Sorry for all the comments, just have a lot to add!! Those fries aren't burnt they're just made of different things for example sweet potato and things like that

No problem at all. I enjoy the engagement. Sweet potato fries are terrible in my opinion lol but I thought those seemed way to dark even for sweet potato fries. 🤷🏾‍♂️

I had McDonald's for the first time in months 2 days ago. As soon as I started eating the burger, I just thought "I wish I'd spent more money and got a five guys instead." Those weird fries at the start btw? Root vegetables, sweet potatoes, carrots, beets, parsnips, etc. As fries they are hit and miss but as crisps (chips to you) they can be absolutely delicious).
@JustAverageLarry
@JustAverageLarry Год назад
🤔🤔🤔 they all sound bad 😂😂 but yes five guys is quite a step above McDonalds. Just a little too pricey for me to make the jump most days.
@TheWackyCC

@JustAverageLarry you just need to lie to yourself. Don't tell yourself it's fast food, tell yourself you're going for a sit down meal, just instead of steak you've picked a gourmet burger. It doesn't seem so bad spending £50 on burgers and fries then...

I understand the worries about the containers not being properly cleaned (I've been in the industry, I know some workers couldn't care less if they saw a fork with food still stuck in it after it was washed), but let me tell you something: McDonald's restaurants in Europe (at least the four countries I've visited one at and the one I worked at) are among the most hygienic places I've seen, and they take cleaning more serious than many five star hotels I've worked at. At my restaurant we only had trays to wash, but even those had their own special room, their own washer, their own cleaning station, and we had to manually dry and prepare each tray before it was ready for use again, and we'd usually do this at the front during off-peak hours so that the occasional customers staring at us while waiting for their order "forced" even the most careless worker to do it properly. I know the unnerving feeling of having a customer say "you missed a spot there!" when polishing glasses at bars, so I guess the management was going for the same effect here. Even our pots for the soup were taken care of better than in restaurants and hotels: Rather than being thrown in a cupboard or a rack, they had to be fully sealed in cling film and kept in boxes with lids so they didn't get dusty. I still remember when the new food safety/quality practices were adopted and we had to throw out patties that were ten minutes old and warn a manager that we were producing too much food waste... The previous practices called for fifteen minutes old, so they really try to be as strict as humanly possible. All and all, I can't complain about European McDonald's from either a worker or a customer viewpoint.

I noticed Americans are clueless to vegetables. Those “fries” are veggie fries. They can be carrots or sweet potatoes and they are organic/natural: so they come in orange, purple and yellow colours. They are so good and they come topped with pepper and salt. Those look amazing. It’s funny that your first scene is being disgusted by them. 😂

Sorry, but do you worry about using plates and cutlery from a resturant? They could have just licked it clean for all you know. I really think this is the way forward! For inside resturants at least.
@JustAverageLarry
@JustAverageLarry Год назад
Yeah but glass and metal would be easier to sanitize for a dish washer than plastic. But sure, any restaurant could be disgusting.. you just typically associate a more upscale place with being cleaner..

Moved to Ireland from the States 13 years ago. I love Europe. Can't see myself ever moving back to the States. (By the way, I don't eat McDonald's.)

I know this is probably obvious but if you destroy any old Macdonalds you won't become famous now haha. He became famous as it was sort of like a catalyst at the time, there was a lot of anti-america sentiments due to the trade embargos obviously, so him destroying this beacon of American culture (Whilst I know Macdonalds isn't all that there is in America, it's the most recognisable and famous symbol of America), was seen as an act of protest against such embargos (so it was more about the politics of it rather then the fact a Macdonald was destroyed)
@JustAverageLarry

Yeah I get it… I guess I just thought it was kind of wild that the act catapulted him so far.. but it also was a different time back then.. now a days you get like 3 days in a news cycle at best 😂

You say you would be worried about sanitation, but do you feel the same way when you go to any restaurant that uses plates and glasses?
@JustAverageLarry
@JustAverageLarry Год назад
Not really because most of those places have a designated person there washing the dishes.. and typically it’s glass and metal which is easier to sanitize than plastic or rubber.

@@JustAverageLarry I presumed it would all be made dishwasher proof so it can be done like in pubs or restaurants, but since I hated Paris when I went I’m not likely to be able to check lol

Some of the French McDo food actually looks edible. I tried a UK McDonalds over 15 years ago and the food was crap. not been back since. Almost any other fast food is better unless it has improved.
