American Reacts To Protests In Europe - Why Are Countries Protesting?

Hello everyone! It has been a long time and I hope many of you are still here with me. I needed to take a long break for myself and get other things taken care of. I have recently seen videos of farmers in France and other countries blocking roadways and spreading manure all over. I was made aware of the delays my Christmas package would endure due to Finland having their own protests.
These events made me curious to learn more about hat is really happening and why these protests are happening. I've noticed how different they are but also how similar they are from the way our protests in the USA turn out. I hope the very best for all of you that will be negatively affected by these changes and for a resolution.
Thank you for watching & have a GREAT day!

Welcome back. As you know, the Finnish strikes are not the same as the farmers protests. The only similarity, is thay people are angry with their governments. I can only say a little about the Finnish protests. One of my Finnish friends explained it to me this way: ' The main parties in government, are the rich people's party, the racist party and the Swedish party. The rich people's party want to roll back the state in the same way Thatcher did in the UK in the 1980's. That would give them scope to cut taxes for the wealthy. The racist party wants to reduce immigration, but being a relatively new, working class party, they shafted their voters to get into government. I'm sure they didn't mean to, but they were negotiating a coalition with far more experienced politicians.' (The description of the parties are her words) Finland is similar to Ireland, a poor country that has become wealthier in the past few decades. That rise in wealth hasn't benefitted everyone equally, so successive Finnish governments have supported a welfare state so that the poor do not get left completely behind. Now they are seeing that welfare state being taken apart so that the wealthy few, can become wealthier. I hope I haven't offended any Finnish people. If I have got it wrong, please correct me below. Kiitos.

Thank you for still being here and caring! I apologize for my absence but I needed to focus on some other parts of my life for a while. All is good and I should be uploading more frequently again. I like your explanation and plan to dig deeper into the election happening this year. I have never paid attention to any other country hold election nor have I ever looked into what the different parties represent. It is election year for us too in November. I'm able to vote again and registered to vote so this will be my first time since 2012. I couldn't vote in 2016 or 2020 due to having a felony on my record. Our Democrat Governor in Kentucky passed a law giving felons their right to vote back, after competing their sentence & parole/ probation. I live in a very Right Wing Republican area. Many of them cannot stand our Governor but it's hard for me to not like someone and appreciate them for changing the laws to allow me to vote again. He's actually done a lot for felons and making it harder for employers to turn them away just for past mistakes. Have a great day

French farmers have historically been protesting a lot more than farmers in most other European countries.

In Europe you can block with tractors by law if you have concept and inform the police.
@itsmebrysonp

For clarification, do you mean that you can protest using tractors and block roadways as long as you inform the police that is how you plan to do it? Thanks and have a great day!

@@itsmebrysonpexactly, same for most european countries. if you inform the police when u will protest, it will just be less hassle for both sides.

Very bloodthirsty, indeed, Leopold, but so the French have had despotes and dictators enough, which is enraging of course. Mireille sings like another fierce Jeanne d'Arc. 😀

Marseille against Paris and Brussels has its merits, but this is the European song that I hope would guide us through thick and thin: ... alle Menschen werden Brüder... (meaning that all nations will be like brothers) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ah__4g01y_M.html

😊This has been a long road to this point, especially in Finland. Years of Covid and the war have more impact in a small coutry and new investments to our defence/military. Inflation, housing crises, recession hitting especially building/ construction companies and workers and farmers......etc. it takes longer to bounce back with limited resources. Political, social and cultural changes, like in Sweden and Finland are causing a political shift to "right". Very serious problems with criminals (drugs, guns, human trafficking, prostitution...), who took advantage of immigration friendly countries are now causing all kinds of problems. And it could seem as "negative" attitudes toward immigrants. Many other countries also, the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece....The last thing we need is a Russia supporting President and his Party (Minions) in the White House. Best Regards from Finland ❤😊

And nordic countries always looked at Denmark before as "not as welcoming"" of a country as our counterparts, with our strict immigration laws D: Oh, the irony.

@@TheAlkochef Absolutely right!! I totally agree. We Finns are always late😓. You have been the "first line of defense". And Sweden is paying the price also. I salute you all. Hats off what you did for Ukraine❤❤❤🇩🇰. Amazing. All the best and love from Finland.
