The core American Pie movies were great, but this one is special. The audience grew up with the characters and it feels like a love letter to the fans. I love the core group and this was the perfect send off for them if they never make another sequel with them.
Unapologetically BEST moment in the film. The Milf bros reunion and reconciliation. As someone who was "THE" age for this series. I grew up as the characters grew up. The nostalgia when Reunion was released. God. 😂😊😊
We need a 5th movie real bad. Have the gang go to Vegas for a vacation, only to discover it's for a wedding between Noah (Jim's Dad) and Jeanine (Stifler's Mom), to where Jim and Stifler become stepbrothers. AMERICAN FAMILY
Nah at this point make it about Evan basically being the new Jim and Jim now being Jim's dad. I mean a coming of age movie set in todays world would be a wild ride. I mean web cams are so much easier to hide and have way better resolution compared to 99.
American Reunion was the first of the theater films not to be written by the franchise creator Adam Herz. American Reunion unlike the other 3 films was shot in Georgia instead of California. Jason Biggs & Seann William Scott where both given Producer created for American Reunion because they where able to convince everyone to come back as multiple cast members where hesitant to come back to the American Pie universe.
I don’t understand how the milf bit can tug at my hear so much It’s such an emotional moment Like not just the two friends finally seeing each other again and reuniting but the call back to the first film and that feels like a shared moment between the viewers and the movie itself or the characters a bond between us somehow
And God created woman another of Rebecca's classics for a good watch. I love her younger sister Patricia though. Both are hot as hell. The younger generations will remember Patricia as Kissing Kate Barlow in Disney's Holes.
19:35 I’m pretty sure from hearing them talk about it, I don’t think it’s a prosthetic lmao I think it was real 😂😂
Only seen this film once, when it first came out at the cinema. I forgot how genuinely good and heartwarming it is, especially for people like me who grew up with the franchise. Just noticed on the board at 53:29, it says Sherman “To work for Arnold Schwarzenegger” 😂
We've been waiting. You have not disappointed. You have shown a true appreciation for this weird magical series. It's crazy what we could get away with before. We missed our immaturity.
I've never clicked on a reaction so fast. American Reunion is definitely my favorite Movie out of all of them. Finally somebody watched it! 🙌 I definitely hope they make another one!!! Best Reaction Ever 🤣 I got teared up 🙌👏🤝💯😎
I love you two on a reaction and I truly love American pie , this has been amazing , please watch all of the others just so this doesn’t have to end ❤❤❤
I was very young when I saw this franchise because they would give the TV version all the time so it was unavoidable So I was already old enough to watch it when American Reunion showed up and it was so nostalgic.
The two guys that wrote and directed this movie would go on to be the show runners of Cobra Kai as you guys stated but they also wrote All 3 Harold and Kumar movies and directed parts 2 and 3. So that’s their connection with NPH (the guy who plays Finch in in the H&K movies as well).
NPH is Neil Patrick Harris. I believe you meant Eddie Kaye Thomas. Also, John Cho (who played John aka Milf Guy 1) in the American Pie films was also the Harold in Harold & Kumar.
@@CourtneyReese8911 they were saying that maybe the connection to get NPH in this movie was because of How I Met Your Mother. So I was pointing out that they had a connection with NPH from Harold and Kumar. And I noted that Eddie Kaye Thomas was in the H&K movies too (I used the character name not the actor). They already knew of the John Cho part of it as they mentioned it in the video. I was just filling in the gaps of other connections not mentioned
Just watching this now, the last part really got me @1:06:02 because I only get chance to see my oldest friends when they're in town over Christmas. It would be great to meet up in between but with families and work it's hard.
This was the first American pie I ever got to see I was 15 and my mom said she wasn’t going to pay for me to see it but my aunt got free early tickets so my mom let me go since it was free so this will always have a special place in my heart
I forgot how fun this movie was. Loved rewatching it through your eyes. I can only hope for more American Pies in the future. I feel like it's time for some more 🙏🏻❤️ Have to make this series a drinking game. Every time John says "let's go!", take a drink 😉
The one with the most emotion. This came out in freshman year of high school and I wanted to see this so fucking bad. Because we never thought we’d get another one I was just in shock when they were doing another one. And we would have actually got a fifth one had the 🎥 done better. Jon Hurwitz & I went down a deep dive on what the fifth would’ve been & why it didn’t happen. So if the 🎥 had hit a certain number on opening weekend the fifth one (which would’ve been Jim’s Dad & Stifler’s mom getting married) was gonna get greenlit I think the following Monday. Unfortunately it’s the only one in the franchise that didn’t open in the summer (universal gave that summer slot to TED) and the two other 🎥s at the time that were crushing the box office were “Hunger Games” and “21 Jump Street”. While it outgrossed “American Wedding” worldwide at the box office it’s the only one in the franchise to not gross over $100 million domestically. Because studios with comedies care more about how it does in the domestic box office versus overseas. Because every country has their own comedies the North American box office for comedies matters the most.
They've tried to revive the series in the past years and failed miserably but a TRUE sequel/reboot should be the gang's kids in highschool and the gang teaching their kids to party and have fun
I always felt like this movie kicked off the nostalgic reunion movie craze. Y’know how movies like Spider-Man: No Way Home, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and etc. basically bring back nostalgic characters and iconic moments to make people come see the movie? I feel like this movie basically started that genre.
Ehhh the 4 movies are necessary for the story to be told how it was, we go on a journey of life with them. But in terms of the general experience of high school years and it's eventual reunion, yeah only the first and this one would be necessary.
For some reason I think I missed this when it came out and had it in my head that this was their 20th reunion. That made it really confusing for example when the girl he babysat for was turning 18.
Great reaction guys I grow up with the American pie movies I remember seeing the first movie with my friends enjoying the hell out of it and laughing their asses off then after that the rest is history then every year whenever the sequels come out I've seen every single one of them and as far as those American pie presents movies I've only seen one of them but there weren't the same so when this movie came out I was really happy about it and it was great and I'm still hoping for another American pie movie with this cast But if that was the last one then hey I'm happy with it and I'm still happy with it till this day but if there's another one I'd be happy to see it especially with all these legacy sequels they've been making lately god bless
AS A 30 YEAR OLD WHO GREW UP ON THESE MOVIES PLEASE WATCH THE SPIN OFFS, JIMS DAD IS IN ALL OF THEM AND IT FURTHER EXPLAINS WHY JIM IS THE WAY HE IS ONCE YOU UNDERSTAND MR LEVANSTIENS LORE AND ITS FUCKING HILARIOUS. ALSO THEY ALL FOLLOW STIFFLERS SIDE OF THE FAMILY
10:00 I, for one, have a serious problem with the "bathtub incident", in that it wasn't a twenty-minute scene with a happy ending. 😻
There is also a great documentary "American Pie Revealed" it covers American Pie American Pie 2 and American Pie Wedding, and I heard there's an American Pie Five coming out. American Pie Presents: Band Camp wasn't to bad.. I guess all of them are pretty good because Eugene Levy is in all of them lol
I love how in these “old friends reuniting a decade+ later” movies, like this and “It Chapter 2”, every single friend grows up to be super wealthy and successful 😂
dunno, seeing this in the reaction, i enjoyed it way more than when it released. this movie is great. every single one of those movies was fantastic. what a series. guess i had to grow older to really get into this one. i couldn't remember a single thing i noticed.
Great reaction - especially your interaction at 1:07:12. Eugene Levy is just an wonderful actor and a great character here. Check out "Best In Show" - a movie full with unique and wonderful characters. Both Eugene Levy and Jennifer Coolidge are in it as well.
This one is probably my favourite of the sequels. #2 is great but was a beat-for-beat re-do of the first. #3 is lots of fun but they went OTT with Stifler and the set pieces weren't as good. Maybe it's because I followed the series at the time and it was so nice catching up with all the OG cast, but I just think this one hits all the right notes.
