Reverse engineering and customizing "The Flip Side", a 1:5 scale pinball machine created by American Girl (the doll company). This is the 7th video in a series where I disassemble and reverse engineer this cool little machine. In this video we isolate and diagram the circuitry for all of the playfield and backbox components. We examine each of the three types of light circuits, the score digits, the three types of switch circuits, and the motor circuit, and write some simple Arduino code to control each of them using a Teensy microcontroller. The lights, score digits, start button, contact switches (pop bumpers, stand-ups, slings), optical switches (trough, shooter lane, scoop), and pop bumper motor are all functional.
