I worked with a guy that used to be a demolitions tech, he was asked to move a boulder from a creek one time, he thought it would shatter and he could move the smaller bits, nope the boulder stayed in one piece, went flying in the air about 50m and back to basically the same spot, he said it was cool to see but not the best outcome.

Just for your information. Coits is a game where little circular rope Donuts are thrown at a peg in the ground. We say that the little rope circles look like a butt hole. We refer to butt holes as "coits ". That's why Russell Coit is funny to Aussies.
@Jeni10
@Jeni10 Год назад
Quoits: A game in which players toss rings at a stake, called the hob. A ring that encircles the hob scores two points for the thrower; a ring closer to the hob than an opponent’s scores one. The rings are usually made of iron and weigh about three pounds, but rope or rubber rings are also used. It has been said that the game was played in Roman-occupied Britain (1st-5th century), or it may have been developed in medieval Britain, perhaps when peasants heated and bent horseshoes into rings and tossed them at iron pegs driven into the ground.

Working Dog Productions is a collaboration of comedians created out of the success of 'The Late Show' which screened in Australia in the early 90's. Basically they were a bunch of Uni-graduates who got lucky on Australia's national broadcaster. They have produced TV and Movies ever since, Including "Frontline' & 'Utopia' on the small screen and 'The Castle' and "The Dish' on the big screen.

@@ebbhead20 Firstly, when someone says "Manchester", everyone knows they're talking about England unless they specify some other place (like if someone says "London' - there are a lot of 'London's in the world, but if you say you're from London without adding a country, people will always assume England). Second, the woman had a strong Manc accent - listen to any Mancunian talk and you'll immediately connect the dots. Also, "Manchester House' (the linen store), was named that because it sells linen, which in Australia is also called 'manchester', due to the fact that all Australian linen was originally made in and imported from Manchester, England.

As he drove the old car onto the trailer it pushed the rear of the trailer down which lifted the rear wheels of the 4wd off the ground. As the handbrake of the 4wd works on the rear wheels of the 4wd and the rear wheels were in the air, the empty 4wd, the trailer and the old car with my brother in law in it went flying off down the hill into his dam. "working dog" isn't random to us. We describe all those farm dogs (Sheep Dogs. Kelpies. Aussie Cattle Dogs) as "Working Dogs", it's a common reference to an Aussie. People "perish" in the outback ALL THE TIME, particularly when their cars break down and they try to walk out. Then the next they are heard of is when their bleached bones are found 10 years later by some other tourist who's car has broken down in the bush somewhere.

If people are going into the bush on their own, they can buy tiny, light weight Epirbs that they can activate in an emergency, and/or they can go to a local police station & give their details & their planned route & return date, so that authorities know if something has happened & can start searching in a timely manner. Even better is to take someone with you in addition to the above, but the above are options for people who want to risk their lives alone in the Aussie bush. It's not really something we all do, but a cousin of mine had got his explosives certificate and we decided to move an old dead tree. 13 kilos of nitropele (sic) and a stick of gelignite sent that 200' baby straight up well over 100' and showered us with kinda lethal fragments well over 250 yards away. You do learn a lot with experience, if you survive!

That was definitely a British accent and not Australian. Completely different, as opposed to American vs Canadian accents, which are indistinguishable. ;)

Reminds me of some 90's "acquaintances" who decided to strap some dynamite to a small wild pig for laughs. They all stood there holding their hunting dogs back from chasing after the pig, while the squealing piglet got strapped up with a suicide vest. The fuse was lit and the pig ran straight under a new 4WD.
