Hey everyone. Unfortunately the reaction to episode 4 was blocked. And this reaction I had to take out a bunch of it in order to get it up on RU-vid. Sometimes these things happen unfortunately. Just know that I try to do everything I can to put full reactions on RU-vid whenever I can. For those that are interested, I post full un-cut reactions on my Patreon. www.patreon.com/THEkingboomer
NUS is National Union of Students. She’s asking if they do a discount for students as a lot of businesses do. Sometimes you have to show your NUS card, hence the question.
A Mediterranean cruise allows individuals to get off in Italy, Monaco, Spain, Greece (and the Greek Islands), North Africa, Capri etc. etc...Lots of opportunity to visit a load of countries (dependent upon how many days you've booked
If you look into the last part with the old couple dancing. The panel were genuinely laughing and couldn't stop but they kept it in because it came across so well.
Kay did film pastiches in his ‘That Peter Kay Thing’ series where one of them was picked up to become Phoenix Nights. ‘The Ice Cream Man Cometh’ doing Taxi Driver, Apocalypse Now.
When Potter said "Tell us a joke we know" that actually happened to him when he was beginning his stand up career. Can't remember where I seen it but it's actually true.
Was a mental asylum. Both nations having closed almost all of their asylums courtesy of Reagan and Thatcher. Leaving the lunatics to freely roam the streets or run for election.
Had the pleasure of seeing Peter Kay live last weekend, He was hilarious!!, we laughed till we cried! Honestly one of the best stand up comediens I've seen. He's lost a lot of weight. Almost didn't recognise him, he's doing weight watchers apparently 😂. Absolute legend!!.
Mediterranean cruises are very popular. There are lots of stops around the Med in different countries, including North Africa, so people get a taste of each country, without being at sea for days to get to the next place in the itinerary. I know people who have then gone back to a country they visited on a cruise for a full holiday in that location.
I love you and your channel man and I love that you’re enjoying this series, as regional as it is because even people outside of the north of England where it’s from would struggle with some of the jokes. But as someone who’s from a town not far away from where this is filmed. It’s killing me seeing you looking stone faced at some of the bits on this series that kill me as a northerner. I think you have to understand the English working class attitudes to fully appreciate it but I’m glad you’re enjoying it man! I’ve just subscribed to your patreon purely because I can’t wait to watch your full reactions. I’ve followed your channel for a couple of years now! ❤
One Carribean Island looks and feels almost identical to all of the other Carribean Islands. BUT*, Capri is very different from Crete, which is different from Venice, which is worlds apart from Dubrovnik. Each with thousands of years of history, seperate cultures, languages and cuisines to experience. The Carribean is lovely, but if I had to go on a cruise, kicking and screaming I'd take the Med over the Carib every time. *I like big butts and I cannot lie...
NUS means National Union of Students and they are able to obtain discounts in various establishments on production of their NUS card. However, Max not being the 'sharpest chisel in the toolkit' thought she was mentioning and offering him recreational drugs.
Robot Wars is a robot combat competition that was broadcast on British television from 1998 to 2004 and from 2016 to 2018. Jeremy Clarkson presented the first series, with Craig Charles taking over for the second to seventh series.
NUS is the National Union of Students. Members can use their NUS card to get discounts at some places, which is what she was engulfing about, but Max thinks it’s some kind of drug, like MDMA (Ecstasy). Mediterranean cruises visit a wide variety of locations, like Spain, Italy, Greece, Tunisia, Turkey, Egypt. They’re just as good as Caribbean cruises.
In my early 20's I worked on a cruise ship which went to the Mediterranean frequently. Plenty of places to see. For example the South of France, Italy, Malta, Greece, Tangiers, Morocco and and best of all Gibraltar. All very touristy and all very safe. And still many places to get off the ship and explore. Do not underestimate the Med.
How much time do you have at a stop-off? I always wonder if people have a full day or if they only have a few hours. That would explain people sticking to the highlights.
I was on a Mediterranean cruise in 2011, stopped at Gibralter, Florence (one of the most beautiful places i have ever seen), Rome, Corsica (Napoleons birthplace) Cadiz (Where Sir Francis Drake sank the Spanish fleet for Queen Elizabeth 1st, Lisbon and a beautiful little place in Spain called Baiona, all that history was much better than jumping off a cruise ship in the Caribbean and sitting on a beach all day
Mediterranean cruises are about visiting historical sites.. you get a lot of day trips from ports to cities like Rome, Florence, Barcelona, Marseille, Malta, Gibraltar etc. Caribbean cruises are about beach activities and no so much the history. Depends what you are wanting but both have advantages.
You could try watching a series called Still Game, its a Scottish series which at one point was the most pirates series in Canada apparently. But warning beforehand, you will need subtitles (I'm Scottish as well but from the opposite coast and struggled at times). You will also need to look up some of the slang
Robot wars, a British show originally hosted by Craig Charles (Lister from Red Dwarf). On the subject of Red Dwarf Robert Llewellyn (Kryten) hosted a show called scrapheap challenge that the Americans took and called junkyard wars, both class shows.
I went for a cruise round the Mediterranean when I was between years at secondary school (High School but in England) had a great time, spotted bottle-nosed dolphins, the monkeys at the rock of Gibraltar, even had a break with what I thought was bees but were actually humming birds
The benefits of a cruise around the Mediterranean means you can stop off and spend the day enjoying the welcome and delights in such magical places as Syria, Lebanon, Gaza and Libya.
There are people who have uploaded Robot Wars reactions to RU-vid, If you ever fancy rewatching (or first time for UK Robot wars?), That would be awesome!
I'm from a city not far from Peter Kay. I've been to see him a few times (in concert) and even seen him in Bolton, just out and about. If you like Peter Kay, have a look at Jason Manford. He's equally as funny, in the same way, too.
Sure, who wants to go on a cruise in the Meditterrean? Barcelona, Marseille, Napoli, Palermo, Athens, Sardinia, Cyprus, Crete, Tunis, Sardinia, Split. Just ports designed for tourists. Definitely not like the Caribbean, with its isolated, fenced-in tourist resorts.
Hull to rotterdam it just a over night car ferry to Holland, Been on it few times good laugh, can't have to much beer as the Dutch police breathalyse you when you drive off the ferry in the morning.
The DVD commentary story loosely connected to the guys in Bolton Wanderers shirts is hilarious. Peter Kay talks about a small guy, going into a pub, barman asked what he was in the area for, he replies "panto" & barman says "what one are you performing?" Little guy says "take a guess?" 😂😂 One at the back in a baseball cap was a woman disguised as a man, cos they could only find 6 males & a woman...
Im just stating ahead of time if you edit out Black Bin bags, I shall riot. Not that you will notice of course as I’ll do it politely from about an hours drive from the Phoenix!
When cruises go to America, west indies and Mexico they try to go to the best areas, but with money short the crowds of undesirables turn up with gambling, drugs, guns and prostitutes they tell passengers not to leave hotels where they can get all that or not go too far from the hotels. Some have been killed after leaving the grounds not paying their debts off, it helps pay for their bullets they've used up. Because gangs thought of as police spies or grasses in México. I have known people get robbed and before the police turn up, they have been robbed again of shoes and clothes from the first lot missed out on these couples. And old couple even moved out to Jamaica and were robbed ten times in six days. So they moved back to England after they made arrangements to sell their home out there and they were black. In Europe is a safe place on cruises here, you can stay a night or two in some coastal town or more nights and pickup the ship a few stops down the way in another country, all this can be arranged for a price it's not bang bang bang and then your taken back to where you set off from and get a coach to the airport and back home no some have combined coach travel with ship travel holidays a coach takes you to vineyards and mountainous areas with stays of two nights back to the ship and moves on to the next port and so on Love mom
N.U.S. = National Union of Students. She was asking if they could get a student discount on the entrance price if she showed her NUS membership card. Max had never heard of it either and assumed it was drugs...
