Divorce is a far lesser option than murder. The Law works, though not always perfect. Nothing justifies his heinous actions outside of his own distorted, cowardly, selfish, corrupt mind
I became obsessed with the story when I saw the lie detector test part of the documentary. A very sad but interesting case and as you say a cautionary tale 😢 Thanks for reviewing thia documentary
I don’t remember this story on the news. Sad for the children, they were innocent. I noticed Joseph did NOT interrupt Nick as much. Documentary got Joseph shook! LOL. Kidding, love you guys. ❤️
reminds me of the casey anthony case. both parents just wanted a “free life” away from their families. such a scam that casey isn’t in prison, but she has that notoriety now. i’m glad chris will never see another day as a free man.
The lady running the polygraph was another detective You can watch a bunch of the interrogation footage online. I wonder if the polygraph was a bluff - and they were just using it to get him to talk?
i screamed “me too!!” when you said it made you think of gone girl 😂 also i know this has nothing to do with the doc but you guys are an adorable couple and i love you guys
Idk what I was expecting from the documentary, but I had seem all of those clips on RU-vid before. I have even heard the "mistress" many conversations with the police. Also, many RU-vid videos talking about their bankruptcy and finances at the time of the murders. Idk, I have seem far more details on youtube than the documentary.
This whole situation was like the perfect Lifetime movie. I, for one, think Chris Watts is an evil psychopath. Shanan did not serve what happened. And, the little girls were so innocent. And, they were so young. How this man could kill his entire family for some woman he was sleeping with. This is so evil and crazy!!!!! It is more evil than Scott Peterson. I will NEVER understand how someone could kill a pregnant woman and their small children. It’s just so evil. Shanan was overbearing and annoying. However, murder is NEVER the answer 😢
I think the polygraph (which aren't reliable anyway) was used more as a tactic to put pressure on him and get him to break. I don't think it was something they were planning to use on it's own to charge him.
The idea of marriage has always perplexed me. What does signing a paper telling the government that you're financially tied to another person have to do with love and commitment? Why is a ceremony alone not a real marriage or taken seriously unless you enter into a binding contract that has absolutely nothing to do with our relationships?? It's weird.
Guys I think this kinda of outside perspective in this is great, but even though you’re audience is pretty practical and diplomatic (mature)- I would put a disclaimer. This is so sad bc it genuinely happened especially for the kids. But I also do agree with many of these thoughts yet it’s hard to see his point of view. Y’all are able to accomplish that so it’s super interesting to hear!
Watched it last night so sad like damn just horrible. People need to learn to let go when someone doesn't want them and people need to be honest about being unhappy and leave even if the person doesn't want you too. Not trying to victim blame but when I watch alot of these types of murders it seems to be because one person wants to leave and the other is fighting for the relationship
@@michellegomes2030 that's basically what I was saying when I said let go, people like to try to get a person to work it out I dont truly believe he ever told her the truth about not wanting to be with her , but as humans we know when our spouse is acting different I think she left for those six weeks hoping he start acting the same upon her return.
phatjazzyj I see your point. But she was fighting for her family. He should’ve been man enough to make the decision to leave and pay the child support but he wanted to get rid of everything and erase the past. I don’t see Shannan’s faut in this.
I don't understand how anyone can see marriage as anything but "stuck"! I'm sure some people like that aspect of it but I value my space and freedom far too much. Either way, people really do need to think long and hard about who they are actually tangling up their lives with. You just never know!
I watch and read a lot of true crime and I’m always especially interested in crimes like these where it’s supposedly a “loving” husband/wife/SO doing the plots, killing, and disposal. I remember when I didn’t know anything about the case yet but saw him on TV in that interview where he says crap like “I just want them to come home! I miss them so much!” I was like: HE GUILTY! People may call me cynical but I think I have a pretty good BS detector. And p.s. the mistress definitely should’ve caught some charges too. She either knew and didn’t do anything, obstructed justice, or helped him cover something up (killing 3 ppl and getting rid of bodies is a lot of work!)
I don’t believe she was involved. 3 bodies are a lot of work, but 2 of them were tiny. It was only a few days after they got a confession, she was oblivious
I agree how he was taken to the edge with his handsome ass but killing obviously has no justification so he’s serving his sentence now as he should. I feel so bad for his young daughters 😰
She had a better job and he made one little one watch him murder the other..and.come on....people need to go to class to be married and for god's sake WAIT to have kids - not have them first. You can't deny them with DNA.
@@jensmitchell6999 Apparently there’s proof that she wasn’t that innocent. The police didn’t keep investigating her because Chris confessed. Look her up online and here on RU-vid. She deleted text messages and did look up Shannan online. So she knew she was pregnant and still with Chris.
People keep comparing this to Gone girl. I don't get it Wasn't Gone girl about a woman who faked her own death? And Chris was not unhappy he was just psycho. He probably would have killed his girlfriend as well he had no sense of right,or wrong.
Y'all know you need some female energy to jooj up that background!!! You May not need a girl in the bedroom but you certainly need one in the studio!!! The visual parallels of the dvd cases behind you are actually displaying a graphic element from early videography noted as an advanced psychological artistic design technique, similar to shots in citizen kane, but your background kinda poots out after that. Plants, architecturally influenced lamp/ lighting, statue/ statuette, a therapeutic element (water feature, soothing movement feature, etc.) Will go a long way here... beware not to clutter...and for the love of hot chocolate and marshmallows please don't display your RU-vid subs/views stats as background decor. Its utterly tacky ...cheers!! Also your interrupting each other is actually warm and beautiful, you complete each other's gaps and don't make your audience suffer through cold, awkward silences...no need to apologize and anyone criticizing your interrupting each other is just bored.
Sha-nnan; Sha-nnon.. what's with the Sha- nan Lol Shannan and Shannon are literally pronounced the same...🤔 I would think, much like Alex and Aleks, John and Jon, Lou and Lu, Kris and Chris... etc.. It all depends where your from I guess Lol Good review 👍🏼
Don't tell anybody 🤫, but unborn children are being killed everyday in the U.S. And the statistical dat at the end of this movie tells us that this kind of crimes is almost a normal thing in America.
