Reagan was an actor and a spokesperson for General Electric, Obama was groomed from a young age to be a politician. There exists people in this world with very high language affinity who can basically read a book and recite it back to you, but they're not that great at much else. There was one politician who was a sort of aspiring protégé to Lincoln who was a bit of an idiot, but could remember entire pages of speeches by other people word for word. Those kinds of stooges make the best politicians
