D-jay Shawn Cordelias softer yes, but she isn’t “too weak”, I don’t doubt her magical ability at all when she needs to use it. She was weaker in apocalypse because in that timeline Mallory was rising as the next supreme and Cordelias powers were waning. In the new timeline, depending on how long it takes for Mallory to rise this time Cordelia could still grow to become a stupidly powerful witch. I’m guessing Mallory sped up the process of becoming the supreme because she knew she’d need the power to perform the time travel spell (maybe her wanting/needing to become supreme increased the rate at which it happened even though her memories were replaced, she still subconsciously knew). Now that Mallory has killed Michael, Cordelia could potentially carry on being supreme for a longer time.

Its also worth a mention that Marie would help Cordelia considering Marie reacted negatively every time Fiona abused Cordelia in front of her despite not saying anything verbally. This is most notable when Fiona slaps that shit outta Delia calling her Willfully blind after Hank's attack on Marie LaVeau's hair salon.

This scene made me jump for joy. “Coven” was the first season I watched & the reason I watched it is because of Angela Bassett. That woman is incredible & her playing Marie Laveau was perfect casting. Too bad they don’t give her a whole season of her own. They always have her playing a side character. Other females claim to be Queen but Angela Bassett owns that shit without even having to say it 👑

I always think of ahs as a somewhat poorly written show but incredibly acted Sara Paulson, Angela Basset, Kathy Bates, Frances Conroy and Jessica Lange are just explosions of talent every time they are on the screen and really show that actors can give showmaking performances

People seem to forget that technically speaking Marie Laveau started out as just the normal voodoo witch. Displaced from her homeland as well. She was almost as powerful as a waning supreme and even had immortality over her. It just makes you wonder what a voodoo supreme/queen or high voodoo priestess would be like if Marie is this powerful

I would've loved her as Storm. But the material back then was lacking back then when it came to her character. Storm basically got her ass kicked most of the time and didn't show her full powers. And had very little dialogue.
