There was no real beef between Ren and Dotta. Basically Ren called Dotta out over talking shit about him, and Dotta came back saying how he actually respected Ren. Then they decided to do a one round rap battle, all in fun. King Dotta said that Ren’s diss was “dope” and even shared it on his channel, but we know he wasn’t expecting Ren to willingly give him clout. It’s obvious that Ren wasn’t really trying, as he kept apologizing and laughing. He played the game then flipped the script. That’s just the kind of uplifting person Ren is - “A rising tide lifts all ships”.

I think one reason Ren flipped the script was to shout out to the other haters that he does not want to attract and respond to such challenges. He did this one to close down a bully in his community.
One thing to note is he made time during his medical treatments to do this. His procedures take up alot of time per day so for him to actually take time for this when he really did not have to and litteraly has better things to do, just speaks to what kind of a man Ren really is.
True story, if I'm not mistaken this was actually made in the garage park of the hospital. Not knowing the context of this you can easily mistake the message, but if you go back to Dota's diss tracks about Ren and Knox for example, you'll understand why he came up with this format. Disses are just attack attack attack, while Ren's POV is ultimately the best of both worlds. He will take you down to "play the game", and in this case a gratuitous clout chasing game, but then he will "kill you with kindness" and ask over a million people to show you love. That's a human being, not just a person. He's too good for this shitty world and that's why he has an amazing community behind him, that's why he DID drop a NR 1 album independently, without enormous budgets or labels supporting him. He is that special. There will always be haters. There will only be One Ren!
Nobody knew who King Dotta was until he dissed Knox Hill. Knox returned fire then King Dotta dissed Ren. This is Ren shooting back at King Dotta, who by the way is a reactor hater. He hates on people and has approximately 833 subscribers 😂. Ren killed it by flipping the script on this one. But that’s REN, always giving back.
The part at the end talking about the media, divisiveness, black vs white, violence, etc. is not part of the rap battle. It specifically addresses the racist, divisive hate that Dotta has been spreading in the comments sections across youtube.
Yep, that's how I heard it, not talking about a "war" between him and Dotta, but the bigger unnecessary wars and tragedies out there: "If there's war in the east, then the (Wall) Streets are getting paid/If there's war in the (hood) streets, there's a mother at a grave/If I pander to my ego then I'm just another slave." i.e., if I chase my own success for my own vain and selfish reasons (instead of for the fun and love of it) then I'm just adding to the machines of injustice.
The best part about this is when Ren mentioned cake, Dotta commented on Red Top Reactions that he loved the line because he had Red Velvet cake for breakfast.
King Dotta is a rapper who wanted to get his numbers up in the area of views. He has called out several rappers including your brother SCRU face, Crypt , Duane TV, Knox Hill, Ren and others. Knox Hill (twice) and Ren responded to Dotta with Ren being the latest to respond. All are worth reacting to. I am gonna be honest, I was fully prepared to hear a brutal takedown from ren FOR ONCE and just for fun. But he did not do that and I loved it anyway. Because I love ren for who he is as an artist.
Yes I agree with you. He isn't really interested in Battle Rap and wanted to make it clear one time only "I'm not a Battle rapper". He has so much he wants to do in his art and its good to tell the world and kinda get it out the way that he has no interest in battling other artists. He is more about collaboration anyway.
I think this is a follow on from his success speech at 1 M subs. Ren is fighting the hate culture in general, as in Money Games and Crucify the culture. He is going for contribution to critical mass by ripple effect. Show other ways and see if we can all do something to balance out some if the hate. I dig that. I also think it might become really important very soon, as our online behaviour right now is teaching AI as it gains consciousness. And if it is all about killing the inconvenient, then we are goners. If we can teach mutual support and a place fir all, there might even be one fir us in the new world that we will still see in our lifetimes. I think some people are getting this a bit twisted and making assumptions about Ren's character that isn't necessarily true, or completely true. Ren was all about this. He even said that he prodded Dotta to diss him so that he could respond because it wouldn't take much and he said that this whole thing was fun. It was just out of his comfort zone as battle rap isn't his vibe, but make no mistake about it he was still willing to and wanted to do it. He also just had to be true to who he is and put his own spin on it. This wasn't a fake battle or beef, nor was it something Ren didn't want to do; Ren just kept it respectful for the art and culture, and after that Dotta gained some respect for Ren when he saw what Ren was doing. Ren is not some holier than thou person people are painting him out to be, he's just a genuine and good dude that loves making music and wants to see the world in a better place. But he's also a Brit.. talking shit is in his blood lol.
I agree that Ren isn't the 'holier than thou' that people are making him out to be but he is a good human that is trying to make a difference. Too many people put Ren on a pedestal. As an artist, I agree he deserves it but as a person, he has his faults just like we all do. That's why I love him, he's not afraid to be himself and do music the way he envisions it. He has a gift! As far as Dotta gaining respect for Ren, he gained subs and views so of course he's changed his mind about Ren.

KSO...How it ALL went down...last month michelleshow reacted to Killshot by Knox. Michelle miss interpreted lyrics suggesting Knox Dissed King Dotta. (Michelle been ridding Dotta's ass for a year like a homie :) Dotta chasses clout and disses those above him. He wrote a diss track on Knox and also called him a racist reporting knox trying to get his channel cancelled. Ren stepped up to support Knox and entered chat with Dotta. Dotta challenged Ren to a Rap battle. Knox found out Ren was stepping up for him and so decided to fight his own battle and released 2 diss tracks within 24hrs in response to Dottas Diss of both Knox and Ren. Ren then released his diss track. You are 4 diss raps behind/before.....Rens.
King Dotta is a dude that disses anyone who has a following for clout. No one knows who he is. Before this Ren diss came out he only had like 800 subs.

I love Ren send us to show him some love because he is a good person, but I'm rejected the invitation to suscribe to Dotta cause I wouldn't like him to feel he should keep chasing coult this way. I rather Dotta focused on his work and shine on his own like Ren did. There will be a place for him if he earn it :)
Dotta is kinda nice but he has one flow and cadence, the flow is good though. Pretty good wordplay too. It’s nice to see Ren getting involved in different elements to the rap culture.
Another aspect to this whole thing. Sure, Ren went into this because of the diss Dotta had for Knox, and towards himself... but also, Dotta slagged reactors, and reactors are part of what enabled Ren to be heard, and he has appreciated them very much. I think in part he was motivated to do this as well because of Dotta slagging reactors.

I must apologise to you because I saw your reaction to Ren's song featuring Victus yesterday and got a bit mad of you and wrote some shit. I'm sorry. You seem to be a good guy. Ren is a versatil guy and write music for everyone. But I have subscribed to you because I watched some of your other reactions and well, we are different when it comes to music and dance music. I love everything Ren makes so I became disappointed when you said it was a bad song. I'm in the middle of 50 years old and the beat to his last song reminded me of the 80th and the 90th. And I was thrilled by the beat and the lyrics. The ying yang don on the Don ying yang is referring to a big Chinese dictator in China etc.. I liked it alot because I used to be a dancer in my younger days. And as I said, it brought me a lot of happy memories 😅 I deleted what I wrote yesterday. I think what's good about kso is he is honest in his reactions - if he's not digging it, you know about it! Agreed, it pains me when people don't get a Ren track, because I want them to see the genius, but as you say - music tastes differ.
Dotta's been trolling youtubers, reactors and rappers, trying to get people to respond so he can get his name out there. He release two diss track for Knox Hill in the last few weeks but he wasn't taking the bait. Ren saw some of Dotta's comments on a video Michelle Show posted (michelle is a dude) slamming Ren and bullying his fans. So, according to Ren, he did a bit of digging and saw that Dotta has been dropping diss tracks and trolling other youtubers that he considers good people, trying to get clout. Ren said that he wasn't mad about Dotta's comments about him and his music, but mad about the bullying. He hates bullies cuz he was bullied and beaten up a lot as a kid, so as he said, he "poked the bear" figuring Dotta would take a shot at him. Whatever he said worked lol, cuz after some back and forth they agreed if Dotta dropped a diss track then Ren would respond. So this definitely didn't come out of left field. After Dotta dropped his Ren diss track though, called Kingdom Come, Knox Hill dropped a diss track for Dotta called Stan Remix. It was a few hours after Dotta's Ren track came out, which Dotta also went at Knox again. 24 hours later Knox dropped a second diss track. Idk that Ren really thinks Dotta is good, but he did say Dotta's style reminded him of rappers he grew up listening to and he liked that. There's been two artists that Ren has asked his fans to check out and support before, neither of them knew he was going to do that and basically overnight they each got like 10 thousand new subs. I think in his way he's trying to push Dotta to up his game, realize this is not the right way to make a name for yourself, and stop being a dick to people. Might have worked because Dotta said in his community tabs that after he drops another response to Knox, then he's done with diss tracks unless someone calls him out. He also said he has massive respect for Ren now and sounds really appreciative. Dotta was at just under 900 subs, his best video under 2000 views when he dropped his Ren diss. By the day after Ren dropped this, a lot his fans did as asked and subbed to Dotta to see what he can do. He gained nearly 2,000 subs, and his Ren diss track had 58,000 views last I looked. So Ren really helped this guy out, especially by flipping it and not wanting his fans to view Dotta as the villan. Ren absolutely held back, he could have obliterated this dude. But he didn't. He reminds me of my little brother. He had tons of friends because if someone else threw the first punch he'd put them down in their place, then help them up.
I really loved the ending because sometimes beef and rivalry can have devastating consequences like with Tupac and Biggie. So I love that he took the high road and said creators need to lift each other up, not tear each other down.

First off love your breakdowns. You can tell you understand hip hop at it's purest form and I don't see that in a lot of these reactors. But I have heard this "rap is a black thing" too many times to continue to ignore it. This narrative is about as wrong as a Cowboys fan who's from Philly. Lol. I was born in 1965 and became a hip hop head in 78. So I've personally witnessed the beginning of this. RAP WAS CREATED BY PREDOMINANTLY BLACK PEOPLE SIMPLY BECAUSE THE MAJOR OF THE PEOPLE WHO CREATED THIS WERE BLACK! L.L. Cool J was disco by AD ROCK from the beastie boys. RUN DMC as well as L.L. COOL J were managed by Rick Rubin. A white guy who loved hip hop and was the founder of Def Jam Records even though most people give that credit to Russell Simmons. I wish people would take the time to truly study the growth of hip hop because it is what it is today because of the diversity of different artists, black and whites and Latinos contributing to the culture.
You've never heard of King Dotta. Death right there. You're ready to push back on Ren when you feel he's stepping out of his territory, and you do that as a receptacle of the whole history of hip hop. The Dotta rap was a disappointment, nothing to say. EDIT: to be clear, I mean Dotta's own rap was a disappointment, there was no critique of Ren's output, just a load of bluster.

He had low hundreds of subscribers before he dissed Knox and Ren. He was up to 900 or so before the Knox disses hit him, and he lost a bunch after he dropped his "Kingdom Come" Ren diss. But he was hovering around 800 when Ren's diss dropped, and is currently at...let's see, 2.1K. So Ren's invitation basically doubled the size of his subs. Dotta's already dropped a new song that has nothing to do with the battle; we'll see what else he chooses to do with the spotlight, or if he decides to go back to the negative hater crap.
@@serendipitish It's not negative hater crap though, it's rap battle. Challenging people above you to battle for some of (or in some cases all) of their prestige is a hip-hop culture tradition. It's everywhere. Breakdancers have always done it, DJ's do it, and MC's do it. Hell, I've even seen graffiti artist beef/battle before. It seems negative and being a hater from the outside looking in to people that don't understand that culture, but it's a normal and completely acceptable part of the culture. In the spirit of hip-hop Dotta did nothing wrong, he just went about it the old school way, and he did gain some respect and followers for it, especially now since neither side took it personally and are both praising each other. It's all part of hip-hop and this whole thing was good entertainment for everyone involved, including us.

@@TwistedSisler I agree with all of that, and I've come to understand it better with every person like you who has provided the context -- I thank you for it! The challenge, the buildup, the diss track itself didn't bother me -- savage fun, entertainment like you said. I just didn't know how much to count Dotta's disdainful attitude in comment sections and chats as fair game in the battle, especially when the hate wasn't aimed at the target himself. It's all good now, and I really will be interested to see what he does next.
