INDIA was a subcontinent before, which was named by the greeks. It was still a subcontinent before named BHARAT BHUMI/HINDUSTAN. When brits divided INDIAN SUBCONTINENT into east-west Pakistan, Hindustan(Modern day India), few parts of Nepal, and a few parts of Bhutan.. Then in 2024, INDIA the name was officially accepted by the constitution. Otherwise INDIA is not any baby country. Some organisations still accept it as a subcontinent.

It still doesn't change the fact that the lord buddha was born in Lumbini, Nepal. There have been a lot of false articles across the internet and also a lot of Indians don't want to accept this fact but it's the truth.

@@facts2actual And I live in the same place where Buddhism started. My religion is Hinduism but in our home worship is done in both religions. And Buddha was not the one person there were 28 of them, Siddharth Gautam was only from Nepal, the rest 27 were Indians. If you don't know the history then keep quiet.

@@Abhinav-m4o there were Marathas in the central western parts, rajputs in the north west, Jats in the west, sultanate of hyderabad in the south, many more and mainly the Mughals in central India. From the early eighteenth and nineteenth century when east India company ( a proxy force of the British empire) started pouring in, many were subjugated and the last to rise and challenge were the Jats / Sikhs from the west and Gurkhas with their own ambition under prithivi Narayan Shah from the north with the later signing the treaty of sughauli with the British and ceding a chunk of its territory to the British empire extending from the borders of Sikkim, to garwal hills, nainital, to himanchal Pradesh to the west. Later some of the territories were returned after the gorkhas helped the British quell the Sepoy mutiny in 1857. Btw there weren’t any map of the Indian subcontinent before the Europeans started coming in.
