I expected to not like her but I actually LOVE her and almost all her collection! I’m really happy to see a positive video because there are too many negative comments from adult collectors. I think the rainbow is really cute and looks exactly like what actual children wear. I love that her skort/jacket outfit and sleeping bag are similar to the short-lived Trolls collection, since I never got that. The only thing I didn’t really like was the cupcake outfit with recycled shoes and I am not sure why. Maybe those pieces would look better mixed with other tops and skirts. This is the best meet outfit since Blair IMO.😊
As I answered someone else, haters gonna hate… People need to calm down. She is a gorgeous unique doll, I haven’t purchased an entire GOTY collection since Corinne, and I am purchasing Summer’s on Saturday because I want triple point, otherwise I would have purchased everything today. So many things to like about her, so many kids like and wear rainbow - and we haven’t had a GOTY with rainbow color scheme.
I'm so glad to hear some Summer positivity! I love her and the majority of her collection....and I'm an adult in my 30s. I've seen so many comments saying that she's generic and I don't agree at all. I think she's very unique and well done. I was hoping for a poc doll, but that doesn't make me like Summer any less. (Still hoping next year will be a dark skinned doll, though!)
Generic? Like what other doll does she look like? Rainbow isn’t for everyone, just say you don’t like it instead of calling it generic. LoveShackFancy and Stoney Clover Lane must be super generic too then.
@@KawaiiCat2 animals are huge in suburbs, every single family with children I personally know has had pets at some point. I know several families who actively foster animals all the time, they all have children, Corinne wasn’t volunteering at an animal shelter or fostering a pet, so this is kinda new. Grace was like 10 years ago, and most kids like baking, why not bring it back with a twist (baking animal treats)?

Kid’s will like her so hopefully the collection sell’s well… I don’t have a problem with the bright colors I think it’s lovely, but there’s not much that appeal’s to me as an adult collector . In my opinion they trimmed the collection down this year by adding Truly Me items which is smart , because they can move some merchandise “get it sold”, so it’s a win win.

I did purchase her on line this morning (fingers crossed I get a good doll) plus her accessories. I’m planning on purchasing the rest of her collection as well! I absolutely love her! I mean Lila is my girl, (Lila got me back into AG collecting) but Summer is super cool too! I absolutely love the fact that she likes animals so much and her fashions are amazing! I'm twenty and I absolutely love her clothes! At the end of the day, AG can't please everyone. And we've got to remember that the dolls are like 8-13, most girls that age do not dress the way we teen/adult collectors do (Which is probably a good thing). But I absolutely love her, and I can't wait to see more videos about her from you!
I think for the age demographic it’s a great choice for color. I think kids would like it. I like the “accessibility” of dog treat making, and it might inspire future entrepreneurs. I think her story is much more “realistic”/approachable for the average kid. EVEN THOUGH I KNOW IT’S NOT COCONUT… I kind of in my mind will say it’s a reference, so I will also give anything with coconut a few points.
This doll just keeps growing on me. I love the Nanea mold, her glasses, her cat and even like the box. I never get to buy my dolls in person so the window does not affect me and think the box is still high end doll looking type box. I was very upset when they gave Tenney a very cheap looking box! I have young grandkids and this color scheme is right on point for that age group. Bonus for me I love pink!
I think she is so so cute, and I love her collection as well. I'm a big fan of rainbows so I really like her color scheme. I'm in my late 50's BTW. I showed her to two of my friends who are in their mid-20's and they both thought she was really cute. I'll have to wait until October to buy her though. I'm a bit nervous since I will have to order her online and won't get to select her personally. Fingers crossed she looks good.
She is beautiful and if someone has an issue with her meet, she will look great in neutrals too. But just like you I love her meet! Fingers crossed you get a good one. Mine isn’t perfect, but people IRL aren’t perfect either!
I like her colors & accessories, she does remind me of TM 118. I may prefer the coloring on 118 more. It would be interesting to see her in person though. Love her pet & baking theme, clothes definitely geared toward very young girls, who will love it. I think for now after talking to my daughter she still wants Lila or Cinderella more & I totally agree with her, lol. One doll at a time people, ha ha! Happy shopping everyone! I absolutely love this doll! Did you see the two promos on RU-vid from AG official channel? One is with GOTY Grace and the other is a music doll video with Summer. They made me think of myself when I was about her age and the dreams I had, I love the colors it is definitely elementary school children colors of today, granddaughter approved. As a mom to now grownup adults and parents themselves, I really approve of them incorporating their TM furniture and items to use with Summer. It is cost-effective for both AG and the parents and grandparents and children who want to buy the collection. Add to that it sparks creativity. In one way I don't like no window but the alternative is to use eco-friendly plastic and that does not hold up to storage and shipping. A cutout without it, as some doll companies have done overseas will leave the chance of a dusty or damaged doll. Some European doll companies have already switched to no plastic no window boxes. (Not that they have a choice due to laws in certain countries coming into effect. I have to think how else they can meld both options without plastic.

I wish they had just left a hole in the window for the box if they wanted to reduce plastic instead of making it all solid. I understand saving plastic but all the extra handling seems like it would damage boxes and mean more waste.
I'm so glad her box is a test because I absolutely hate not being able to look for the specific doll I want! I am NOT a fan that they took away the iconic plastic window! There are many other ways to save money & be environmentally friendly imo!

I love her PJs. Her collection is so cute and I think Summer is adorable. I love the Nanea face mold for this doll. I am not the biggest fan of the pink in her hair. I don't hate it and I don't think it will stop her from selling. I know that is popular in toy marketing. I remember with Corrine there was feedback from collectors that they wished it had been optional. Paying so much for a doll I like to put them in a wide range of outfits and the added hair color could be limiting. I wonder what your thoughts are, if you think that they will make a Truly Me version of Summer without the highlights if she sells well because I think they did so with Corrine? Have had so much fun watching your channel for leaks about this release past months.
First let me say I’m planning on purchasing the entire collection. However, I’m slightly underwhelmed. 🤷🏼♀️ For me, it doesn’t feel like a complete collection. The cart is great, but I’m surprised it’s the “big ticket” item in this release. I was anticipating something larger. - I didn’t buy today because I’m holding out for 2x or 3x bonus points (fingers crossed!)
The cat is soft I think, not sure about the dog. I only bought Summer and her meet accessories today, I am getting the rest on Saturday because I get triple points .
The colours of the meet dress are a bit too much for me (maybe the yellow?), but I don't mind if kids like it. I don't buy that many AG dolls, and I don't even want every doll to be exactly my taste. I am happy if a company makes dolls that sell well overall because it means they will stay in business and likely make something I like too. Since I am slowing my AG purchases after getting a lot in the past two years, I won't be getting anything now, but I could see buying Summer if/when she goes on sale. I don't have a Nanea mold, and I like Summer's pastel hair highlights and her glasses.

I personally am not interested in Summer and her collection but I am glad that AG went all in on this theme and color scheme instead of giving a halfway attempt. I hope they don’t use the windowless boxes for other dolls

So I looked this up. It turns out it is a family name. The Mckinny family name was found in the USA, the UK, Canada, and Scotland between 1840 and 1920. The most Mckinny families were found in USA in 1880.
They could reduce plastic waste by getting rid of neck ties. I dislike this doll, and I dislike that customers have to handle new dolls by opening the lids in order to choose the one they want. I want an unopened doll, if I got one at all.
