Midsummer eve is always on a friday and midsummer day on a saturday, between the 19th and 25th, this year the days fell on 23rd and 24th. Happy midsummer!

People celebrate the Midsummer in different ways. Here are some of them. The mythological background to the festivities, spells and traditions: "VisitFinland White Night Magic - FINLAND". For some reason VisitFinland skipped the alcohol part: "Korroosio Comedy Korroosio - Juhannus". Korroosio missed the barn dances (in Finnish only): "Pirkko Kulkurin matkassa #5 - Lavatanssit" Pirkko left out the music: "Yölintu - Jätkän humppa ( Las Palmas Joensuu )". Many spend the Midsummer on summer cottages: "VisitFinland Hymn for Cottage Life - FINLAND" and "Trying Finnish Self Care Summer Habits | Ep.1 | Peaceful Cottage Culture". Like Mölkky/Finska here, outdoor games are often part of the program: "Curious Planet FINSKA - The Great Outdoor Game From Europe". This Midsummer the weather is probably going to look a bit like here: "Running with Marc Finnish Summer Cottage Life - Holidays at Home". Some stay in the city, but nature is not far. Here people are celebrating the Midsummer in Helsinki in a traditional way with a wedding included. There's an open-air museum on Seurasaari island, so it's a nice location for such an event: "Discovering Finland Seurasaari Open-Air Museum in Helsinki" and "Seurasaaren Juhannus 2016 (Seurasaari Midsummer Bonfires)". Some spend the Midsummer on waters: "VisitFinland Ari the Steamboat Captain - FINLAND". The young people often prefer festivals: "Himos Juhannus 2022 - Official After movie".

Greetings from Finland man!!! Midsummer is this Friday officially this year, so i got sum new potatoes with butter, sum steaks, potato sallad, bacon wrapped around different flavored sausages that I'm going to barbecue, my own sauna and ofc lot's of vodka 😎 I tried to find a video for you about new potatoes and butter but didn't find any.. It's sad i mean it's one of the biggest favorites for people here in Finland during the summer!!! "i'll be back" 😎

Finnish is kinda unforgivable, these guys have been learning finnish for a long time but their "foreigner-finnish" will always stick. my friends mom has lived in finland for like 40 years and still her foreigner accent is super clear. only way you can get rid of it is if you are born into Finland. that friend i was talking about, he isnt even finnish but his finnish is super clear because he was born here. This is probably the biggest reason why some people dont move here, you need to learn finnish. respect to these guys, i respect any foreigner that decides to learn the monster of a lanmguage that is finnish.

perfect example how i can tell they don't really speak finnish. I haven't ever heard anybody else than finnish to master it. Roman Schatz? is close but yea. Again best to do it is just talk like these guys do. Just hurt my ears..lol

I can't listen that butchering my language...
