American Truck Simulator - Special Transport DLC - First Look and First Job 

There was an article several years ago I found of a specialized carrier who hauled mega loads. They were bringing some kind of stack for a natural gas plant from Texas to Colorado. They could only travel about 50 miles a day, had to close roads ahead of the truck and only use certain roads. It was interesting to read as this company hauls these type of things. As ATS gets more states they could do stuff like that, namely for states like Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma and Wyoming that are energy type states.

I have the "Heavy Haul" package that came out even before they allowed you to have your own trailer. A lot of what you showed came in that "Heavy Haul" package, but it was not too often you got to use it, or I should say are not many selections to choose from even when you are near a main city, and most of them have a long distance, so if short on time they didn't work so well for me. The package was only like $3.00 so I never felt cheated at any time concerning SCS. I also never down load mods simply because I don't know much about them, and for how much I play the game, it has served me well just sticking with SCS and purchasing thru Steam. Having said that, I would like to see more efficient mirrors for backing up, especially when doing a "blind side" which is less encountered I noticed in the new Oregon state. I found it much easier to back up looking out the driver's side window in all the trucks, especially trucks with the exhaust stacks on the back. //// I noticed a lot of real world things do not apply to ATS for example you can run stop signs and nothing happens as long as you don't get in a crack up, you are pulling a heavy haul load without rotating beacons but my truck I have beacons but don't use flags lol, and there are other things I've forgotten. But in some of these games your imagination has to play a part. Squirrel whom everyone seems to know, says he wishes the trucks did more bouncing and showed/felt bumps like in real life. Only time it seems to me the truck is not perfectly smooth is when it goes over "speed bumps' going in or out of a loading zone or company. Perhaps SCS is trying to keep the game at a level most computers and internet systems can handle that you don't have to run out and get tons of memory to run it, or purchase more expensive internet that you can get by with 50/50, which is also appreciated. ///// I have all my garages filled up with the heaviest tractors SCS allows you and all my garages are 5 bays so they are expanded to the max as well. In all my garages my trucks even have the good rims etc. and a nice paint job, the heaviest chassis and 18 speed transmissions with 500 HP Cummings which is not the biggest but great for a fleet truck. All even have beacon lights on the top of the mid roof sleeper and bull bumpers. I spared little expense on every truck in every garage so they could pull anything. I have mixed emotions about putting trailers in my garages, because that limits my drivers from taking any job offered. SCS has not said that having trailers on your trucks in your garages makes you more money and I'm pretty rich (in the game) already. /////// I see a lot of trucks with sleeper bodies pulling super heavy haul. They have such a limited time to drive (in real life) they need somewhere to sleep as some loads go a long way in real life. I'm not sure about escorts, perhaps each state gives you a new one but I know you have to pay them a fee as well as get permits etc. Unless really planned, it takes about five days to organize a heavy haul load and you could be a few days delivering it as well depending on where the load is going, so a sleeper cab is pretty much a must have unless you expect to wrack up large hotel bills and can find a place to park other than in a truck stop. ///// I did not see the Volvo offered via my SCS.. I'm not a Volvo fan, however it might be fun in ATS to make as my own truck. Currently I just stopped driving my Peterbilt 389 and am now driving a Kenworth T880 which can do heavy haul but perhaps not in this package we are seeing today thanks to Arthur. ///// I need to see what is involved in would of war craft soon, blowing up tanks etc. looks fun, I just don't want to have to reprogram my joy stick because I have it set up perfect for ATS. I used to do flight sim 2002 and that was like my 3rd addition, tells you how old I am LOL... ATS to me is one of the best simulator games I've run across, but then I love big trucks, tractors, etc... ///// Thumbs up for this video... In australia and maybe in new zealand they have the escort car and a police car behind the escort car to marshall the cars to the side of the road and i also saw a police car behind the load too and i saw mining truck trays and massive tech parts for the mines out here in queensland australia.

In MD you're only allowed to transport oversize loads in the day time.

Last year here in the UK we had a special load travel around 30 miles overnight. It was a 300-ton transformer, with 2x tractor units pulling and 1 pushing. It had to go past the junction on the motorway normal loads would take because it was too heavy for the bridge and take the next junction where it went under the motorway instead. It ended up over-running by 4 hours! I followed it part way, at walking pace on a straight, flat 3 lane road for 3 miles.

Done 2 oversize myself, driven Flatbed for 10 months. Both were for width and permits for each state restricted driving to daylight hours only. You can be oversize on weight, width and height. Heaviest load I have done was a 55,000 pound steel plate that was also 9 foot 2 inches wide while with my trainer. With my company we can deliver them whenever we can. Not as tight a schedule as normal loads.

Yes you do have a sleeper on heavy haul rigs.rhey never run past dark in most states.

There also was not only the tires for the massive dumptruck but the frame and dump for the truck.

Beware a situation where the rear escort sets off ahead of you with it following directly behind the lead vehicle. You will find yourself limited to about 5 mph. It will be impossible to overtake and you will probably have to abandon and take a penalty. Probably a glitch with the A.I.

set you shift control to 18speed eaton and youll find its a normal 18 speed

At that Rail Export, when you cleared the other oversize load. You should have turned to the left to those boxes and hug them until your trailer is about 3/4th in the green lines, then turn to the right all the way to get under your trailer to get it lined up...… P.S. You can use your own truck in ETS2, and in both ETS2 and ATS I just max out the heavy cargo bar. But I guess that brings up a question, should I be building my trucks differently if I am hauling loads 80K pounds and under on a regular basis? Anyone else find themselves, once in a while leaning to the side a little every time he made a turn?

I do heavy haul the rules are sun up to sun down some states will let you do a night haul depending on what state and what your load is

I couldn't even find the jobs I spent a hr driving to try and find them I even tried filtering it on the map nothing shows up

Do you think that they will update the map to include the California fires?

you check in diagnostics and it needs to use 18 Eaton speeds because needs not 13 speeds

Geez I wish real life you were able to make $82 USD per mile, I was making $0.43 CAD per mile when I was trucking. Also some of these loads may not be over dimensional but it is the weight that causes them to be oversized. Not to mention the amount of axles, many states have restrictions on that situation which causes the transport company to require oversized permits.

Just a quick note.. you built that Volvo the other day and changed the shifter pattern in the menu to 13spd. So this truck could of been a 18 but you where only set up for 13. Just a view keep up the good videos

Quick question. How do you get to keep your steering wheel so steady? I use my xb1 controller and I'm so terrible at controlling my turns and I always get pushed on the side of the road. You know you can rev it above the green with rpm? That’s better than lugging it when hauling heavy

You mention that heavy haul loads should not drive during the night and i started to wonder why that is. In Germany these transports are not allowed to drive during the day, they have a rather small timeframe during the night in which they are allowed to use public roads (during the night there is less traffic on the roads and since these transport usually block roads with their size they don't hinder so many people from reaching their destination).

i think the way you had set 13 speed i think your in 8h which will equal around 14 th or 15th in 18 speed

i didnt get email of places and i dont see them in game and i have it installed and bought it in a bundle

17,000? Think you mean 1700 as any diesel engine running 17,000 has ran away and more han likly exploded before it get that close.

its the same with yourown truck they fuel it start with full rest in ets2 so should be the same in ats

put a 18 speed fuller transmission in that truck

Maybe it is just me, but i really hate those TrackIR videos. So i must find another video to watch.

The 13speed is ok for super heavy loads but the 18speed is best i use the highest HP paccar and the Eaton 18 speed in fully automatic mode with the retarder and set it so 1mph over the cruise control it kicks in and keeps teh truck from runnning away on downhills in a top of the line Blacked Out KW T680 and it pulls anything in the game with ease. Oversized loads pack and special transport pack are the best DLC's for this game. The only downside is if ya buy them right off the bat the first trucks you get in the game will have issues towing the heavy loads..youll have to play for a bit and upgrade ya trucks transmission and engine

i never get the email so rip, waste of $5 for me.
