The incredible thing is that Guy sings the rap as well during this performance. He wrote it without the rap but he decided to send it to Lupe Fiasco in the USA and ask if he would write the rap...Lupe did and they made the single Battle Scars. Lupe also included this in his new album which was nominated for a Grammy. And in Australia it was a #1 hit for Lupe and Guy. It also made it onto the USA Billboards charts. Guy writes all his own songs and writes about real situations and life struggles. His latest #1 hit was Believer which he wrote for his wife. You are so right. It is an amazing song and can really hit you in the heart....You possibly heard it over it there in US. He originally released with LUPE FIASCO and it was a big over there. Currently one of Australia's best singer songwriters and coach on The Voice
One of the nicest things I have seen is Guy going to sing with a school choir practising his song called Choir for a concert they were going to hold. The kids reactions when he walked in is fantastic. You can find it under Guy Sebastion surprises school choir singing The Choir.

I think his most unerversally important songs he ever wrote is also his most underrated, and is worthy of replacing John Lennon's " Imagine". It's called " Get Along". Another criminally underrated song was the duet with American Jordin Sparks "Art Of Love"
I agree about Get Along. It's an amazing and powerful song. Love the lyrics of Imagine and was amazed when Guy released Get Along. Then he released Standing with You. Guy is an amazing writer and singer.

I always loose it when I listen to this song too. I'm 49 this year but when I was 18 I was in a really bad car accident, I broke my lower back and multiple places in my pelvis, my legs and feet were crushed and I have a brain injury which affects my memory and balance. This also gave me horrific scaring. So my battle scar's were some you can see and some that you couldn't, like my emotional and mental scar's, even today, life is so hard with chronic pain, that's 24hrs a day for the rest of my life. So even if it causes me pain I have to do one thing that's positive, that's productive, not being able to do much gives you a lot of perspective. Yeah songs are a release, they can heal you and they can drop you to your knees in tears. Awesome reaction and I appreciated your thoughts about Guy Sebastian and his song. Hi CV! You may have heard this with Lupe Fiasco and Guy! I think he went to the U.S. and recorded it with Lupe! However it is his song that he wrote and recorded it! A.N.Z.A.C. Means Australian and New Zealand Corps. It was about the First World War and the battle that occurred in Turkey in 1915! You should look it up! When I first saw Guy as a contestant all those years back I immediately thought yeah just another image winner without true talent. How bloody wrong I was.
I got the shock of my life when I watched the auditions for this (then) new show called Australian Idol and Guy from the cricket club appeared on tv. Had no idea he could sing, now the whole world knows that. What they don't know I can fill in.... He's not good at cricket!
