Maybe no one has told you... but Big Hit (BTS' company) does not give copyright strikes, so you don't need to skip around in an official MV. Also, all MVs have English subtitles (cc button). That being said, BTS is famous for complex choreography, cinematic MVs and deep/meaningful lyrics. There's also a lot of subtext, so you need to know that there are explanation videos out there. I highly recommend BTS IDOL Explained by a Korean from the channel DKDKTV.

as someone who listens to lots of kpop groups, bts is totally beyond kpop and shouldn't be put in the same box as the rest. they are more than just kpop, they are artists who bring so much pride and heritage to south korea.

Being unfamiliar with other cultures isn't being closed to them. I knew very little about Korea before I started following BTS , they have influenced my life so much that I've been researching things about Korean History and Im planning on going there for a 2 month holiday next year as the country has a very diverse culture. BTW boy with luv is one of their easier dances. You never know what your going to get with BTS as they change things up all the time.
