Is anything cooler than CCR in 1969…. or anytime
There‘s a nice group of long-time regulars dancing together among all the new faces here in ‘69. At the beginning of “Cross-Tie Walker” you can see the backs of Don Sanuskar and Frank Vanderpuil (in the sport coat) dancing with Karen Sudlow and Robbin Miller respectively, with Roni Menacker to our left and also seen at 0:14.
Although Solomon Burke’s 1969 cover of “Proud Mary” wasn’t nearly as popular as CCR’s, it may have been on Dick Clark‘s mind as Solomon sang it on Bandstand just 4 months ago back on May 24th.
“Proud Mary” is one of the 5 CCR songs that peaked at #2 (they never had a #1 song on Billboard), doing so back in March. “Cross-Tie Walker” is one of the tracks on CCR’s new album “Green River”. The album also features the songs “Green River”, “Lodi”, “Commotion” and “Bad Moon Rising”. My favorite CCR song is “Looking Out My Backdoor”. What’s yours?
In movie news - the highest grossing film of 1969, “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” will premiere in 3 days on Sept. 23.
I hope the blues they send to meet you won’t defeat you. It won’t be long till happiness steps up to greet you…. hopefully sooner than later!
Thank you for watching and thank you for helping your neighbors during these trying times by wearing a mask and distancing. Peace & Love

We didn’t care about race in the 60s and early 70s. We all blended together with similar music dreams and aspirations. We all wanted the same thing. Love happinesss a family and a good life. We black and white wanted a good world; no wars; and a way for everyone to get together. And when we grew up to have a good prosperous life and all people would love one another and get along. That’s hothead philosophy of the baby boomers. Born in the 50s. That’s how we do! We think like adults and are not compromised by cult politicians.

Noticed how the Terrorists that stormed the Capital on January 6th, 2021 saw the event as a tourist of Patriots. But in reality, it was a bunch of damn traitorous Terrorists trying to overthrow the government. The terrorists always put a sunny view on other people’s reality. No Black and Whites didn’t get along…only in the movies and TV. As long as white’s lives was good and black suffered in silent……I guess those are the GOOD OLD DAYS to some.

I feel butterflies and a sadness when i hear music that we call "oldies"..i think about what it must have been like to be alive back then...i almost feel like I had a past life in those times..that's why I feel the way I do when I hear music from this era..like look at the way they're grooving to some REAL MUSIC
