Johnson is a supporting character all the way thru the 9 seasons. Not featured as much as super Hans but there a few ‘Johnson’ themed eps. So glad you get him, he is an epic character.

In case anyone hasn't seen the whole episode- there's a bit in the Rainbow rhythms class when they "rejected guy" tries to dance with Mark but Mark is determined to get to Sophie who is dancing with someone else and after trying to get past him, Mark tells him to get out of the way.

Peep show.. when Jezz and Mark come to a metaphorical fork in the road and there's an obvious correct path.. they always seems to opt for the other direction. Classicly brilliant.

The Rainbow rhythms class is just a sort of hippy, spiritual dance class that encourages self expression through movement. Most likely the average Peep show fan is not likely to attend such classes and would view these people as airy fairy types, or a bit pretentious and sometimes smug etc. The guy who plays Gwyn is excellent, he's SO unlikeable for those exact reasons 👌

As someone who grew up in North London, I've met dozens of Gwyns. A particular brand of smug, right-on wanker who was definitely a bully at his private school until he discovered that role-playing as a sensitive, "spiritual" quasi-hippy was an easy way to get into daft trustafarian girls' knickers. Barely underneath the gentle, open-minded facade there's a meanness and spitefulness. The actor absolutely nailed it.

It's a pastiche of estatic dance or Five rhythms which is the same format, the perfect place for Jez to pick up hippy dippy types and Mark to hate with a passion! Mark isn't going there for work, it's an evening "class" that Sophie goes to and Mark is sooo trying to get Sophie, even if it means entering his idea of hell in a hall!

Olivia Coleman (isn't60!) Won bunch of awards for "The Favorite"... great film. Also she's in a funny Brit series "Twenty-twelve" about planning 2012 Olympics. "WA1" another comedy series takes place at BBC. Hugh Bonneville stars in both. 😍😍😍😍😍

This is one of my favourite episodes, it just gets better and better 😅😅 Mark isn't at all gay, the Johnson thing was specific to Johnson. If anything Mark is more asexual really hense his confusion over his mancrush on Johnson. Jez on the other hand will basically shag anything under the right circumstances. It will become apparent

So when he likes Johnson he misunderstands and thinks it must be a sexual thing. Because he doesn't really understand a lot about feelings. Where you got mancrush=asexuality from what I said, I don't know. Maybe read it properly first next time!

23:25 - Just a teeny comment on this. I'd hope you realized that it's "all in his head", right? That's one of the things that make this show a "peep show", since we are hearing his innermost thoughts (mental and crazy thoughts, like we all have. All kinds of stuff that passes right by, that we don't even acknowledge). The whole balls thing is his insecurity about himself, but as the nurse said, there is nothing abnormal or wrong. And here we just get it confirmed that nobody really even notices it (I mean, would you "take notice and then talk about it" to him?). Just my two cents. We all get strange weird impulses. (Classic one is sitting with the person you love most in the world on a cliff edge looking at the view. The thought can hit you: "I could just push them off right now....". But of course we don't ACT on them). Aaaanywho. I know this video is a year old, but thought that was worth a mention if you didn't "get it" =)

Mark is mainly just self conscious abt looking weird lol. Half the jokes are meant to be the audience partly relating to mark or jeff but in a less extreme way
