There's actually a very weird evolutionary history for moths and butterfly, butterflies evolved from moths, but moths evolved from a species similar to modern butterflies, so they had a tube mouth to a regular insect mouth, back to a tube mouth. The *really* weird thing is these older butterflies had tube mouths for sucking nectar from plants before plants evolved to make nectar. Sorry for the word salad, hopefully everyone understands what I mean

Moths do have eyes but they are mostly blind, They navigate by seeing ultraviolet rays we can't see. They have one of the most basic eyes in the animal kingdom which is called (Ocelli) which can only differentiate dark from light. It's why they always gravitate towards your lights in a house/apartment if inside.

Mandy's look of joy on her face when a Karl episode begins is something to behold! Insects Episode - I was honestly expecting Ricky would find the opportunity somewhere to scold Karl for confusing spiders with insects, David Mitchell style. David Mitchell to Sara Pascoe on WILTY: "They're not insects they're arachnids" and "Let's be factually inaccurate..." When Stephen challenged Karl with "What sort of stuff, any examples?" I knew Karl always has examples, I mean every - single - time, no matter how bizarre or unbelievable they may seem!

Re: Attempting to revive the bee: I'm paraphrasing the conversation I had here, as it's been a while... About 15 years ago I worked at a call center for an animal welfare organisation. We'd take reports of injured or distressed animals and send someone out to investigate/rescue them. One time, a woman phoned and told me that she had found a dead seagull, most likely a Herring Gull. Of course, they're not endangered, so while finding one dead is sad, it's not something that needs to be reported. I thanked her for letting us know and explained that no further action need be taken. "Aren't you going to send someone out?" she asked. Curious, I asked why we would send someone out, bearing in mind what I just told her. "Can't one of your officers try to revive it?" she asked. For the first time in that job, I was actually speechless, and sat for a few seconds with my mouth open. Eventually I answered "I'm sorry, I'm afraid our officers are not trained to resuscitate dead seagullls". I was aware of the odd (very rare) occasion where cats or dogs had been resuscitated, but seagulls might have been asking a bit much. Besides, it could have been dead for hours, and it would likely be at least another hour before we could get someone there (the organisation is a charity with no public funding, so its resources are limited). The woman, sounding vaguely surprised and disappointed thanked me for my time and said her farewells, leaving me to scratch my head and figure out how to word the call notes.

Sorry I'm late on this but yes, the Fahrenheit / Celsius thing is true, but there is a generational divide I think. Brits born before 1980 can often think in both scales and will often use Fahrenheit to highlight high temperatures, and Celsius to highlight low ones. The "minus 3, minus 4" (or whatever) that Ricky mentioned would've been in Celsius, because -3° sounds colder than 25°. And then the 60° in Fahrenheit because it sounds hotter than 16°. This is nothing you don't know by now, just wanted to put my two cents in. And like I say, younger people, millennials onward, do this a lot less because they scarcely remember Fahrenheit and have no intuition for it. Also, FYI, 100°F is 37.8°C. Anything over 30°C (86°F), especially for 3 days or more, tends to be classed as a heatwave in the UK. Don't laugh. 😅

Karl is actually very intuitive and unique in his thinking but far from stupid, he has a lot of common sense and far from stupid, he dragged himself up from nothing, early on in the xfm radio show days when he first started working with ricky and steve, he was the producer, and was very good at his job, he played along with a lot of what he became known for, not to say he isnt genuine, but he knows what ricky and steve are after, even Ricky has said he was in on it a lot, even though non of it was ever rehearsed or written. He cant be compared to a punch drunk ufc fighter who is genuinely thick as shit, and not at all funny. Im glad you like karl though.

Caveman with hair gel is funny...Its amazing how gullible Karl is because that hair would have decomposed by now...I still love listening to his waffle though.

I keep thinking the movie 007 Octopussy. 😂And at the end of one Sanford and Son episode, they called insects "incest." 😂 Since Karl mentioned jelly fish, I heard if you get stung by one, a good way to stop the stinging is to have a friend piss on the site of the sting. 🤢People who have been through that say it actually works. My favorite curse word: Fuck. Second favorite: Shit. Third favorite: Ass. Interesting Karl is so comfortable letting them read his diary. Pause at 30:53. I feel that way sometimes. If aliens had eyes. If fish had eyes. 😂 Karl cracks me up with his stories. Watch a moth in a jar. Let a lady bug crawl up his arm. His stories like that are like a ten year old on an elementary school playground or in his back yard. 😂 And now, I'm off to use my harry potty. 😂Mr. Chug Big Hole, out. 😂

If we are going to talk natural MMA fighting comedians, Chael Sonnen takes the cake. That guy could have easily done stand up, but he knows he is funny. Nick Diaz just is... 🤪

I could give you names of very famous fish that have died... Clarissa is the first to come to mind, caught at 44lb by Chris Yates from Redmire. It was the British record for years. Then there was Benson the huge common carp... It's always sad to see these fish go...

So there was 1 moth in the room, then 2 moths and then 9 moths. That's 12 in total, right? You do the moths :) haha. Well, another great reaction video that I saved up for the right moment of the day. Your laughs make it all worthwhile. The one at the beginning of the first poem was great :) Karl's poems are a delight. The machinations of Karl's thoughts in rhyme. What more could we want? Octopi, is the plural btw. Thank you for doing what you do. Harry Potty & the Chamber of bowel movements.

@@MandyCaneLane For years, whenever I didn't feel all too good, I would put on RSK (Ricky, Steve and Karl). It made me feel better. Even now, next to my bed is my MP3 player and not one piece of music is on there. It's all British comedy. I listen to it every night to get me off to sleep. RSK is therapy. If you're in that kind of mood, it's the best time to watch them or listen to them. It will more than likely do the job. BTW, what Karl does for you...you do for me.
