Anzacs., Australian and New Zealand Army Corps…young men, some as young as 15-16yrs old, signed up for war and went sent in on request of the British to Gallipoli in Turkey in 1915. It was a military disaster with huge losses, but, it wasn’t just another battle. The soldiers fought with honour, dignity and immense bravery on both sides. It’s the basis for the idea of Australian mateship, it is part of our national identity and that we should never let the sacrifices of those people who lost their lives in any conflict on behalf of our country ever be forgotten.

He was my singing teacher at school. Such a beautiful family. His brother won The Voice last year. He started singing in church and everyone who knows him loves him. What you see is what you get. He genuinely cares and believes in people and will always help where he can. He is a diamond in a sea of zirconias.
Guy wrote this song and asked Lupe Fiasco to write the rap...he agreed and Lupe got his first number 1 hit in Australia...both put it on their albums and Lupe's album was nominated for a Grammy...Guy's went to Number 1 and had numerous awards including Gold & Platinum Records. Guy went to the USA and did the Letterman show, Conan Obrien, and Jimmy Fallen shows with Lupe....The best on being on The Conan show. Guy had a heavy cold didn't think he'd be able to sing....but he blew everyone away with his vocals...

Welcome to the magic that is Guy Sebastian 😁 he’s big here in Australia especially in his home town of Adelaide where I live, although I still think he’s massively underrated. He won the first season of Australian Idol in 2003. He grew up singing in his church’s choir & just has an insane voice (& not just him, his brother Chris won The Voice last year too 😁). He’s been a judge on Australia’s versions of X Factor & The Voice & competed for Australia in World Idol & Eurovision, to top it off he’s one of the nicest, most humble, down to earth guys. So so glad you’ve seen what he can do, I hope you check out some of his other stuff. His song ‘Choir’ is awesome & won an ARIA (Australian version of a Grammy I guess lol) for song of the year 💗
I went to the same church as him when I was pregnant. My son used to love telling kids at school that he spewed up on Guy Sebastian when he was a newborn 🤣🤣 And, just let me TELL YOU!! From someone who went to church with him.. his voice can reduce you to tears.. and he has brothers too!! And they ALL can sing! 🥰 I'm not religious anymore but listening to him live is an actual spiritual experience
Nah he wasn't in the choir. The choir was mostly for show. I was in the choir around the time of Australian Idol. Anyone with real talent was a soloist or a backing singer.
I have to say I never took Guy seriously until he brought out Bloodstone and I started taking notice, then saw this on Homefront and I was thinking to myself that I have just witnessed greatness. This truly is incredible. I know he brought this out with a rapper, but he should bring it out as just him.

So true Ash, I never understood that. I arrived in Oz in 2000 and back then all the radio/tv music was 90% Americanand British stuff. I’ve seen and fell in love with so many amazing artists such as Selwyn, Disco Montego, electric Empire etc that today are pretty forgotten. I hope now that we don’t depend on tv and radios our local talents will have the public they always deserved

You need to hear him sing Climb Every Mountain when he was in Australian Idol. He’s a judge on Australian Idol and has done a lot of work both singing, songwriting and producing with American artists, producers etc. His background is that he was a music teacher as a teenager and also sang in church choir - listen to his song Choir.

Love seeing people react to Guy for the first time, they are always amazed they never heard of him before. We are amazed that he isn't huge overseas. Such an amazing voice and talent. Proves talent is just a small part of making it big. He is huge and loved in Australia, and had some success in USA with this song with Lupe Fiasco but then was quickly forgotten. Such a shame he deserves better.
