Land of Hope and Glory would never be chosen in this day and age. The lyrics are far too jingoistic and apparently Elgar hated them. Such people never learned how to use their brains. The fact it is a metaphor but also Jerusalem being the Apple of God's eye and any who believe would want to build a place God would be pleased with, Jerusalem as God's Example is beyond such people. The fact a NEW Jerusalem is mentioned in Revelation is beyond most people. Written by a man who feared God and loved his Country and wanted it to improve in so many ways is beyond some poeple as I said. Land of Hope and Glory, rousing and patriotic. Unlike that Dirge "God save our gracious King/Queen" which incidentally is Great Britain's National Anthem not Englands, Whenever we compete against the Scots or the Welsh they sing their own countrys anthems "Scotland the Brave" and "Land of my Fathers" while we the English have to sing the National Anthem. And of course like, Yeat's 'Second Coming' it is prophecy! And that is why it has never been allowed to become the anthem. Because, just as Hitler refused to bomb England, because he considered them his Arian brothers, as Robert Sepher shows through Trump's bloodline this nationalism is what the Fake Jewish/Mystery School Cabal fears most. Hence the destruction of our flags & border invasions. This is the 'Protocoles of the Learned Elders of Zion's plan for world dominion.

Original poem written by William Blake, set to a melody by Charles Hubert Hastings Parry, and arranged by Sir Edward Elgar for orchestra and choir. I believe it is still sung at the beginning of every meeting of The Women's Institute (known by the nickname as Jam and Jerusalem) Oh, the "Indoor Stadium" you mentioned was the Royal Albert Hall, built from some of the proceeds of the Great Exhibition of 1851.

Elgar's orchestration is from 1922 (after Parry had died) and was made for the Leeds Festival. Parry's own orchestration is for smaller orchestra and was made for the Suffrage Demonstration Concert in March 1918. Parry was Oxford Professor of Music and Director of the Royal College of Music. He was very left-leaning and quite opposed to 'over-the-top' patriotism - as was William Blake, I suspect.

There is a legend that the Hebrew merchant Joseph of Arimethea came to southern Britain to trade. This was in the first decade or so AD, so England did not exist yet. Britain wasn't even conquered by the Romans, yet, though they too traded here. Anyway, Joseph apparently brought his nephew with him on one trip, the young Jesus. At Glastonbury, Joseph and Jesus stuck Joseph's staff into the ground and it blossomed. The Glastonbury Thorn Tree maintained an unusual pattern of blooming ever since. It certainly still existed in the late 20th century. William Blake's socialist-leaning poem (it's not intended as a battle cry for numpties dressed as crusaders), and the song, Jerusalem, are about the legend of Jesus visiting Britain, contrasting that with the industrial grime of England as Blake saw it in his lifetime. Essentially, "How did a land the Son of God found beautiful, become this oppressive shithole we see today?" And did those feet in ancient time Walk upon England's mountains green? And was the holy Lamb of God On England's pleasant pastures seen? And did the countenance divine Shine forth upon our clouded hills? And was Jerusalem builded here Among those dark Satanic Mills?

England doesn't have an official anthem, though this song, "Land of Hope and Glory", and "I vow to thee my country" are usually regarded as the three closest songs to one. Rousing and passionate - it would make a great official anthem. This is an excellent rendition of a beautiful song, with lyrics by the poet William Blake.
