ways. We not only speak English and having both beautiful flags but also how we're diverse countries as well as come from many different ethnic backgrounds. ☺ One of the only things I mainly know about Great Britain is the Queen of England of course and her guards, the Big Ben which makes me emotional hearing when it rings, Sherlock Holmes / Harry Potter, & also The Underground subway they have which I always dreamt of visiting! Oh yes, my state has The London Bridge up in Lake Havasu as a mini version of The Main London Bridge that the Brits given to us as a gift! 💖
The London Bridge you mentioned isn't just a miniature version or whatever. It's the actual bridge before the new one was built. A rich American man bought it and rebuilt it over there. The history of the London Bridge is actually pretty interesting because it's been rebuilt several times and the current one is boring as hell, but people go there because they confuse it with some of the more iconic bridges, like Tower Bridge.
Lion is the symbol of royalty (no matter which country you go). Red-White-Blue are also Freemasonic colours that date back to the royal blood lines. Occult colours of the rulers very closely related to the Lion symbol (original dates back to ancient Egypt and the 2 Pharao Kingdoms, the Red House and the White House and blue was the colour of the war crown).
Just to clarify, great Britain is the island that contains England Scotland and Wales, the UK is the union of the countries of great Britain and Northern Ireland
This is not correct 😅 Great britain is just the name of the largest island, composed of wales, england and scotland and the UK includes these 3 countries plus northern Ireland ( and the republic of Ireland is not part of it of course)
lol why did they ask him where starbucks was founded, who knows that lol, also I'm surprised the one guy hasn't tried chai its pretty popular in America or at least in the west coast area.
This could be myth, but I read somewhere that Benjamin Franklin wanted to make the turkey the American national bird. A practical choice at the time since turkey was an important source of food. He understood that bald eagles are essentially pretty vultures. The turkey as a symbol isn't exactly inspiring and he got voted down.
As a Scottish person I’d just like to point out that ‘the three lions’ is just the English football team, there is no ‘UK’ national football team , England, Scotland , Wales and Northern Ireland all compete seperately Also Great Britain (GB) = Scotland, England and Wales United Kingdom (UK) = Scotland , England, Wales and Northern Ireland Ireland (aka Republic of Ireland) is neither Part of GB or UK
Did he say Ireland is part of Great Britain?? Is he really British?? Jeeeesus. That's embarrassing. Sorry, Irish people. For those who don't know: Great Britain is formed by the countries of England, Scotland and Wales. United Kingdom is formed by the countries of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The United Kingdom is not part of the European Union anymore after Brexit but it's still a European country. Ireland is an amazing country full of amazing people that is included in the European Union. Ireland uses the € and is also a European country. In future we'll probably see a united Ireland, and Scotland and Wales as two separated countries from the UK which is something that many people want. Then the rest would be called just England.
@@Heimdall1987 no he named the supposed UK countries (the countries people think are in the UK,) and says that Ireland is not to be talked about. "We don't talk about Ireland" aka it's not part of it.
Stop saying Chai Tea. It's Chai or tea. Chai literally means tea. When you say. "Chai tea", you're basically saying tea tea. And that's just dumb. Don't do that.
Great Britain doesn’t includes Ireland or norther Ireland lol, British that doesn’t know how his country is distributed UK: 🏴 🏴 🏴 and Norther Ireland Great Britain: 🏴 🏴 🏴 British islands: 🏴 🏴 🏴 🇮🇪 and Northern Ireland
I'm Australian. I always knew the stars on the US flag represented the 50 states, but didn't know the stripes represented 13 original colonies. Our flag has an 8-pointed star representing the 6 states & 2 mainland territories. It also has a cross-shaped arrangement of stars representing the Southern Cross constellation, which you can see in the southern hemisphere night sky.
Emanuel has Mick Jagger's accent, and it's funny, he kind of looks like he could be his grandson too. Is it possible Hunter's parents emigrated to the USA or he emigrated himself from South Africa or maybe Scandanavia, and they/he moved to Wisconsin or Minnesota? Tough accent to pinpoint. I felt like he was trying too hard to be literal with the flag explanation, most people would say the 50 stars represent 50 states, but Virginia, for example, is a commonwealth, so he may have picked the word unions to try to cover both situations, I'm not sure.
Is it me or the girls on all the other vídeos like to talk about the topic calmly and these men just go straight to the next topic as if they were in a hurry? Maybe I just got used to the previous videos pace, but this one was a bit shocking
Is it just me or does the British guy have a French accent ? I'm French myself and when I hear French people speak English, they sometimes sound like this. Or perhaps I have this feeling because his name is very French lol
