Don’t be ridiculous. They weren’t making it look like it was a good thing that he put her on WebCam in the first video they were simply showing that that’s something that happens. Stop getting butt hurt about ridiculous stuff. It’s a movie it’s meant to be entertaining if you didn’t like a scene, don’t cry about it…. and he wasn’t recording her like in a way that he would be able to play the video again. His goal was to simply share live what was going on in his bedroom with his friends and by mistake he shared it with the whole school, that was what they were implying in the movie, not that he was recording her against her well with the intention of being able to share this video again, and again no, he simply meant to share it with his best friends, and by accident, shared it online with everybody and at the end of the day, the consequence of his action was she left, and he lost his Dreamgirl.. do you think that scene was terrible you would hate movies like Porkys or revenge of the nerds where the nerds go into the girls sorority house and literally steal all the girls panties out of their drawers while they’re in their rooms with their shirts off, that would really make you lose your mind..
The way they walk Jim into realizing his feelings for Michelle with that "one time at band camp" is incredible script writing! Jason Biggs really sells the realization too.
If you noticed, when Michelle leaves after "yelling" at Jim, her hair is different in the close up shot in her car. That was a pick up shot and Alyson Hannigan was back filming Buffy the Vampire Slayer, so she has Willow hair.
SHAN!! Thanks for getting around to this series. To me, this is one of those sequels that surpasses the original, but out of the series, American Wedding came out at the perfect time in my teen years to cement it as my favorite. Love these reactions!!
American Wedding could've been and should've been the perfect ending to this series. It's kinda sad that they kept cash-grabbing the IP with sub-par "sequels" like the naked mile
@@sidekickz2180 There was only one genuine sequel, American Reunion. Anything labelled American Pie Presents are direct to video garbage. The sad thing is that Eugene Levy starred in four out of five. 😒
If you were the right age, you were experiencing this new-found freedom yourself when this came out, and it captures that dynamic of friendship and adventure so well. Thanks for the reaction Shan
*I would LOVE for you to react to **_Eurotrip_** (2004) which is right up the same alley as the **_American Pie_** movies; you should enjoy it quite a lot!*
remember when i saw this in the theater, during the scene in the lighthouse when jim leaves nadia for michelle, a guy in the audience shouted "dont do it jim"
Great reactions! No joke, I actually think the third one, American Wedding, is the funniest. I hope you check that one out next! It really brings all of the characters full circle perfectly.
In my opinion, this one got the absolute best soundtrack of all the teen/coming of age movies. SO MANY songs that were popular not only back then, but still are classic of the genre for my generation (young GenX/elder millennials)
Hey Shan I'm commenting to tell you I absolutely love your reactions and takes on the film industry. Please keep em coming and don't ever be discouraged ❤
For raunchy comedy you MUST add "The New Guy", "Not another teen movie", "Eurotrip", and the ultimate in raunchy teen comedy and Ryan Reynolds break out film "Van Wilder"
I can tell why I know you have a good channel. 1st video that popped up when i opened RU-vid the American Pie 2 reaction came up and i said ehh i dont want to watch that but then i saw it was your video and I was then excited.
@@Metzwerg74 Stifler was the only good thing about Wedding. Half of the cast wasn’t even in it. Did you forget that? Reunion was way more entertaining and everybody was back in it. But I’m not gonna argue over opinions
If you want an all time great raunchy movie, check out "Porky's" My grandmother took my great-grandmother, age 56, and 81 at the time, to see Porky's. When my great-grandmother was asked what she thought of it, she said it was the most disgusting thing she has ever seen, but she needed to see it again because she was laughing so hard she knows she missed parts.
This is my favorite American Pie movie out of the 4 main ones. I haven’t seen any of the spin-off movies (American pie presents). I think this one is the funniest and also I love the summer house setting
As someone who has been to band camp my first thought is to say no, it is not that horny…but then I remember it was the place where I got to third base for the first time so 🤷♂️
I'm so happy you kept going with these. I'm about the same age as the main cast, and I'm from very close to where these were mostly shot, so these are pretty special to me. Hope you continue on to the next one.
No it’s not! Stop saying underrated! It’s annoying as hell, people on RU-vid need to get off their obsession with the word “underrated” and constantly using it
I remember both the American Pie movies in the early 2000s first time I saw the first American Pie spent the night at my friends house that's how I got introduced to American Pie fell in love with all the American Pie ever since the actors were great they were just awesome films
i remember when i saw this in the theater, during the scene in the lighthouse when jim leaves nadia for michelle, a guy in the audience shouted "dont do it jim"
So, John Cho, the actor who's character says "Am I gonna have a hangover? Cause I want one!" appeared as the same character in both American Pies 1&2 and American Wedding as the character Harold Lee ... This is the same Harold Lee that is in Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle and their sequels, making Harold & Kumar the same cinematic universe as the American Pie movies. Would strongly recommend you watch them!
remember when i saw this in the theater, during the scene in the lighthouse when jim leaves nadia for michelle, a guy in the audience shouted "dont do it jim"
This one didn’t quite do for CB radios what the first did for webcams, but it’s still fun! A lot more polished than the first (they even let the actors wear makeup!) and doing what all sequels are supposed to do… and I hope Shan manages to see the extended versions of each film, for all that extra raunch!
I don't remember when or under which circumstances I watched this one. But, the first one I watched on vhs, maybe 1 or 2 years after it came out. I watched it on a busride (from Sweden where I'm from) to Germany. And it was a trip with, wait for it......the marching band I played in at the time. I remember the scene where Michelle talks about the guy she had to kiss, that he played trombone. Everyone in the bus laughed and pointed jokingly at a guy in the orchestra who plays trombone. What a memory! 😂
This is my favorite American Pie film. It took what I loved from the first one and did it better in my opinion, the characters have more to do and like you said, its just fun! I like all four with the original cast!
This movie was first released about 22 years ago in theaters. I was only 24 years old at the time when this movie was first released in theaters. But the very first time that I saw this was when it came out on DVD.
I love the American Pie movies because I take them for what they are, raunchy teen, young adult comedy and they do it very well. I also love the soundtrack used in the movies. Probably my favorite is American Wedding which is the next after American Pie 2. After that is American Reunion which also great. American Wedding and American Reunion are great because you get to the adult version of the gang and how they adjust. Good stuff.
I love how you focused on Biggs in this reaction. He really is pulling some weight in this ridiculous romp. It could be from having to work next to Eugene Levy for so many scenes last film and this one. Great reaction video!
"American Pie, the wedding" is Pretty Good, then until "American Pie Reunion" they have a different ensemble, but still hold water! One in particular might be in YOUR (Shanelle's) Wheelhouse... "American Pie BAND CAMP", as well as "A.P. The book of love", "A.P. The Naked Mile" and "A.P. Beta House". Eugene Levy has roles in all of them, and we still get a "Stifler" in Each!
I can tell you from being a band geek in the mid to late 90s it was all about hooking up. Either it was in the buses in the practice rooms above the band room, or behind bleachers. We had charter buses where the seats recline and there were no parents on the buses. We took coolers on the buses with big apple juice glass bottles full of beer and Jack and Pepsi in 1 liters Pepsi bottles, also screwdrivers in sunny d coolers. Oh the whole flute thing it’s true I’ve personally seen it done and that’s how they are start out. My whole freshman class lost their v card that first year.😂
I saw all 4 American Pie films in theaters even the first two films even though they both came out before my teen years. I was a few months past 10 years old in 1999 when the first American Pie came out then I was 12 when American Pie 2 came out in August 2001. I love these films.
When the first movie came out, the only actor I knew from the cast was Thomas Ian Nicholas who played Kevin. Because he was a child actor before in the films Rookie of the Year and A Kid in King Arthur’s Court
@@nsasupporter7557 Yes I saw Loser. I knew Thomas Ian Nicholas as well but I also knew Alyson Hannigan because I watched the hit show Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Even though I'm a drummer, I never played in the school band, but my best friend did. She told me there was a lot of clothes/uniform changing that took place on the bus, so apparently the band members were not shy. She never talked about anything going on beyond that. I'm rather sure they didn't have band camp, too bad though!! I spent an entire Summer at a Mountain Resort working as a bus boy when I was 15, yeah, it was a loooooong time ago. Had a great time meeting girls who came up with their parents for a weekend, but I was a notoriously slow worker and didn't get much past making out. I had fun hustling girls playing on the pool table for kisses. Guess having a table at home and learning from my father paid off. The club had a teenage dance every Saturday night, while the adults had "adult" dancing in the dining room (this was in 1969 - the Summer of Love). Great fun, but nothing like the movie! Nobody was scoring, and if they did, they didn't admit it.
I like watching the 4 main American pie movies with these characters but the wedding which is the 3rd has alot of people missing but totally worth watching but everyone comes back in the reunion which is the last one. The wedding doesn't have Oz, nor Heather, nor Tara Reid nor Jessica or the Shermantor but the rest are in and it's funny
The setting for the American Pie movies is Michigan. Big Falls is Grand Rapids and the summer at the Lake is the Grand Haven area, I believe. There really is an internationally known band camp in Michigan called Interlochen Center for the Arts, though its not really very close. One of the writers went to University of Michigan, and in the original film the choir competition and LaCross Tournament were at Michigan State. Of course, it was not filmed in Michigan.
9:16 - Yes, that's her. Shannon Elizabeth who plays Nadia in these films was Justice, the member of C.L.I.T. that Jay fell for in Jay & Bob Strike Back.
I didn’t see Jay and Silent Bob, so it’s no wonder I’m surprised she was in it. The only other movie I know of that she was in was Scary Movie as Buffy
Song at the beginning, Everytime I Look for You by blink-182, who also had a song in the first Pie film called Mutt and that they starred as themselves as the practicing band (with the monkey, Mark, Tom and Travis) when they stopped playing and started watching the Nadia stream. Song playing at Stifler's party, Flavor of the Week by American Hi-Fi who also had a song in American Wedding called The Art of Losing.
I think it was Roger Ebert who observed that all four of the Pie movies are really love stories, from Jim's Dad, to Jim & Michelle, to... I'll let you watch the other two. Each one has callbacks to the previous, but there's normally a twist, such as the two girls using they guys this time, or the Sherminator getting lucky. That actor is, BTW, in October Sky with Jake Gyllenhaal. He handles a much more serious role quite well. All four original Pie movies (NOT the direct to video crap) are worth watching.
I was in college when this film came out! Where the hell does the time go? I remember watching this for the first time. Middle of summer, higher than a bat's ass, and laughing the entire time. Soundtrack was great, and the energy of the film is so good, but I think looking back, the energy had a brighter "shine" to it in those days where I was in college and the humor was more parallel I guess? Not sure if I'm doing a good job of explaining this or not, but that's how I see it when I look back on this film. One of my all time favorite comedies for sure!
Remember that time at band camp, when Shanelle Riccio, didn't notice Stiffler as the Sheep F*#☆er in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. I do. Another great reaction to a franchise not reacted to much, yet. I think Another mystery for you. Either Ten Little Indians with Hugh O'Brian or Murder By Death. Enjoy your content and your reactions. Keep up the excellent job.
I saw this as soon as it came out on video. I remember my dad going to blockbuster and getting it from the New Release section. I was only about 10 or 11yo at the time. My dad was single, so our house was like a bachelors pad. He didn't really care about us watching rated R movies. We already had American Pie at home. As a kid, my favorite scenes were when the trumpet fell out of his ass, and when he was dancing while playing trombone in front of the camp 🤣
The anticipation for this movie in 2001 was ridiculous, given that the original was the surprise hit of the summer of 99. Everyone my age was dying for the next chapter. I went and saw opening night in August 2001 with a group of my friends, and was not disappointed, in fact, I think American pie 2 may be my favorite of the entire series (which is 4 movies, there’s a bunch of direct to video spinoffs that need to be avoided!). It’s the rare kind of raunchy comedy that can introduce genuine character moments and things that are really heartfelt without sacrificing the comedy, and that’s a really tough juggling act that they manage to do.
