It may be RuneScape, but it’s only RuneScape because RuneScapes soundtrack includes such things as 1 second tracks for door opening sounds and the like, aka they cheated
To be fair, FFXIV does have one World Record. The Most Original Tracks Composed by the Same Person in One Game. Ironically, this song is one of the few NOT composed by Masayoshi Soken.
This is a phenomenal song like so many in the game, but there is one I feel you really need to hear. It is called To the Edge. The lyrics tell the story of the many character from the beginning up to the end of the third expansion, Shadowbringers, and if you never played and only heard the song you would not realize this, but that isn’t the most impressive part of the song. The most impressive part is that the lead composer and musical director edited and finished the final version of the song from his hospital bed while undergoing stomach cancer treatment. Knowing that it hits much harder and is more meaningful
Honestly you can pick pretty much any song at random from Final Fantasy XIV and it'll be good- the composer, Soken, just pours so much love into his work and it just really shines through. Some have a more instrumental vibe, some are very driving like this, some are entirely different, they're not afraid to just try new things. (And there's a LOT of options, the discography is massive)
Also thinking on it- Soken has a band called The Primals that do concerts of the songs- definitely worth a check-out the live versions of the songs are really fun.
Final Fantasy 14 is an online multiplayer fantasy game. I've played it for like 10 years now and it's imo the best MMO out there. My personal favorite final fantasy , sound track and game is 6 but the entire series has amazing music!!! Thank you for another awesome reaction!!
If you plan on listening to FFXIV's soundtrack more, I'm glad to inform you got a very healthy amount to listen to and they're all very good and varied. I believe it still holds the Guinness World Record for most amount of songs in a video game if I'm not mistaken.
I love FF14 music there are a lot of types of different music, and there are a lot of bangers. One of my favorites is Answers, but I also love the Ruby Weapon theme, Flow, Dragonsong, and Shadowbringers theme.
The music helps me focus on the mechanics, even after a wipe while the music still plays, with the dance of stuff you have to do for the fights it helps you focus more
The music is also in synch with mechanics, the most active happens during the intense part of music and the most passive of the battle during the low phase of music. so you end up moving at the speed at the music ... follow the rythm!
You say that's the Overdrive, us Final Fantasy Fans would call it the Limit Break! Lol the fans will understand but Limit Break is an ultimate move in the game.
