Hi from Germany! I went to a sauna a few weeks ago. It wasn't a spa per se, more like part of a hotel with a pool and gym section, were visitors are welcome (for a fee). On that day I ran into my old school teacher (Deutsch und Geschichte) and the cashier of my local supermarket (Lidl). As a 48yo male nothing was weird sitting down naked with these women (one in her 60s and one twentysomething). We had a nice small talk. Maybe you are right. Maybe nudity, prudency and sexuality have another meaning in other parts of the world, but I like it here as it is. (Btw: 3x 15mins 90°C with 'Aufguß' and cold showers in between is the most what my body can handle.)

The Finns, the inventors of the sauna, even have portable saunas so they can be used at outdoor parties...

That is not just in Germany but many places in Europe. And please remember, the USA is not the rule, but the exception, here again. And Americans are weird, not us.

Being nude is not only normal in saunas, but on beaches and lakes where no bathing clothes are worn at all and whether sex nor age does matter. We are all born naked, it’s our natural state being naked. FKK-Freikörperkultur (translates to free body culture) areas are pretty normal and can be found everywhere in Germany where swimming in outdoor lakes and beaches is possible.

Normal from Austria going north. Finland gave the hot sauna its name. Not normal in Italy, there you go clothed. Italians are far to occupied with „la Bella figura“, looking good. Being naked is too basic.

Because of safety and privacy but if it's all Germans not as wierd but still stuff happens so i think that's why in America were on the safety side so crime is more hut i think that's why
