Mane I’m doing my research I’m thinking bout taking all my savings and starting this American bully kennel for my son he love love love dogs … He is legally blind and I’m trying to start him something to do which I’m going to help to the fullest… I know it will pay off in the long run … but it’s the love of the dogs … not a hobby
There are alot of issues to deal with. From the puppies to adults there are all kinds of ways to lose money, puppies, and adults. Ive been doing this for 10 yrs the first 5 i bread pitbulls then i changed over to Bullies and hes right people dont get in this and think its going to be easy money. And believe its not. Ive lost entire litters to things i didn't know exist. Ive lost a stud to a spider bite. I had to fight heart worms and lost. Ive had puppies stolen, deformed puppies, mother's sitting on puppies, a stud who didn't want to stay in the yard jumped a fence got hit by a car, two weeks later the female i had bread him with got out her pin and died of heat stroke with the litter in side of her. There are times when I wanted to quit. I have 6 daughters and all of them help with the dogs and puppies and its alot to take in when the one you keep dies from something dumb or something that could have been prevented. This is a painful business.
I feel that. I bought a male bully 3 days ago and the next day he had a bad heat stroke. Almost died. Took him to the vet for a 500 dollar bill. So far he's acting ok now. He wasn't outside a total of ten minutes.
@@miyagishotme715 keep some lemon juice nearby if it ever happens again (I pray it doesn't) put some in some cool water and on the bottom of their feet. After a little bit it will subside. I just learned that. Cause my mentor almost lost one of his.
I just did a breeding and the dame had a miscarriage. This business is not for making millions hell pray you break even. $2000 on three new dogs. I won't see money back until maybe next year and hell with vet visits, food, the things they tear up (e.i. fences, kennels, crates, bowls, random things around the house) treats, papers, shows, adds, merch, and time on the road breaking even is a long shot.
Thank u for even sharing cause the people I got my dog from want even pick up the phone to answer a question unless u trying to buy A dog I learned that I should of did more research on them
He spitting facts 💯do it for the love not the money cause it cost alot of money to feed and care for the dogs so profit is at a minimum i got 9 bullys they eat about 100lbs of food a week plus snacks i got mine set up inside cause the mosquitoes in Florida are terrible and cause the heat so they house trained to handle there business outside pee and shit 😊make sure you have space for your dogs to exercise💪keep up the good work bro
Eli Six concepts no you never do it just for the money but at the end of the day you gotta pay rent n all of tht extra stuff like he said there 3 types of ppl tht breed
Thank you for this honest and truthful video. Im a in home breeder and spent a tone of money and time. I have been scammed I have learned a whole lot watching videos and reading books. Thanks for sharing!
My american bull just had a litter of 12. What a learning curve. It was our first time breeding so we used the vet to help deliver the puppies and monitor our dog during the birth. My partner does day shift and I stay up and do the night shift. I agree fully in what you have said. Research, research and research again, and still after all that you wont be prepared. Thanks for your video in was really informative.
Great video....info on an intact female: she has a higher percentage chance of getting pyometra, a deadly infection in the uterus that can take hold very quickly, if gone unnoticed, and occasionally the symptoms are very subtle, until it is too late. For a breeder, this is always a concern with their girls.
@@fulltiltbullies3844hey there I'm thinking about breeding a standard bully to a Xl pitbull what you think he's really not a standard im trying to create a old school bully
Your a BRAVE man Matt i dont let anybody to my house. Only videos an pictures. Unless you catch me at a dog show. Been breading since 2016 an i put in mad work an 2020 will be the year i actually make a profit. All these prior years i been putting all the money from this buisness back into my kennel. Used Louis v an lost 8 grand with frozen semen, shipping, surgical insimination, stud fee an pg tests. All for the semen to come dead.
I've been fortunate brother, met mostly all good people over the years. I hate to hear about that 8k$ L. The best of luck to you with your program and the future.
Thanks for the info I’m not in a rush but when I’m ready I’m get in touch with you and Doug y’all not to far from me and I got a girl already and I like to deal with good people that can help me along the way even if it’s only information so we can make the bred better then what it is
I'm only 17 I've been interested to start a kennel, I go to Mexico every year since i visit family the dogs over there are way cheaper than here In the states. I could purchase a bloodline Bully for 200$ In Mexico its 4789 pesos. I work part-time 39 hrs I also attend school I'm planning to buy 2 female Bullies In Mexico, a friend of mine brought a Bully for 5 gran he's letting me use his stud for free any suggestions?
Amen, I’ve have just started in this breeding business. I started with 2 puppies and a full grown female. I have spent top dollar on each dog, igloos, roofs and top dollar kennels. I hope to god everything goes well with me, because I’ve had a lot of bad luck for the same reason your saying “rushing”. I bought a pregnant bully for $6000 and I ended up paying a $3000 c section the mother nor the puppies made it.
Bought a 4 months female Merle with one spot on her eye n back so technically is a birthmark but she my baby I just also put a deposit on a lilac male that’s gonna be ready ima. Few weeks been doing my research I love dogs since a kid having puppies and being able. To make a lil money is a plus I work at Tesla so it’s gonna be a fun experience to finally try my dream out it’s all bout the dogs never the money !
Great video and I want to thank you for the knowledge that you said in the video because I also wanna become a dog-breeder always and after hearing all of the ups and down of being one I now now what I should n shouldn’t do in becoming one so for-real thanks for opening my eyes more to what I have to do in the near future with my dogs
Great Video. I have a question. If you are using a stud from a different kennel to breed with, what happened when they don't take? Do you get your $ back?
You absolutely correct about being careful about buying a bully. I didn't do enough research on the breed and ended up purchasing a beebul instead of a full blooded bully.. He looks like a bully but turns out he is a mix of Begul with Bulldog.
Thanks for the great content really insightful. About a year ago I got my first Bully and enjoy the breed so much that I'm looking into starting a kennel. So these are very helpful tips thank you.
What a great informative video. I been thinking about getting into the business myself, but want to do as much research as possible before I even take the step to do so.
. Love your set up and honesty about breeding. Likehow youre more about the breed than the 💸. How do you deal with the cold? You have an inddoor set up as well or dogs do good as is?
INVESTING IN THE BULLIES I OWN WAS THE BEST THING I HAVE DONE , NEVER RAN INTO MAJOR ISSUES YET & THEIR LITTERS SELL OUT QUICK EVEN UP TO ONE DAY , IT PROBABLY DEPENDS ON THE LOCATION YOU SELL THEM AT BECAUSE BULLIES ARE ALWAYS IN HIGH DEMAND HERE IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA , I ALWAYS TREAT ALL MY BULLIES WELL WHETHER I KEEP OR SELL THEM , THE BULLY BUSINESS IS LIKE GAMBLING , KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK THOUGH !
Everyone is entitled to a opinion. Even if it's obviously, and completely wrong, the multiple and multiple PET homes they go to every day is probably the first example of how wrong you are. But thanks for watching !!!
Why aren't they in your house with the family? That just seems like a lonely life they have. This looks like a puppy mill. So sad. There is a good example of a great breeder, NC DOODLES. She breeds Goldendoodles and operates her business in her home, the way you would want your pets to be cared for.
I’m going to start a big dog breeding ! Which is ganna consist of ::::: Rotts, Pitts, German shepherds (all types), Great Danes, mastiffs (again all types), Bernese mountain dog, great pyrese, wolf dogs, right now I’m breeding reptile which I’ll keep doing as well!
