Bunny is pretty but EL has that IT FACTOR. I could look at him and see he would be the break out star of the group. They all are beautiful but like in most groups there will be one that stands out more than the rest. That's El.
We need to kill the cruel comments on here! ANDROGYNY was a HUGE part of pop culture in the 1980s... so that explains the big hair and flashy styles of clothing. Remember Prince, Michael J, California New Wave, Punks from The UK, MTV artists, etc. This was all a part of the act back then. I especially love James D. This is where Don Cornelius got the idea for Soul Train, though. and by the 80s, while Soul Train dominated the national dance shows, Bandstand would actually sometimes show up and out with music selections and artists that never made ST, but should've.

I know i'm super late to this convo, but you're so right Peachy King. I read Tommy's book and I think James might've been molested as well by one of the siblings due to their father treating James the best out of all the kids. Their father was sick and their mother a weak foolish woman. Ain't no way in hell id let my husband (Christian or not) do what he did to my kids without poisoning his food. Not that much submission in this world. They were all so messed up and used drugs to cope with the hell they were subjected to from the 2 people who were supposed to protect them.
