I can just envision this big, clunky ass vhs videocamera (the ones you had to hold up to your shoulder whenever you film something) posted up on a tripod at the back of this venue
@@GeoffGorman08nah at this point they were small enough to be held with one hand on a strap. Regardless still chunky as can be because it still required tapes but yeah
@@pentexsucks43 I'm guessing he meant in terms of math rock / emo before it became popular but to me they're just indie / rock, they're very good don't get me wrong but not ahead of their time particularly, maybe a little but not too much...
@@bendover9663 yeah I hear you. But most people will trace emo back almost ten years. I think this song is fucking perfect and timeless, but definitely not "ahead of its time". It's just an amazing song.
@@fermi7776the live mix is solid from what we can tell. the mic quality takes a lot of fidelity off of what happened, but it does seem that everything seems extremely faithful to the record version, even the vocals
It’s crazy that I’m watching this right now in 2022 on RU-vid and the date in the bottom says APR 3 1999…. I was born only a few weeks after this was filmed.
This song is so special to me. The feeling it evokes is so consistent and unique, I literally don't feel that certain way when I listen to any other song. It's a weird warmth mixed with melancholy, where it makes me sad and nostalgic, but the chords are so catchy and hypnotic almost. I'm not trying to sound cheesy either, those are just the best adjectives I can think of for it. Craziest part -- I first found this song on a random ass meme of a baby chicken "cracking it's back", it had the opening riff behind it and killed me. 10/10 song, will show my kids.
It's 2024, I'm 28, and I'm discovering this song just now. It's such a pretty song, insanely good, nostalgic, beautiful.. EDIT: Also the drum pattern is way different, right ? The one they play now is way better !
this what i used to watch on early youtube days before the better quality stuff started being uploaded, same with Mineral's performances, and its still the versions i listen to now as an adult
Columbine was 17 days away. It hadn't happened yet. On this day Dillan and Eric were planning and saying their goodbyes to their friends and family. No one had any idea it was coming.
Insane that I'm replying to this on an american football video, but yeah. pretty sure theres a video of Dylan shopping for Eric's birthday around a week later from this video, too.
