...😲WOW!!! Never heard this before! This guy's command of accents both within the British Isles and far beyond is hugely impressive. As an Aussie I can say he even did pretty well with ours about 80% of the time. Regardless of whether or not he was 100% accurate with all of them, he's pretty amazing! No wonder this has over 3 million views.

When writing in accent it is actually more common to spell it Sowf African. Best example Google "Wimpy talk foreign" for a South African made advert showing it, however there are around 10 different ways of expressing English from a South African perspective depending on part of the country, social status, cultural background etc.

To our American cousins across the pond, we have many different accents in Britain and Ireland. 😊. In England, there is the West Country (Pirate accent). Northern England accents, such as Manchester called (Mancunians), Liverpool called (Scousers), Yorkshire, Newcastle called (Geordies), and more. In midlands, there is Birmingham called (Brummies) and of course you know cockneys from London. And there are many more accents

I'm really bad with accents. I can't even get rid of my very heavy German accent when taking English. Therefore that's really impressive. I have to say that there are a lot of different Scottish accents, so doing only one generic one, was a bit disappointing. You can also hear his own accent through all the accents. I'd love to see a video like this with different people saying the same thing in their own accent.

A Kiwi accent is like an Aussie accent, but with the vowels mixed around. Six becomes sux, sex becomes six, seven becomes siven, pin becomes pun etc etc. We Aussies give Kiwis a pretty hard time about it 😅

If think about it Australia was directly British until the 1930s and the bulk (over 80 per cent of the population came from the UK) and until the 1970s they really only encouraged Brits to immigrate there so that’s why you feel that the accent sounds closer to ours. Also in comparison with the States whilst about 40 per cent are British descended because it separated in the 1700s it had a much shorter period of direct British influence. Canada to us also sounds very similar to America but that’s because they had lots of influence from the USA as well as the fact the bulk of loyalists after losing the American War Of Independence moved to Canada. New Zealand is equally as British as Australia but the accent is also influenced by the Maori population who make up about 15 per cent of the population. South Africa has a whole range of accents from very close to British to not, and it’s because half of the white population was British descended and half were Dutch descended.

The Chinese one definitely was not like any Chinese I've heard talking English, I would not have recognised it as "Chinese". From Hong Kong, so people who have grown up with Cantonese and British English makes sense, because most Chinese I know are from farther North (Bejing, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Jiangsu, Shanghai). Most others from outside of the UK, I would have guessed correctly.

Ok. Hey Ryan, this is probably the the first comment on your reactions, which are very enjoyable. I'm not absolutely sure coz sometimes i'm even more drunk than now. But anyway, I feel feel kind of discriminated (against?), as that British bloke was not up to impersonating us Finns, speaking proper Rally English! For example: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-I5846fmRRmU.html It is also very infectious, as my Czech wife and I (or me?) communicate mostly in English, and when she was going to an English course at work, in Prague, with a native English speaker as a teacher, he told that my wife has a kind of Scandinavian accent. Ha-ha! He didn't know that Finland is not a part of Scandinavia, even as we are a Nordic country... So there! Or it could be that I'm part Swedish (genetically), and we still have mandatory swedish lessons at school here in Finland. But I started school swedish from 0%, as my parents spoke only Finnish to me, which was recommended by stupid experts at the time. I could have gotten both languages for free as a child, and avoided countless hours of misery of forced instruction. Fy fan! My children speak fluent Czech and Finnish, and their English is not too bad, as they were listening us speak it from very young, even as we speak our own languages to the kids. Anyways, keep the videos coming, and have a great day!!!

The Japanese was a bit of. The biggest thing to notice on engrishu is that they don't have either r or l sounds but a sound in between those two, so it is hard to tell if they are saying r or l. I just had to critique when you did not see any comment of it on the video.

Gotta say, was not really a fan of his take on the German speaking English. Sounded more like an American trying to sound german than a German trying to not sound German... I think it's about the R's and how the vowels are formed. While, yes, we do have only diphtongs in specific cases in our language but a normal vowel sounds like a normal vowel from the phonetic table, when we speak English, we tend to actually speak with the diphtongs of the English language, we may mix up the diphtongs sometimes if we're not as experienced with English, but we do not just apply German vowels in English. the German R does not sound like the Spanish or the English but is more close to the French for comparison, so when a German who's unexperienced with English speaks English, he/she would use the german R and not a rotic R for some reason. Then, usually, Germans do not speak English this choppy, a minority of Germans who are at a very low speaking level of English may (e.g. the Austrian Arnold Schwarznegger in the 80s), but not the typical German. Different consonants that Germans would tend to use would be S/Z instead of TH, or tsh/tsch instead of ch in words like to chop for example. This wouldn't be as pronounced as when an English speaker tries to immitate it but more integrated into the flow of the sentence melody. Sorry, just had to put it out there, kinda starts to annoy that for some reason everyone internationally seems to register the German accent in English as 80s Schwarznegger instead of how it actually sounds 😅
