Moonglow.. Fender made a run of Tele's and Strats. Light Ebony Fretboard. THe pups were Shaw's... took me a year to get Fender to tell me, Some of the tops looked like wall paper in person. I regret not get the Tele. best Tele I ever heard.

This song is definitely a lot of fun to play regardless of how many guitarists you have and I’ve always loved those ending licks during Campbell’s solo at the end, great video as usual and that Tele looks absolutely gorgeous as well

What a coincidence! My old punk band used to cover this song, and as the only guitar player I'd play the intro/main riff the same way you did, including that big A chord in the verses. I always assumed on the original there was a 6 string and a 12 string, and the 12 string played the main riff by doing open D and then the octave on the G string, 7th fret.
Thanks Mike. I never learned that one. Mike Campbell always amazes me, because everything he does is pretty simple. Stuff any decent guitarist can easily do, yet he puts it together in a way that it always seems to be more than the sum of it's parts. I think he's really underappreciated as a guitarist. I agree that Mr. Campbell always plays to the song and it always sounds perfect. At 57, I’m just moving into electric guitar after decades strumming an acoustic, so I’m sure Mike’s parts won’t exactly be easy for me, but, as I’ve loved his playing since the ‘70s-believing your thoughts on the relative simplicity-I think I’m a gonna watch and learn from Hearbreakers tutorials for building my amped-up foundation. There's a cool live version from the Old Grey Whistle test I use in my cover band. The solo has a little bit extra after the chicken pickin' lick and has a tidy turnaround/ending vs the fade out on the record.
Bro, I’ve got the same pale moon tele but I mod.ed it some. I love it so much. You should see it! I put a Babicz bridge on it cause I hate tele bridges, filed the frets cause they were crazy sharp, put a 4way selector and black knobs. It looks n sounds awesome n so much fun to play
That “Sweet Home Alabama” lick reminds me more of part of the main d lick throughout Midnight Rider, but thenI have been working on that song for months for my band 😂
hey ASTHMAboy (from the heart), Have u ever tried or even heard of Propolis (for lung therapy)...best option would probably be a beekeeper's hut with a hose and breathing mask connected to the hives below (although I doubt you have any healthy or living bees up there in 3M-infested Minnesota). Propolis for COPD, also a thing...U can buy Propolis inhalation drops, they might be a little healthier than those cortisone shots from your inhaler. But maybe, having your studio next to a radio tower makes everything obselete anyway, lol.Great channel, long- time viewer.

Don't forget the thumb-over to mute the strings you're not playing in those big chords, so you can use big, loose, happy strum motion and look at the audience and other musicians instead of the guitar!

I'm curious what you think they are doing wrong? It's a pretty simple song, though the rapid changing chords in the opening riff can take a lot out of your hands, until you get used to it.
STOP STOP STOP! We need to hear about that Tele! Love me some Petty, even walked down Ventura blvd with hundreds of other the day we celebrated his life and mourned his death, but I think most of us in the comment agree, TELL us about the Guitar!.
Dude I JUST commented on how Mike Campbell needs to be on this channel on you Joe Walsh vid….IMO Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are the GREATEST rock n roll band of all time
