One of my friends recently went to Turkey and while he was wandering around the streets of Ankara one woman came up to him and asked him if he was from Pakistan?He replied yes and she started to sing National Pakistani songs. Many Pakistani meals were adapted by Mughal and Persian Achaemenid history. The National Anthem of Pakistan is in Persian, and so is its name, pak (pure) - stan (place). Before Urdu was the official language of Pakistan, Persian was the official language of Pakistan and North India during the Mughal Empire.
We Pakistanis consider ourselves more towards Middle East (Persians and Arabs) but we're definitely highly influenced by the Persian Culture as you can see our Language has a lot of Borrowed loanwords from Persian Language and Arabic too.

Sorry but it got it wrong about saraiki. That's a language, not a people. That's my language. I'm a Baloch. Baloch, Sindhi and Pashtun speak saraiki in central Pakistan. The jhumar dance people were Baloch dressed in Baloch attire. Other than that aggravating mischaracterization of my people, the rest seems factually correct.

@Sharnie Gujjar Shukriya also came from Hindustani language , Shubh + kriya. Arabic has also Shuqran . And therefore Shukriya Hindustani was the spoken language of North Indian plains. Mughals and Turks added Persian and Arabic words in Hindustani language which later became Urdu. Hindi is an attempt to scrap out Persian words from Hindustani and replace it with more Prakrit words. That is why spoken Urdu/ Hindi is undersood by people but literary Urdu/Hindia have more differences. Even in Pakistan people use words like Satyanash / Kartadharta etc.
Probably because most of 'Bollywood' is actually speaking Urdu, particularly the songs and script-writers. Personally, I think it proved to be a good strategy on part of Bollywood (had they only relied on Hindi, their movies would never have left the borders of their homeland 'India')
