Paul Ritter who plays the dad is sadly missed 😢 He had a terrific acting range, evidenced by his role as the mean & moody Dyatlov in the Chernobyl series, completely at the other end of the spectrum from FND Martin
I honestly think you guys are one of the only RU-vid couples i enjoy, its obvious how much you love each other, I just don't often see much of a chemistry between couples that you guys have, it awesome and its part of why I love watching you guys
@@davidz3879 They seem like they could be good friends even if they weren't a couple, which, I think, essentially means that they trust each other and respect each other's boundaries? That seems like kind of an obvious thing, but when you are new to relationships, it's not at all obvious where your jurisdiction, so to speak, begins and ends regarding the other person. Some people try to do everything to please the other person, and others try to control the other person because they want them to be perfect. I'm just saying that that doesn't seem to be the case for them because they seem to have had time to establish those boundaries already. Sorry this turned into a small thesis, but that's what happens when suddenly you have to explain something said on a whim.
No matter how many times he does it Jim flinching at his own dog always cracks me up 😂 100% if wasn’t in the script but he’s such a good actor he must have ad-libbed it
Mark Heap is an incredible comic actor. I would recommend you guys watch "Big Train" @KingBoomer. Created and written by the 2 guys who wrote Father Ted.
I love this show. I also all call apple crumble 'crimble crumble' whenever I have it - can't help it! Jim is a legend. Please move on fast to season 2!! Some good episodes coming up!!!!
Jim appeared on the hit series Benidorm as con man Malcolm. That was before the person behind it sold it to ITV after 10 years and they dumped it - angering long time fans.
sticking the V's up at the whole audience while giggling 'like and subscribe' might be the most british thing you've done so far :D cracked me right up
Queen B takes a lot of cues from these videos eg: Watching Father Ted having a picnic.. "we should have a picnic" Watching FT and Dougal writing a song.. "we should write a song" Watching the Baby photos scene "let's get out your baby pictures" I would be very careful what I watch if that became a regular thing..
Your reactions to this show genuinely breathe fresh life into it. I watched it when it was first out and while I enjoyed this first series/season, I kind of trailed off on series 2 but this is making me want to revisit the show. Nice work guys, cheers from Ireland.
It's just a saying that means the opposite, comparing a really good piece of meat to squirrel. Like saying somethings bad to mean good "that car is bad dude"
The enjoyment we as subscribers/ viewers get from seeing both your reactions to British humour like FND is unparalleled! Keep the reactions coming! Much love from the UK (currently from Paris... Few days away from British humour and now in a place with none )
27:01 When he says "I would" right after the rest of the family are talking about and complimenting Tanya, that is the hint he is also interested in her. He is being crude. As far as I can make out. Response to video only.
I knew something was going on by the way Tanya would look at Johnny throughout the evening! At the table and in the living room. The second she excused herself to the bathroom right after Johnny was sent to get the milk, it was obvious 😅
Stumbled across you're videos after searching for Friday night dinner videos 😅 Fantastic content from you guys, Great to see Americans enjoy our comedies from across the pond and glad to see you two really got into this show as its hilarious 😅👌 also great to see a fellow member of the cult of cornette 😅👌 wondering if u listen to the drive thru and the experience also king boomer?
Glad you are going through all the episodes of this great show. The actor who played Jonny (Tom Rosenthal) was also in a funny show called Plebs, it's well worth a watch and I think you'd love the guy who plays Grumio (Ryan Sampson).
King Boomer. Nobody has commented this yet but on the off chance you read this you two should watch a TV show called 'Him and Her.' you two would love it, highly underrated.
Genius episode this I was hoping this was going to be grandmas boyfriend that was superb thank you for this watching this at the end of the day tired this is making me laugh 😂
Johnny, the brother co-wrote and played in a Roman spoof comedy with modern issues intertwined. Called 'Plebs'. Very adult humor. Check it out and see if that is something for you.
Two fingers facing forward is an insult to English people because back in the day the French would cut the fingers off of any archer they caught so he couldn’t shoot. So it’s basically saying F you I’ve still got my fingers
@@eadweard. The story is true, but it's not really insulting any more, it's just a sign of defiance and becomes more of a playful gesture with every decade.
You need to get some names written onto the back of those old 100+ year photos. You never know when you will suddenly wonder who they were. Your country's history is all pretty recent - in those photos are people who saw most of it.
The nightmare of bringing my first real girlfriend home when I was 14 is still lodged in my brain,my Mum,Dad and my 2 sisters just sat in the lounge smiling in a "Aww look at them" sort of way for what felt like ever
Tuppence Middleton before she became a movie star. Her character and Johnny were pricks towards Adam in this episode, if I was Adam I would have put Johnny in the hospital after all that.
I've never been in the baby photo position but for me it might be kind of awkward in this situation as it would feel like my parents were trying to show me off which might make me feel a little embarrassed if they were showing it to someone I and they know I'm into, even though yes that's not me in the present and I'm fully aware of that.
Ah a fine quote from Boomer today, that shall be forever marked by his undying wisdom: "One ass whoopin is all you need in your life, builds character and keeps you humble". Truly iconic. Funny because its true.
Great reaction guys. It's not "a bit of advice visa vee women never...." that doesn't make sense. It's "a bit of advice visa vee women. Never (as in do this)...." and the rest is up to your own imagination 🤔
