Who did absolutely nothing. They never mentioned who his associates are or anything about this human trafficking ring he was apart of. Everything is very strange and a lot of things the police could have done to catch this guy were common sense. Track the emails, track the phone numbers, so many cases surrounding the area were similar to the kidnapping. It’s absolutely wild. The law enforcement did their best not to actually solve the case but to blame them. The lie detector is not a solid instrument but the agent lied to Aaron. What they did to Dennis is even more despicable. She had an hospital exam that corroborated her story. What’s more shocking is that they had all these cases around with common MO and never even looked at it. Women and crime committed on us are just not taken seriously. They told one of the victims: you sure it was not a dream. That’s just horrible. It took a woman to solve the crime. Her determination. It’s great there are proper police officers. This case reminds me of “Unbelievable” series based on true events. Women actually solved the case there as well.
@MalissiaCreates
@MalissiaCreates 4 месяца назад
Exactly. Misty is an awesome cop to follow through on evidence and actually did real police work instead of trying to sweep it under the rug for the boys club. So many weird things like the FBI agent, being the ex girlfriends ex-boyfriend and so many similar cases in the same area, I mean it seems like it was a no-brainer with the smallest amount of police work to solve the crime could have saved her from being SA’d. He had help and they were never found so that makes one suspicious of that help, if he was ex military and a lot of cops are, that might be why they needed this to go away. I’m so glad Netflix, put this out for the world to see.

It was such a great documentary and at first, I could understand why the police believed the story was too far-fetched, but why couldn’t they investigate the BF, and at the same time investigate the crime by leaving his phone on to see if he was telling the truth? What a crazy situation for these people I’m so glad the truth came out in the end for them. And I’m sorry you had to experience something similar at the hands of incompetent and nasty police. Police are often horrible to anyone who isn't wearing a badge & gun... but more especially if they suspect you committed a crime... to them, you're already guilty, and its their job to prove it... not to find out if you're guilty, because to them you're guilty... it's all about getting the conviction. Sadly, this approach has ruined countless lives, and put many people in prison who were innocent. And before some internet troll or MAGA cultists say anything, let me clarify I'm a former officer, as was my mother, uncle, bro-in-law, and like 50 friends. So unlike many, I have first-hand experience and have seen how officers go after people, before all the evidence is even discovered. The worst part is, even after many are found innocent, the officers will double-down, instead of admitting they made a mistake.

My crazy story... While dating my ex, her ex walked through an unlocked side entrance and woke us up in the middle of night at the foot of my bed with a flashlight blinding us. He started telling her to go with him, and there was a solid minute or two I couldn't move out of shock fright until I realized what was happening and anger boiled over, while still blinded I risked him having a weapon, got up and ran him out of the place. Initially if he had tied us up I know I would have gone along with it... you don't understand what it's like until you've been woken up from a deep sleep in your own bed by a stranger, you're very vulnerable. Lo and behold he told the cops he was a friend spending the night on the couch and we had an argument, but OUR story sounded so crazy they believed him and he walked.

Yeah that's the thing, in the beginning you're seriously questioning her story partly since she seems so well put together but mostly because the story sounds awfully convenient, everything from the kidnappers dropping her off at her parent's house to the kidnappers writing letters to the media saying she's not lying. I can definitely understand the police guessing it might be a hoax, especially since there ARE people who do this for attention. All that being said though - that's why it is part of the police's JOB to be open-minded and not have pre-conceived notions. Even if I have some understanding for them privately side-eyeing the case in the beginning this should never have impacted their professional work - and they should have followed these leads and investigated this case to the best of their ability. They didn't even do the bare minimum and there's no excuses for that!

This documentary was so good. It’s rare when I get in my feels. But this one got me. Awesome, awesome! Watch. And I highly recommend it.

They should do an episode on the guy who was accused of murdering his girlfriend, he tells them they were attacked....He is in custody and interrogated for 6 hours with bullets in his head before they finally realize the cuts on his face are bullet entrance wounds and called paramedics. The perps were caught but he died a few years later from his injuries.

Was it Victor Sibson from Anchorage Alaska? I just googled the story and came across him, but I think he’s still alive and in prison. He was attempting suicide when he shot himself in the head and it went through and hit and killed her.

@@jeovannibarrera8633 that’s so sad! Stories like these anger me. There is no trust in those who are supposed to serve and protect us.
