"Going from stepping on roaches to stepping by the Beatles." - Wretch 32 has recorded at Abbey Road Studios where the Beatles made most of their albums and famously had their photo taken crossing the road. He literally stepped by the Beatles.
And (as with all Wretch material) there's another couple of layers in this line - roaches = the filter left at the end of joints after they've been smoked. So he's gone from an environment where he was literally 'stepping on roaches' to Abbey Road where, as you say, the Beatles recorded - then the other layer is the symbolism of the roach (cockroach) and the beetle - both types of invertebrate (or insect if you want to be more general) - you see a cockroach and you step on it - see a beetle and you're more like to leave it alone (step by) it.

Sorry in the sense of that this kinda feels like one of those old Mike Tyson boxing matches, when he was coming up. Some guys went up, tagged him a few times and were thinking "I'm doing pretty good" until Mike started getting rythm. You can see the same on avelinos face.
